A fluffy Lumity oneshot set in a human au where Luz starts at Hexside High and because she is a theatre kid, immediately auditions to be the main role in the school's current production, The Good Witch Azura.
Boscha finally manages to push Amity to audition too, but when the mint haired girl meets the new theatre kid, she falls head over heels for her.

*No spoilers other than you need to have watched up to Through The Looking Glass Ruins*

Luz's POV:

After being bullied enough at my last school, my mom had finally saved up enough money to send me to a different school instead, Hexside High.

When I arrived on the first day, I realised that it was a very big school and not at all like my last one, Saint James Middle School. I didn't make friends at first, but then once I started taking drama lessons, I found my calling.

I've been a theatre kid all my life. It's just a way to express yourself and be free. I've sadly never gone to any live performances because my mom doesn't have enough money for that, but I have seen them on YouTube.

But I bet they are a lot better on the live stage...

Anyway, during my first lesson, I quickly made friends with the two partners I was assigned to work with, Willow and Gus. They were really nice and were fellow theatre nerds, so we got along really well.

But everything really started when a drama club started. It was said that there they would be auditioning for the first school production.

When I arrived there and sat down beside my two new friends, the drama club announced to us that the first school production would be The Good Witch Azura.

I was so excited and energised, but other people around me were angry or miserable and left, including Willow and Gus. This made me upset, but I knew their might be a chance to make new friends during this production, too.

There weren't that many people left in the club, so when I auditioned for the main role as Azura, I immediately got it. This upset me because I wanted the thrill of having a rivalry with the others that wanted the role, but at least it meant I wouldn't be made as a tree like in all of my roles in my old school's productions.

There are many movies in the franchise, but the specific one that the play was about would be focused on my two favourite characters, Azura and Hecate. It was about how they would end up becoming allies and then fall in love with each other.

I shipped those two so much, and I'm also bisexual so I would be fine if my Hecate was to be a boy or a girl or any other gender really.

Soon after, the teacher approached me, and beside her was a girl about the same height as me with mint green hair.

"Hello Luz, meet Amity, she will be Hecate in this year's production and because you two will have a lot of lines together, it is best we pair you two up so you can get to know each other!" The teacher informed me.

"Okay, hello, Amity!" I called, waving with a smile on my face.

"Uhhhh, hello Luz..." Amity mumbled, smiling awkwardly.

"Amity, Luz is a new student, so I recommend you stay by her and teach her your skills as you are excellent at acting!" The teacher said.

  "Oh... okay!" Amity replied.

The teacher walked off, which left the two of us alone together...

Amity's POV:

Oh, how I regret it when the teacher left me alone with her. She's so cute, I just can't take it.

Yes, I am good at acting, but I didn't really want to sign up to this anyway. I only did it because Boscha thinks she's psychic, and therefore wrongly predicted that the first school production would be her favourite, The Mean Girls.

Skara was happy to go along as she liked that play, too, but it took a lot of convincing from those two to get me to join them. I reluctantly went along with it all, but only because I wanted to meet a cute girl who could one day be my wife rather than some snobby princess my mom would probably pick for me...

  And now here we are.

"Sooooo Amity!" Luz said, leaning in closer to me, "Do you like The Good Witch Azura?"

"Yes, but why does that matter?" I replied, trying to step away because she was getting so close and my cheeks were getting so red, but she was getting closer.

"Finalllllllly!" She exclaimed, "I've found another Azura fan! Who's your favourite character?"

I was very suprised I had just found another Azura fan too, because when I had explained it to Boscha and Skara before, they said they didn't like it because Boscha is dyslexic and Skara only books that have a lit of details pictures and photos, and also are related to music.

But, I wasn't going to allow myself to let my guard down yet, especially in front of a new girl.

"Hecate obviously. Why do you think I would have auditioned for her? I responded.

"Geez, no need to be a sass queen Amity!" Luz said, smiling smugly.

She's so adorable, I can't take it. She was getting even closer, and I now had to put the script in front of my face so she wouldn't comment about why I looked like a tomato right now.

"Could we just learn the script, please?" I mumbled.

Luz bent my script and then stared at me with her beautiful hazel eyes.

  "Sure!" She replied...

Luz's POV:

For the next ten minutes, the two of us started practising our lines for the play. Even though she had acted shy around me, she was very good at projecting her voice and getting into the character of Hecate while reading out her lines.

Whenever I get close in with her, she starts panicking, and for a split-second, until she puts her script up against her face, her cheeks look as red as a tomato. I find this really cute, and even though we aren't properly friends yet, I was starting to like her already.

But not in the way you think...

But after a few days of non-stop rehearsals, it is then time for us to start with dressing rehearsals. I loved my little Azura costume, and I could tell Amity liked her Hecate dress too.

As her mind was in the clouds and she was twirling around in her navy dress with her red-haired wig flopping around, I then crept in on her.

"Boo!" I whispered in her ear.

She screamed and then fell on the floor. I bent down to help her up, but when she spotted it, it was me who spooked her. She started blushing and turned away.

"You aren't funny, Luz!" She shouted.

"Yeah, sure, I'm not!" I replied sarcastically, still helping her up anyway.

She stepped back and then stared into my soul, ready for whatever I was about to say next.

"Sooooo, today is the first dressed rehearsal!" I pointed out, "Are you excited we're getting to dress up as our favourite characters, and then become them on stage?"

"More like nervous, and this will be embarrassing!" Amity replied.

"Well, if you don't blush like a tomato, it won't be!" I commented.

Her face then heated up, and she narrowed her eyebrows at me. But before she could say anything, the teacher called and told us it was time.

The part we would be rehearsing today in our costumes today would be the dance Azura and Hecate had together, while they were still unsure if they could trust each other. I was really excited to see how this would turn out, so I could finally see what Amity's dancing is like because she was too embarrassed to ever show me during rehearsals, so we always skipped past that part.

I found myself on the stage, the lights shining down brightly on me. This was my time to finally shine!

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

The performance went by like the flick of a switch, so it is really difficult to remember anything that happened. All I remember is me saying some lines, Amity saying some lines, and then the very passionate dance.

I was quick to find out she was actually a very good dancer, but she refused to show her talent off to me during our private rehearsals. We got very close with each other, and her blush was luckily manageable that we didn't need to keep on stopping and starting again.

But even when we were doing all of this, even I was blushing. She is a very cute girl, and I really hope that once we fo take the production to the live audience, we can find a spark that can join us two together.

After the performance ended, she walked up to me and then handed me a pink piece of paper. I opened it up to find a bunch of numbers scribbled on it neatly in a thin tipped pen.

"This is my number, I think we can become good friends after this all ends!" She said, her cheeks blushing redder than ever.

My cheeks did the exact same, but my warm smile managed to shrug that all away.

  "Thanks, me too!" I replied...
