Where- its hazy..I look around me and see acid waves, vibrant, sour, green, spreading over every surface. When I try to open my mouth, nothing comes out. Waves splash over me, trapping me in an underwater cycle. Soon, the waves dry up and towers are over me, Looming, pitch black towers filled with smoke. It's getting harder to breathe...I desperately try, and fail to, call for help. Towers fall as I try to crawl away..but then I'm on fire. Red, blazing, brilliant fire. I can hear myself screaming inside my mind, but nothing comes out. Not a single sound. Green grass fields surround me, encasing me in luscious delight. Only, I'm on fire. And fire burns. As soon as it was there, it was gone. I try to roll around, barely being able to move. For the first time, I noticed ... .the fire..it..doesn't hurt. What's going on?? Who am i? Where am i? Sky blue clouds fall slowly and ominously on me and all I can hear is my own thoughts, racing, too fast- I wake up, basically swimming in sweat. My head hurts- I swiftly bring my hand up to my forehead, trying to focus on what I just went through. Oh. Oh. It was a dream. I realize. Hah. Who ever thought that I might think that weird blue clouds were falling on me? So strange..I laugh to myself, even if i don't find it funny at all. Isn't laughing a way to deal with being afraid, or, trying to hide it? The back of my brain reminds me. That's enough sleep, for sure. I glance outside to see the moon a bit over halfway through the sky, its crescent figure gliding slowly. Oh, it's still early. Definitely not the desired time to be waking up. But...who is really caring, anyways? Not that I would care if we were not in this post-apocalyptic mess of a world. Even before..everything...happened, I would stay up, playing video games or writing in our- my plant book.

"Will it survive out here?" I cooed sweetly, my mom listening thoughtfully. Her partially wrinkled face eased, softening from my innocence. "Of course it will, honey, Occid plants survive without water for months" I quickly glanced over to our new plant, interested. "Really?" my voice matches my face, practically sunshine. "Do you want to water it, Hun?" Somehow, my round face lit up with even more joy, and I think my mom was surprised I wasn't the sun. Tugging on her arm, I was desperate to water it, to be able to care for something. Little me was beaming with pride, having added the first plant to my precious plant book. If only I knew how much it mattered back then...(delete this later in last draft, he is 4 years old in this)

The (fake) wind (from my plastic, white fan) blows my caramel brown hair all over my face, obscuring my vision partially. Shimmering, bright stars light up my face through the see through glass of my porch/personal greenhouse. I glance down and notice the Occid plant, gleaming in the moonlight. Its parched green leaves call out to me, basically begging to be hydrated. My head nods around, trying to find the shiny gray watercan. Glimmering in the moonlight, its reflective surface stands out. Picking it up eagerly, I turn back to my plant, hoping it hasn't died...yet. "I'm sorry I forgot about you." I breathe to the inanimate plant, apologetically. Why are you asking a plant for their forgiveness? You should get back to sleep instead of doing this, my thoughts ring in my head. Crouching down, I feed it some water, in a hopeful attempt to care for its half-wilted leaves. My hand reaching out, I grasp on one of its (only partly wilted) precious olive green petals and twirl it between my fingers carelessly. Admiring its beauty, my mind drifts back to when it...helped us. "Oh, what a little flower can do" I chuckle, grinning. But, it ruined you too, the back of my mind whispers to me. My face quenches in anguish, making my teeth grind together. "Oh, what a little flower can do" I repeat to the shimmering night sky.
