FIVE DAYS HAD PASSED SINCE JANE AND ALEC HAD FINALLY MADE UP AND BEFORE REBEKAH KNEW IT - IT WAS THE NIGHT OF THE BALL. She found herself in a room surrounded by many dresses and a large mirror full to the brim with makeup. Alice and Rosalie were sifting through the gowns while Leah was curling her hair. Jane was painting her nails, a small smile on her red lips and Esme was there - watching the scene before her with a gentle grin.

"And here I thought all you guys only wore black." Rosalie commented to Jane, who just shrugged as she blew on the fresh coat of polish.

"One must always have options." She replied with a grin.

Since Rebekah and Jane had finally made peace, the brunette had deemed that all Jane needed was friends and the chance to be a girl. She and Alice got on like wildfire when they discovered their shared love of fashion, which is why they had tasked themselves with picking out dresses for everyone.

"As long as you don't stick me in any pink nightmare, I'll wear whatever you think would look good." Leah called over her shoulder - shaking out her now curly hair.

"Trust me, Leah - I would never let them do that to you." Rebekah commented from her spot on the lounge chair, silently begging for someone to rescue her from this madness.

"Alright!" Alice clapped her hands and everyone looked towards the hyper little seer. "Everyone's dresses have been picked, I would advise you to hurry up and get in them." She ordered the room full of women before vanishing into one of the dressing rooms with a dress bag in her hands.

"Rebekah," Rosalie called out to her, and the younger girl looked over to her sister-in-law, who was holding a dress bag in her hands as well. "This one's yours." She smiled.

Now, Rebekah had never been a fan of dresses - something that had carried on with her from her human to vampire life. And yet as she looked at her reflection in the mirror, she could not stop the smile on her face from growing brighter.

The material of the gown was a deep royal purple, tight around her torso and bust, but long and flowy past her hips. Her shoulders were shown off by the lovely off-shoulder sleeves, allowing her collarbones and neck to be seen clearly. She looked like a princess and she felt like one too.

"Come on out, Becks - let's see it." Leah called out from behind the door of the changing room, and Rebekah patted the dress down before finally walking back out to the sitting room.

"Oh, darling." Esme cooed as she rose from her seat, her silver dress shimmering in the light. "You look beautiful."

"The color looks so wonderful on you, Rebekah." Jane complemented as she slid on the red shoes that matched her blood-red gown. Her blonde hair swayed across her shoulder in endless curls, and her eyes were framed with dark eyeshadow and lovely mascara.

Alice bounded forward in a rhinestone pink number, her bright eyes shining with excitement. "I knew you would look amazing!" The seer beamed.

"I never thought I would see the day you would wear a dress." Leah joked from her spot in front of the vanity, staying still as Rosalie fixed her short curly hair into a beautiful style. "Looking good, Becks."

"Thanks, Leah." Rebekah grinned as she walked toward Jane, holding her skirt up so she wouldn't step on it. "Do you have any shoes that would go with this?" She asked the blonde.

Jane thought about it for a bit. "I'll go see if we have any."

"Here Rebekah, it's your turn." Rosalie gestured for her to take a seat where Leah had been perched. Rosalie was the only one Rebekah would ever trust to do her hair, the blonde was a goddess when it came to hair and makeup.

"You look gorgeous, Rose." Rebekah complimented as her sister-in-law got to work on pulling her hair out of her face.

Rosalie had chosen to wear an emerald green dress with long sleeves and a deep neckline that showed off the tops of her breasts. The blonde truly looked like Aphrodite reincarnated.

Rosalie cast her a smile in the mirror as she twisted Rebekah's brunette locks back. By the time she was down with Rebekah's hair, the curls fell down her back, and it was out of her face. And then Rosalie started on her makeup.

"Hold still, Bekah. Don't smudge my work." Rosalie scolded lightly when Rebekah jumped at the feeling of the eyeshadow being painted above her eyes. "Alec won't know what hit him."

"I think these will work." Rebekah heard Jane's voice enter the room and Rosalie pinched her arm to stop her from opening her eyes to see the shoes Alec's sister had picked. "Esme? Carlisle was looking for you, something about keeping Emmett in line. He and Felix were about to commence an arm wrestling match."

"Lord that boy." Esme grumbled and Rebekah let out a quiet laugh before she silenced when she felt Rosalie lower the tube of lipstick onto her top lip.

"Almost done." Rosalie promised before she let out a sigh. "There. You can open your eyes, Bekah." The blonde told her as she pulled away from the brunette and Rebekah let her eyes flutter open.

"Rosalie..." Rebekah trailed off as she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. "This is..."

