Slowly and carefully I laid her on the bed making sure not to wake her up.
Seeing her in my arms, safe and peaceful just gave me another life.
She was sleeping so innocently for the first time after I met her. Every night I hear her crying and shouting due to nightmares and night terrors. My heart ached with pain at her every single cry for help but I could not help her. I promised to keep her safe but I could not save her from her nightmares!
Tonight when I saw a Russian guard lying dead in my house and she wasn't around, I felt my whole world shattering at my feet.
I could not tell how devastated my heart felt at the thought of losing her again.
I could not imagine what I would have done to Dmitry if he laid his hands on Hazel.

Flashback
Terry and I were in my secret room looking for the gift grey left for us on my laptop, suddenly the thought of Hazel struck me.
A Russian guy was lying dead in my house, which I certainly sent by Dmitry. Then I remembered Hazel's text message.
"Terry, track my car right now!" I shouted.
The last thing I want right now is Dmitry kidnapping Hazel!
I did underestimate Dmitry!
"Why? What happened?" he asked while tracking my car.
"Hazel...hazel is not around. She said she was going to meet someone. I don't have a great feeling about this!" I told him.
"I'll track her you go and check maybe she has come back?" He suggested.
I went outside my room calling guards and checking every corner of the house.
But no she wasn't in the house!
No one saw her coming back!
"What happened, Aiden?" Mary asked looking at my devastated state.
"Have hazel called you?" I asked.
"No! I haven't seen her since the dance!" she said.
"Why are you asking what happened to her?" she asked almost crying.
"She went to see someone but didn't come back!" I said.
"No! It's my fault you told me to keep an eye on her!" she cried.
"No it's not your fault, don't worry we'll find her!" I assured her.
"The car's location is of some old cemetery" Terry shouted while running towards me.
"Get the cars ready!" I ordered the guard.
"Let me come with you," Mary said.
"No! We don't know what's there! We can risk taking you there!" I told her.
"Please!"
"Just be here! We'll bring her back" I assured myself more than her.
"Don't come without her!" she ordered while wiping her tears.
I nodded.
"Let's go!" I said to Terry.
My heart was beating insanely all the way to the cemetery.
My mind was showing me heart-wrenching images of hazel no matter how hard I tried to brush them off.
Suddenly it started raining.
"Please be safe angel" I whispered hoping it would reach her.
"For me"
I practically ran out of the car as soon as we reached the cemetery.
"Search the whole place!" I ordered.
"Eliminate any threat"
Terry handed me an umbrella before I started searching for Hazel like a dead crazy.
"Take it, buddy! It's raining hard"
It was dark but my eyes landed on my car.
Crashed with a tree!
I ran towards it.
The front of the car was destroyed but no traces of hazel.
"Where are you, Hazel?"
"Aiden!" Terry called.
I ran towards him and saw in the direction he was pointing at.
A sill figure came into my vision.
It was her!
My angel!
She was sitting, fully drenched in front of a tombstone.
"Get her we'll wait here," Terry said patting my shoulder.
I could not tell how relieved I felt at that time.
It felt like...like I got my life back.
I was able to breathe again.
I walked towards her slowly and stood quietly beside her guarding her from cold rain.
She looked up at me through her wet eyelashes.
For a few moments neither she said anything nor did I.
I just wanted to take her all in.
She seemed so fragile, so vulnerable at that point that it seemed I would break her just by my words.
"What are you doing here?" she asked with her cracking voice. Maybe broke due to crying. I could see her swollen eyes.
"I could ask you the same," I said keeping my eyes as soft as I could while helping her to get up.
"I told you I was going to meet my old friend," she said but I couldn't focus on her words when I saw blood dripping from her cheek.
"I was kind of high...when I was driving your car...so instead of hitting breaks I hit the race and it collided with the tree. I'm sorry its condition is bad" she explained but it wasn't the truth.
A lie.
But at that moment I didn't care about anything but just her.
"Come on let's go home," I said.
I made her sit securely in my car and covered her with a blanket.
Just halfway she fell asleep.
End of flashback
"Change her into some comfortable clothes," I told Mary while coming out of Hazel's room.
"Okay," she said and went inside.
"Try not to wake her up" I added, she smiled and nodded.
I took a breath of relief and walked towards my room to clear the mess.
"Everything's fine?" Terry asked as I entered the room.
"Yeah," I said.
"Take it you need this" he handed me a glass of vodka and I drank it in one go.
"Did you crack the code of the laptop?" I asked.
"You love her don't you?" he said ignoring my question.
His question was more like a statement.
No room for denying it now.
"Did I make it that obvious?" I said pouring the alcohol.
"You went crazy when you couldn't find her. God knows what you would have done if we couldn't find her!" he said dramatically.
"You do love her buddy!"
"I do" I confessed.
I love her!
From the very first time I saw her, I realized it when she was gone. I realized it when my angel left me!
I'm so much in love with her.
"Any new information about file or Grey?" I said switching the topic.
He smiled and said, "I think I have cracked Grey's secret gift!"
