Kai didn't know how to take the information given to him. "Isn't that a good thing?" the older Omega asked, confused. Darren mumbled a bit before saying the things out aloud "Yes, but Olajide went crazy when I showed him the positive test, he remained quiet and decided to take me to the hospital yesterday evening for a check-up. When the doctor confirmed it. He just thanked the doctor and took me back home. And, and ... I don't know, he just went even more crazy. He said I was cheating on him with another guy and called me names like slut and bitch."
Kai listened dearly, feeling this sense of pity and sorry for his friend in front of him. 'But the bruises' he thought for a moment. "What about the bruises?" Darren kept quiet contemplating with himself whether to confess or just find an excuse. "Got into a fight with some people," Darren admitted, bowing his head to stare at the floor.
Kai raised a brow, showing that he didn't believe a single word coming from the guy's mouth. "What happened?" He asked again, more serious and concerned. "He hit me," Darren replied quietly.
The look in Kai's eyes screamed what the fuck in every way, he was confused. Olajide didn't look like the person to beat up his Omega to a pulp while pregnant with His own pup on top of that. "Was he drunk?" "No, "High?" "No," "Are you sure he doesn't do substances?" "Yes, I'm sure" This kept on going for minutes until Duke's voice thundered in the room catching the Omega's off guard. "Kai" he called in a domineering voice. "Yes, Alpha" the Omega answered, bowing his head, something he never did even when the older man used his Alpha voice on him which was rare.
Duke moved closer to the two, paying more attention to Kai than the beat-up Darren. The Alpha talked again this time in a softer tone," What are we going to do now?" Kai raised his head. The tone was still commanding, it looked as if Duke didn't even notice he was still using the voice on him for some reason. "I don't know Alpha, maybe we should keep him here until Olaji calms down" He opted, already knowing what Duke was going to say.
"You know damn well we can't do so, he is his property since the time they mate which was like three fucking months ago. They have sealed the bond completely and getting it removed is going to be painful and expensive!" the older man announced giving little to no space to the Omega to fight back. Duke looked at Darren for a couple of minutes before asking "Your parents?" The youngest answered, "They were the ones that signed the ownership contract for KSI". The two other people in the room sighed loudly since there was no other way to go through with it at this point.
They remained silent, thinking about what they could actually do at this point. Duke still had the threatening smell to himself and Kai was finally able to raise his head. "Are you okay with removing the mark?" Kai asked.
The removal of a bond and a bite mark could have the worst kind of reaction, from the Alpha and also from the Omega. The Omega could start becoming delirious, aggressive and uncontrollable, this could lead to forcing the submissive to be locked inside of an asylum for the rest of their life. If the crisis prolonges and no medication is given, this could turn into an excruciating pain, slowly leading up to an early death if not instant.
On the other hand, the Alpha will feel a sense of emptiness, but for their good, it can be filled if they actually find a compatible significant other. If the Alpha cannot find someone to fill the void, they may become depressed or even start to lose control. It is important to weigh these risks carefully before making a decision about removing a bond or a bite mark.
"I take back what I said, no bond annulment!" Kai shouted after thinking of the things that could happen. "Then what?" Darren asked annoyed, he was tired, hurting and annoyed. Nothing was being done, option after option, one worse than the one before. His head felt heavy from the continuous questions he was receiving.
"I'll take the annulment and stay on medication till I find someone else!" the youngest decided, placing a hand on his stomach protectively. Duke looked at the younger man astonished. "Do you know what can happen?" the Alpha asked. "Yes!" Darren answered, closing the conversation. "Then we'll go tomorrow".
The night was long, the only person sleeping comfortably was Fanum. Kai and Darren were in the living room talking to each other while Duke was in his personal room.
Duke was on his phone, talking to his mother about his changes. He had noticed he wasn't acting like himself anymore, he became more territorial and he hated anyone that would go near Kai or Fanum. He told her his scent was more commanding and tense so as his voice he couldn't control it anymore. The woman simply told him to calm down and see a doctor but that wasn't enough to reassure the man who simply left the house passing in front of his Omega and not coming back till the morning after.
"I thought you promised to stop fucking vanishing out of nowhere!" Kai screamed at the man emerging from the door of the living room. "It's none of your fucking business, now get back to your work!" Duke screamed back, he looked pissed off and tired. "What the fuck?" Kai remarked, shocked at the harsh words of his mate. "I said get back to what you were fucking doing!" his alpha repeated his words closing the space between the two of them.
He tried, he really did try to fight the urge to do whatever the man told him but nothing, without even thinking he was already in the room of his kids getting them ready for the day. His body moved like a robot which had a single mod pre-installed to take care of the babies.
"Kai" a soft voice called him, it came from the door behind him, "What do you want?" the Omega asked looking behind him to look at a scared Darren. "I'm sorry!" he said, walking inside of the room. "For what?" Kai asked, sitting on the rocking chair holding Jaiden in his arms. "I... I feel like it's my fault if he is treating you like this" Darren answered with no emotions to follow his words.
