"I honestly can't believe you Akaashi. First, you cuss out and flip off a famous volleyball player,

then you proceed to follow him on instagram." Kenma snorted, looking at Akaashi, who was stuck in his thoughts, and nudging him with his elbow. Akaashi looked up, sighing as he buried his face into his hands before muttering incoherent words.

"What?" Kenma spoke, trying to pry the words from Akaashis mouth clearly. Akaashi sighed again before meeting Kenma's gaze.

"I also called him a dickwad and told him to get back into his overpriced vehicle... I'm fucking screwed." Akaashi could already see the heading on the newspaper in front of him. 'Akaashi Keiji, sued for harassment against a celebrity.' He felt like he should die. Of all days, why did it have to be today?

"Well, it's not like you'll ever see him again. It's a one in a million chance." Kenma reassured in an attempt to lighten some of the weight upon Akaashi's shoulders. Akaashi scoffed, rolling his eyes before they finally made it to the main campus.

"There's that I guess." He spoke with uncertainty in his voice.

"Well, I'll see ya later. Meet at my place?" Kenma spoke while scrolling on instagram.

"Yeah, sure. See ya later." Akaashi waved Kenma off before dragging a hand over his face and walking away. He brought out his phone, unlocking the screen and entering instagram. As he scrolled, more of Bokuto's feed began to pop up. He groaned out in annoyance and closed out of the app before shutting his phone off and stuffing it into his pocket. It'd blow over eventually.

3:27 pm

Akaashi had finally gotten back to his apartment, unlocking the door and letting himself in. He kicked off his shoes, hanging his coat up at the same time before tossing his keys on the counter and grabbing a bottle of water. Unscrewing the cap, he took out his phone from his back pocket and unlocked it.

Opening up Instagram, he was shocked when his feed was full of Bokuto's posts and fanpages. This couldn't be happening, Akaashi thought. After a little scrolling he took a sip of his water, setting his phone down on the counter and checking the time on the oven. 3:34 pm.

"I should probably head to Kenma's now." Akaashi voiced his thoughts as he sighed, grabbing his keys from the counter and his jacket off the rack beside the door. He knelt down, reaching for his shoes. Slipping them on, he tightened the laces and reached out a hand for his bag. Akaashi stopped for a moment, realizing he'd almost forgotten his phone. Standing up, he stepped toward the counter, grabbing his phone from it and finally turning to leave his apartment.

________________

The roads weren't as crowded compared to this morning which gave Akaashi relief. His phone lit up with a message from Kenma.

One new message from:'Kenma'

Akaashi clicked on the message, having his phone read it to him so he could focus on not crashing.

"Hey, Kuroo invited a friend or two over if that's fine with you. If not, you can just pick me up and we can go somewhere else." Akaashi really didn't feel like hanging out with other people right now so upon hearing the message he answered back by voice to text Kenma.

"I really don't feel like seeing other people so I'll just pop in real quick, say hi to Kuroo and we can go." Akaashi checked for any mistakes on the text, before clicking the send button and taking a right turn onto Kenma's apartment street.

'One new message from: Kenma'

Akaashi figured he'd read it later since he was just down the street.

'3 new messages from: Kenma'

Akaashi's eyes flicked over to his screen which was constantly lighting up with messages from Kenma. What the hell. Akaashi thought for 2 reasons.

Kenma almost never spam texts

Kenma has his location so there's no reason to be spam texting.

Akaashi didn't pay much mind to it, deciding he'd just ask Kenma himself when he saw him. Continuing down the road, he'd finally reached Kenma's apartment complex and parked his motorcycle near the entrance. He kept his helmet on and visor down since he'd just be picking Kenma up. Akaashi headed into the elevator and ascended to the 5th floor. When the elevator doors opened, he stepped out and made his way down to the end of the hall where Kenma's place was. Giving 3 knocks he waited for the door to open. His phone had been buzzing almost the entire time and he was getting suspicious. He sighed, bringing out his phone and opening up Kenma's messages. Before he could even read them, the door opened, revealing Kenma who had a panicked expression on his face.

"Do not come in. Let's just go now-" Kenma whispered with an awkward smile before Kuroo's voice could be heard in the background.

"Kenma! Is that Akaashi!" Kuroo questioned.

"Uh, No!" Kenma yelled back while putting a finger over his lips and whispering to Akaashi once again.

"You DO NOT wanna come in trust me because Bo-" Kenma couldn't finish speaking before a rooster with horrible bed-head cut him off.

"Akaashi! You made it! Why don't you come in to say hi!" Before Akaashi could retaliate he was being pushed inside the apartment. He stood there awkwardly before looking at the small group of people on the carpet playing mario kart. He pushed his visor up before taking his helmet off to properly speak, but just as Akaashi was about to introduce himself he locked gazes with a familiar pair of golden ones.

"Oh shit." Akaashi muttered under his breath.

