I Think It Would Be Refreshing

"I think being different, going against the grain of society is the greatest thing in the world." - Elijah Wood

I think it would be refreshing

If the politicians admitted a mistake

But of course they live in a world of lies

In which they'll either make or break.

I think it would be refreshing

If someone said "it's not me, it's you"

When breaking up with a lover

Instead of not being true.

I think it would be refreshing

If teachers admitted you won't need this

Unless you become a research anaylyst for astronomers

Or something else you're bound to dismiss.

I think it would be refreshing

If a vicar prayed that God was wrong

Told the audience that even God makes errors

Rather than saying that He will remain strong.

I think it would be refreshing

If everyone told the truth

A world where trust was in a person's word

Instead of needing deceptive proof.

I think it would be refreshing

If we broke the current trend

We should smile to strangers and wear what we want

Let's stand out in the world, my friend.
