Adaugo's POV

"Where do you think you are going to?" I heard the all-to-familiar voice of my husband behind me, somewhat shocked by his presence in the house. He was usually at work by this time.

What was he doing at home by this time? It was just eleven a.m. for Christ's sake.

"I'm going out with some work friends," I spoke in my most polite tone with a fake sweet smile plastered on my face. "Why are you at home by this time of the day, my dear husband?"

He looked at me, examining my outfit - a white slightly over-sized corporate shirt with blue jean trousers that had slits on each side of the trouser and white sneakers. I thought it suited me well and complimented my fairly slim figure and light skin.

"I'm inviting a business friend over," he announced.

I scrunched up my face in disgust. "The one I know or another one?"

"The one you know," he said effortlessly.

I inhaled deeply and sighed. "Have a nice day, Mr. Jide." I started walking out of the dining room where I had been standing but his voice stopped me.

"I did not give you permission to leave, Mrs. Adegun."

I turned to him sharply. "So I should stay here and watch you mingle with your business friend?" I sounded pissed.

His stern face melted a bit. "You are not meant to have a problem with this. Get your act together! At least for the children."

I laughed a loud sarcastic laugh. His statement was truly funny, to me, at least. "Children?! The children?!"

I gave him an eye-roll. "Make sure you round things up with your business friend before the children get back home."

With that, I hissed and stormed out of the house, making sure to shut the door loudly behind me.

A/N:

Very short chapter, I know.

What do you think their cryptic conversation was actually about? There are a lot of complications surrounding this situation and conversation, actually.

Anyway, thank you for reading. Please don't forget to vote and comment.

How do see Adaugo so far? Oh wait, where are my manners?! How do you see Mrs. Adaugo so far?

What about Mr. Jide?

Tell me your thoughts.

I love you all.
