but here is the catch, jude and lulu's sudden hate goes way beyond playing for rival teams. no one really knows where it had come from, nor how it expanded into something worse, but from the moment jude ate the last chocolate pancake at breakfast one time at dortmund, and when lulu didn't laugh at his — what he believed was a — hilarious joke, jude and lulu vowed to hate one another for the rest of their lives.
it was some silly, childish pettiness that overtime found itself expanding into something way worse. jude noticed the countless boys lulu was rumoured to be seeing each week, and lulu couldn't help but laugh whenever she saw a new girl rocking up to a madrid game in a bellingham jersey. lulu scoffed when he won the kopa trophy, jude rolled his eyes when she won the same thing only several minutes later. he was a player, she was a player — in every way possible.
truth to be told, they hated each other so much because they saw themself when looking into the others eyes, and that scared them. a lot.
however there is a very thin line between love and hatred, and the more fate continues pushing jude and lulu together, the more the line between them starts to get thinner, and thinner, and thinner, and thinner. until it eventually becomes nothing.