Bokuto had just left the bathroom, drying his hands on a towel as he walked out into the living room. He watched a man, who'd seemingly just arrived, take his helmet off. Bokuto didn't pay much attention, setting the towel down on the counter. As he looked back at the man, he met eyes with the same pair of steel blue irises from this morning. His jaw was agape, but he reminded himself of how exactly they met this morning. This was the same person who'd flipped him off this morning. Bokuto pretended not to remember and instead stepped over with a smile on his face and waved to the steely eye'd ravenette.

"That's Bokuto, but you guys probably already knew that." Kuroo stepped in with a small laugh. Akaashi and Kenma exchanged awkward glances as they 'laughed'. Bokuto stepped forward to offer his hand out to Akaashi.

"I'm perfectly capable of introducing myself ya know!, but anyway nice to meet you!" Bokuto smiled as he shook hands with Akaashi. Cold. Was the only word on his mind as he and Akaashi's hands touched.

"You as well, Bokuto-san. I'm Akaashi Keiji." Akaashi seemed calm on the outside as he spoke, but on the inside, he was a raging ball of nerves. As their hands touched, Akaashi could feel the noticeable difference in body temperatures, but then again, Akaashi had always been cold. He retracted his hand back against his body, giving the rest of the guys on the carpet a slight bow before slightly glaring at Kenma.

"Hey, did you bring your motorcycle Akaashi?" Kuroo was always one to investigate.

"Yes, why?" Akaashi exchanged glances with Kuroo, glaring daggers at him, yet he still persisted.

"Bokuto you have to check out Akaashi's bike, it's sick as hell." Kuroo spoke with enthusiasm.

"It's not that impressive Kuroo." Akaashi rolled his eyes. This meeting was already lengthy enough.

"We should probably get going by now. We're gonna be late for the movie." Kenma swooped in for the save smoothly, giving a curt nod to the few before slipping his shoes on in the doorway and opening the door.

"Oh yes, right." Akaashi nodded before waving the guys off coldly, giving a glare towards Kuroo.

"Bye Kaashi" Bokuto spoke, sending chills up Akaashi's spine.

"It's Akaashi. Bye Bokuto-San." He spoke coldly, trying not to glare at him. He then closed the door, allowing Kenma to lock it.

Once the two were outside, the cold air blowing on their faces, Akaashi looked to Kenma.

"One in a million chance huh?" Akaashi seethed with an eyeroll.

"I literally texted you, but you didn't answer!" Kenma complained before taking a seat on Akaashi's motorcycle. Akaashi sighed as he opened his messages. Kenma was right, he did in fact text him well over 3 times to just wait outside because Bokuto was there.

"I figured I'd just ask you once I got here!" Akaashi retorted.

"I didn't even know that they were friends, Kuroo always mentioned having a famous friend that he helps out sometimes, but I didn't think he was being serious!!" Kenma dragged his hands over his face.

"Well, it's not like we can do anything about it. I'll just start picking you up outside I guess" Akaashi sighed as he lifted himself onto his motorcycle, giving Kenma a spare helmet and starting the engine.

"I guess. Yeah." Kenma answered, taking the helmet and securing it onto his head. He placed his hands on Akaashi's shoulders, squeezing them.

"Don't go too fast because I do not want a repeat of what happened last time." Kenma stressed the comment more than enough, but Akaashi only rolled his eyes and took off down the road. Kenma scrolled through Akaashi's playlist before playing a song. Clicking on 'Are you Bored yet?' by Wallows he secured Akaashi's phone back into its setup. Kenma hummed in tune to the lyrics, tapping his fingers to the beat. Akaashi hummed along before beginning to mutter the lyrics.

"What's wrong, you've been asking but I don't have an answer..." Akaashi muttered before Kenma began to join in with him, a light chuckle reaching his lips.

"How come, I'm still thinkin', let's pretend to fall asleep now, when we get old, will we regret this... too young to think about all that shit..." Kenma tapped Akaashi's shoulders, causing him to give a light laugh and continue the lyrics.

"-And stalling only goes so far, when you've got a head start" Akaashi sang, swaying himself to the lyrics carefully as he turned onto an exit. Flashing lights grazed by, splashes of blue, green, and red lighting their way. The sounds of cars honking and traffic beginning to speed up were only objects that existed in the background.

"'Cause we could stay at home and watch the sunset, but I can't help from asking, Are you bored yet? And if you're feelin' lonely you should tell me, before this ends up as another memory.'" Akaashi and Kenma began to sing together, relishing in the way the cold air beat against their faces through their helmets.

"Will you tell the truth so I don't have to lie..." Akaashi sang the line alone before Kenma joined in singing the next part.

"Will you tell the truth so I don't have to lie..." Kenma finished before he gave the spotlight to Akaashi.

"Feels like I've known you my whole life, I can see right through your lies, I don't know where we're goin', But I'd like to be by your side. If you could tell me how you're feelin', Maybe we could get through this undefeated, Holdin' on for so long, oh." Akaashi sang the lyrics, his voice carried in the mind. He couldn't feel more alive.