"You look lovely, Rebekah." Jane smiled at her as she set down a pair of royal purple heels on the vanity. "I think these will look beautiful with your dress."

"Thank you." Rebekah smiled as she slipped on the heels, and rose from her chair, willing herself to get used to the tight shoes.

"Ladies! It's time!" Alice's bell-like voice cut through the calm and she appeared in the doorway with an ever-quiet Jasper on her arm. "Come on! We don't want to be late."

"Come." Jane held out her hand. "Alec is waiting."

Leah shot her a smile. "Go get your boy, Rebekah. I got to go find Santiago."

Rebekah let out a breath and let Jane lead her down the hallway.

"Now, you and Alec will be introduced by Aro and then you'll enter from the stairway. Alec knows what to do." Jane informed her as they got closer to the top of the stairwell. "You'll be fine, Rebekah."

"It just seems too good to be true, you know? No fighting, no war, everything is at peace." Rebekah rambled, and Jane gave her a sad smile and pulled the two to a stop.

"Rebekah, I know we have not always had a great relationship, and that is my fault." The blonde started and placed a hand on the brunette's shoulder. "But, I can't imagine anyone better to be my brother's wife and mate. And I am so glad to have you as a part of my family."

And then to Rebekah's shock, Jane pulled her into a tight hug. It didn't take her long to return it, a smile pulling at her lips.

"Now, stand straight and smile bright." Jane ordered her with a smirk. "A Volturi lady must be confident in herself."

"Rebekah?" Rebekah met Alec's gaze over Jane's shoulder. "My heart, you look just as beautiful as the night sky."

"I'll see you two in a bit." Jane nodded at the two before she disappeared down the corridor.

Which left Alec and Rebekah alone.

"I see you and Jane are getting along." He commented as he wrapped an arm around Rebekah's waist, pulling her body close to his. "You'll never know how happy I am to see that."

"About as happy as I get when I see you and Emmett get along?" Rebekah shot back with a cheeky smile and Alec shot her a playful glare.

"I suppose you do then." And then a throat clearing over a sound system caught their attention and Alec let out a breath, looking down at his mate. "Are you ready?"

"As I'll ever be." Rebekah breathed and Alec smiled, looping their arms together and walking behind the closed curtain - the stairway just on the other side.

"My dear friends! I am so pleased you could all join us for this lovely night." Aro's voice silenced the crowd and Rebekah squeezed Alec's arm.

"Tonight will be a night of celebration, for a few members of our family have returned home. I am glad to welcome back our dearest Demetri, Felix, and Santiago and I am honored they chose to stay with us for a while longer." Cheers echoed throughout the ballroom causing Rebekah to smile when she heard Leah's whistle

"However, there is something else that causes for such excitement." Aro once again captured the crowd's attention. "For too long the Volturi and Cullen coven had been at odds against one another, but no more! It was by the grace of the Gods that two members of the covens found each other and fell in love. My brothers and I are pleased to announce, that the marriage between these two souls will forever bring together our two covens, and settle the hatred once and for all."

Rebekah giggled quietly along with Alec when they heard Emmett's loud cheer of "Hell Yeah!" Leave it to her brother to be the loudest in the room.

"May I introduce Alec Volturi and the lovely Rebekah Cullen, the saviors of our covens!" And then the curtains opened and the cheers got louder when Alec and Rebekah stepped out onto the top of the stairs.

Rebekah pushed back the nerves in her stomach and smiled as Alec kept his arm looped with hers. And then they slowly descended the stairs, smiling at the many faces in the ballroom. The Cullen girl grinned wider when she caught sight of her family in front of the crowd. Leah was there too, Santiago at her side as she waved at Rebekah.

"Please my friends, enjoy the ball! Dance! Drink! Be merry!" Aro commanded from his spot on the balcony with the other kings beside him.

"God, my sister is wearing a dress, Hell must have frozen over." Emmett smirked when Alec and Rebekah finally reached the bottom of the stairs.

"Oh, shut up, Emmett." Rebekah stuck her tongue out at her older brother.

"You look beautiful, sweetheart." Carlisle walked forward to pull his youngest daughter into a hug and Rebekah turned the embrace. "I am so proud of you, Rebekah."

"Thank you, Dad." The title had the Cullen Patriarch beaming and he leaned down to place a kiss on Rebekah's forehead. "Thank you for always supporting me."

"Always, Rebekah." He promised before pulling away and returning to his spot beside Esme.

"I'm going to find Demetri and Felix," Alec told her before kissing her temple. "Save me a dance?"

"Of course." Rebekah told him before the Volturi vampire walked away into the crowd.

"Come on, let's go see what kind of wine they got." Leah latched onto Rebekah's wrist and proceeded to drag her over to where the wine was, which thankfully was on the opposite side of the room where the blood was located.