The boy looked dead. No feelings, no emotions, just a body.
"It's not!" Kai remarked looking down at Jaiden who was happily feeding himself off of Kai, with a small hand on his breast. "He's just been acting weird, it's fine. By the way, have you eaten?" Darren nodded, he knew Kai was lying, it was obvious. His friend was simply trying to change the topic so he didn't have to think too much about it. He quietly left the room and went back to the kitchen to cook something for everybody to eat.
The day passed smoothly after the morning alteration from Duke. The tension in the room, every room where Duke was present felt heavy and overwhelming.
Speed had his mating mark and bond physically and chemically removed from him, the effect of it where almost instant and painful. The poor man was crying uncontrollably, he described the pain like a billion needles being stabbed and wiggled around under his skin. After the initial pain, more pain submerged to the surface. This time it felt more raw.
It was his inner Omega screaming for some sort of cure, the pain of being forced to detach from the person his inner Omega regarded as a perfect match for himself, was more intense, more blood-curdling and incurable he thought. Then fear overcame all the feelings he was having.
The fear of his, now, ex Alpha, searching for him to ask why he had done so, or tell him he had no right to make this decision and force a mating bite around his neck. Maybe the fear of losing the child he was carrying for the person he thought he loved. 'What if they don't make it' his Omega asked in some sort of way to guilt trip him. The only person he had at the moment was Kai, sitting next to him on the hospital bed.
Speed's reaction to the pain was so severe he had to be admitted for a couple of days to monitor his health and his unborn pup. "How are you doing now?" Kai asked, sniffing the air to see if the smell of burnt sugar was still in the room. "I'm okay" his friend confirmed drowsily, sleep taking over his mind and body before all he could see was black.
The second day he was at the hospital, he was alone. Kai had to follow Fanum and Duke for some hospital appointments on the other side of the town. So in simple words, he was alone, with no one to help if he was in need. The hospital after all was calm, no noise and no single soul or footstep could be heard from the corridor.
"Darren" a deep voice called, the voice was dry and crunchy, it sounded painful to talk. Then again the voice repeated his name, more needy and desperate. Another time filled with anger and fury. The poor Omega was stuck on the bed by different monitors controlling his blood flow and heartbeat, drips connected to his veins; he wasn't able to move away.
His attention moved to the door, curious to know who was calling for him.
He knew who it was.
But simple denial blinded him until it was too late.
Before he could even see enough of the face that he thought he loved the man already found his hands around Darren's neck. a stronghold that could have killed him in a few seconds if the alpha wanted to.
KSI or Olajide, the name one loved to call every day until the drastic change was hovering over him, holding his neck tightly and cutting off his airflow. "Why?" the older man's voice broke while saying the word. "Why did you leave?" he asked. Darren just stared shocked and scared not knowing what to do, unable to speak or make any sound worth to be called an answer.
"Please" Darren croaked out, scratching the hands still on his neck until the man slightly released his grasp. Speed took the moment to search for something on the nightstand next to him, his fingers wrapped around a flask he was given earlier that morning and with a swift move, he hit the older man on the head making the man lose his balance.
"HELP!" Speed screamed at the top of his lungs, his back facing the door but his front facing the older man to protect himself from any other attack. "Please, just leave" He pleaded, feeling the pain of the slowly fading bond reappear because of Olajide. "No one is going to help you. They called me to come and pick you up, baby. You are mine!!" Olajide ranted.
He had lost it completely. HE was the one that had gone into full psychosis because of the pain. He was the one suffering it. It felt right to Darren even tho something told him he should have been the one to have suffered for defying his Alpha's rules with no permission.
"What do you want?" Daren asked again, he just wanted for the older man to leave his room and disappear, leaving no trace behind him. "You and my baby. MY two wonderful belongings" The Alpha admitted, the man's pupils were none existent from the delirious fade. Olajide was making his way closer, a smile showing his fangs ready to bite and hands ready to pin down the young Omega.
Lucky for Daren that was the moment the door swung open and some security guys came inside of the room to hold down his Alpha while some doctor had to sedate the man to stop moving. Speed looked at the man lying on the floor in pity before he was snapped out of his thoughts by someone asking him how he was doing.
"I'm alright, thanks!" Je replied, making his way to sit on the roughed-up hospital bed.
The rest of his day passed by roughly. From doctors barging inside of his room to check on him, and make sure all his drips were in and still working. a psychiatrist staring at him and asking how he felt about the situation but there was nothing he could say at the moment.
So it went on until the next day when he woke up after barely sleeping for an hour to a lawyer, this time, handing him a bunch of papers.
"What's this?" Darren asked confused while sitting up on the bed to take a closer look at the mix of unreadable words in front of him.
"Lawsuit" was all he got for an answer.