"'Cause we could stay at home and watch the sunset, But I can't help from asking, "Are you bored yet?"And if you're feelin' lonely you should tell me before this ends up as another memory." Kenma and Akaashi both sang once again as they felt the song coming to an end.

"Will you tell the truth so I don't have to lie?" Kenma jumped into the next verse first before Akaashi joined in the ending.

"Will you tell the truth, so I don't have to lie?" Akaashi finished as the song came to an end, making them both sigh before letting out light laughs.

"I love that song." Kenma mentioned as they began to leave the intersection. A while later they'd finally made it to Akaashi's apartment, getting off the motorcycle and heading up the stairs. Akaashi removed his keys from his pocket, pushing one of them into the lock and twisting it open.

"Welcome to my humble home." Akaashi spoke sarcastically before tossing his keys onto the counter and picking up his water bottle from earlier. Twisting the cap off, he took a drink from it, setting it back down into its place and turning to his cabinet in search of some popcorn.

"Want some Kenma?" He asked as he pulled out the box from the cabinet and took a package of popcorn out.

"Sure." Kenma's eyes were glued to the T.V. in search of a movie to entertain the both of them, so he only gave a curt nod before scrolling down on Netflix.

"Alrighty." Akaashi nodded before popping a bag of popcorn into the microwave and starting it at 1 minute 45 seconds. "Find anything?" He questioned Kenma as he pulled out his phone to check his socials.

"No... also, have you finished publishing your book yet?" Kenma asked as he peered into akaashi's room and stared at his computer that still sat idle on his desk.

"No, but I swear I've been meaning to get to it, I just-" Kenma cut Akaashi off before he could finish.

"Nope- You always say that and how long has it been?" Kenma raised a brow at Akaashi, prying for an answer.

"Tsk... 4 months?" Akaashi guessed, turning to the beeping microwave to fetch the popcorn out. Sighing, he opened the small beg, emptying the kernels into a movie bowl and bringing it over to Kenma.

"Exactly my point. Stop being a wuss and just submit it already." Kenma scolded, simultaneously digging his hand into the bowl for a piece of popcorn and tossing it into his mouth.

"I will, I will, I just- I'm not sure if I'm ready yet. What if the publishers don't think it's good enough, or the grammar is- Ow!" Kenma gave Akaashi a firm punch to the shoulder, furrowing his eyebrows at his nervous wreck of a friend.

"Stop it. You've gone over all 250 something pages of your book I don't know how many times, changing and rechecking everything. You even asked me and I don't know what I'm lookin' at!" Kenma reassured (in his own odd way) Akaashi with confidence.

"Thank you Kenma." Akaashi sighed, leaning his head on Kenma's shoulder and Kenma's head resting on his.

"That's what friends are for Akaashi." Kenma pulled the blanket over the two of them before playing the movie.

______________

Just over 40 minutes into the movie, Akaashi was fighting tears for the main love interest who was now on the brink of death. Kenma, just sat idly, his eyes red as he was also visibly fighting the waterworks.

"God I hate this movie." Akaashi commented, taking the tissues and wiping his eyes. Kenma sniffled quietly before his phone started to buzz with Kuroo's contact icon flashed onto his screen. Kenma sighed, picking up the phone as Akaashi paused the movie.

"What Kuroo?" Kenma poke into the phone, his voice still shaky from having cried.

"Woah, hey are you okay? Did something happen?" Rustling could be heard from Kuroo, voices in the background as he spoke worriedly.

"Don't be annoying, we're just watching a movie" Kenma spoke with an eye roll, though the smile on his face said otherwise.

"Okay Okay, I was just making sure. I miss you, I love you." Kuroo spoke into the phone causing Kenma to blush almost crimson.

"I- I love you too" Kenma hesitated. Akaashi admired the two's relationship. They'd been dating almost 4 and a half years now, but still gave each other butterflies.

"Are you nervous?" Kuroo spoke and Akaashi could just see the smirk plastered on his face. He rolled his eyes before speaking up.

"Get a room." Akaashi rolled his eyes, but stopped, his lips pursed together in confusion. That buffoon was still there???

"Get a room!" Bokuto could be heard in the background, speaking almost simultaneously with Akaashi. Kenma rolled his eyes, watching Akaashi.

"No, now go back to hanging out with your friends or else I might just stay at Akaashi's" Kenma threatened Kuroo.

"Ok okay! Just be back soon!" Kuroo spoke, blowing a kiss through the phone for Kenma before hanging up.

"You guys disgust me" Akaashi made a gagging motion with his face before laughing lightly

"I know you're not talking. I saw how Bokuto was giving you goo-goo eyes." Kenma teased with a smirk.

"He was not, so just play the movie." Akaashi sank back into his seat on the couch, his lip turned up into a small pout. Kenma laughed at him before resuming their movie and not a moment later, they were spouting tears again.