"Leah, we can't get drunk." Rebekah reminded her best friend.

The she-wolf paid her no mind. "We can sure as hell try."

Which is how Rebekah found herself giggling away as she sipped from a laced glass of animal blood, which had been mixed with a very expensive wine (courtesy of Santiago).

"Seth is gonna be so mad he missed this." Leah laughed as she watched Santiago and Emmett have a dance-off, both not caring as they made fools of themselves in the middle of the ballroom.

"I think Jasper is filming it." Rebekah cackled just as Rosalie appeared, looking like an exasperated mother. "Need a drink?" The brunette asked the blonde and she protested when Rosalie snatched the cup from her hands.

"Please do something with your brother." Rosalie pleaded after she downed the glass of spiked blood, and Rebekah really wanted to say no - but then she took pity on the blonde.

"Leah, get me and Rosalie another drink. I've got to go deal with the dumbass." Rebekah laughed and Leah shot her a wink.

"Have fun!" The shifter called out as Rebekah walked towards her older brother.

"Hey, baby bear!" Emmett beamed when he caught sight of his little sister on the edge of the circle that had formed around him and Santiago. "Join me! Just like old times!"

"No." She laughed, but every bit of her wanted to dance with Emmett. "Rosalie sent me to stop you."

"Please, Bekah. Just one tiny dance!" Emmett begged her like the child he was, his wide puppy eyes on full display and that was when she heard the song change, and her gaze snapped over to where Alice was standing by the DJ, an evil grin on her face.

'If you can't beat them, join them.' Rebekah shrugged ot herself as the opening lyrics to Down by Jay Sean echoed through the speakers. The very song that Rebekah and Emmett would belt out every day on the way to school when they first moved to Forks.

You oughta know
Tonight is the night to let it go
Put on a show
I wanna see how you lose control

And soon Rebekah found herself swaying her hips to the beat, a wide smile on her painted lips. Her hands ran through her hair as she let the music guide her body in any direction it deemed fit. She knew she looked like an idiot, but god she couldn't find it in herself to care. Not now, not when everything was perfect in her life.

And so she danced, her hips swinging and her voice belting out the lyrics into the night. Emmett was doing the same as he tried his best to break dance much to the embarrassment of his wife, who was on her second glass of wine.

ALEC WAS LAUGHING WITH DEMETRI WHEN HE FELT A FINGER TAPPING ON HIS SHOULDER. When he turned around, he was met with the very amused face of Santiago, who looked very close to laughing. And he could only pray that Rebekah and Jane hadn't decided to plot against him.

"I never knew Rebekah could dance." Was all Santiago said before nodding towards the middle of the room and Alec's eyebrows hit his hairline when he saw his mate shaking her ass in the middle of the dancefloor to a hip-hop song he had never heard before.

Emmett was with her too, the big buffoon dancing like tonight was his last night to have fun, but Alec's attention was purely on Rebekah. And then Rebekah turned around, and her beautiful golden eyes locked with his ruby-red ones.

The smile she had on her face was full of mischief as she mouthed the lyrics of the songs. Her whole body turned in his direction and she could see the cloudy look in her eyes, brought on by the alcohol he could smell from here.

Even if the sky is falling down
Like she's supposed to be, she gets down low for me
Down like her temperature, 'cause to me she zero degree
She cold, over-freeze, I got that girl from overseas
Now she my Miss America, now can I be her soldier, please?
I'm fightin' for this girl on the battlefield of love
Don't it look like Baby Cupid sending arrows from above?
Don't you ever leave the side of me, indefinitely, not probably
And honestly, I'm down like the economy
Yeah!

And like a moth to a flame he was drawn to her, and before he realized - she had her hand wrapped around his arm, pulling him in close to dance.

Her back was to his chest she used to body to guide him to the song. Never had he danced like this before, but yet as he stood there, looking down at his beautiful mate, he couldn't even be mad.

"This is not what I meant when I asked if you would save me dance." Alec joked as he spun Rebekah around to face him.

"But you're having fun." She shot back as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "You can't deny it."

"No, I can't." He agreed with her, his lips pulling into a smile as she leaned back to whisper the lyrics of the sound.

"Baby, don't worry, You are my only. You won't be lonely - Even if the sky is falling!" Rebekah sang softly as her golden eyes stared into his and suddenly they were the only ones in the room. "Baby, are you down, down, down, down, down?" She muttered against his lips as she pulled him into a kiss.

"You don't know how down I am, my heart." He told her and she laughed.

And there they stood, dancing the night away, under the happy eyes of their family and friends.

Everything was right in their world.

Finally.
