Remus tilted his head back, letting a pained groan slip from his lips - Sirius was applying healing salves to Remus' new wounds: a pair of angry red gashes, that slashed down his well-muscled, lean chest which was laid bare in all its tan, freckled glory. He sat up, exposing his back which was marred with fading scars from his lycanthropy. The muscles of his back were bunched up and tense; oh no, the cramps this would cause. But Remus never prioritized himself.
"Did I hurt anyone?" He murmured.
"No one, don't worry" Sirius answers knowing his friend is worried that he hurt any human being "Your wife will come in a second" he teases him to make the atmosphere less tense. Sirius was talking about Remus' girlfriend who was so worried that right now she was probably stealing some stuff from the infirmary to heal Moony.
"She's not my wife... yet" Remus muttered, even if his cheeks had turned a cute rosy pink color, and he tried to scowl at his best friend. Sirius was correct though, and the thought of her, and her fussing over Remus right now, did fill him with a contented feeling in his chest.
"Yet?" Sirius chuckles "Are you planning to ask her or something?" he just plays around while cleaning his own bloody hands with a wet towel.
They have been dating for about two years and in two months all the Marauders will graduate including her so it was very exciting but scary to stop being a student.
"Just stop, OK? This isn't the time to talk about this... I'm in pain over here man" Remus said in a slightly annoyed voice, but it was more playful than anything - as Sirius knew full well.
"And I can't deny or confirm anything for that matter... just shush" Remus muttered before a knock came at the door of the room that the two occupied and Sirius knew exactly who was on the other side of it.
I knocked on the door again and Sirius was the one who opened the door.
"Did you just steal everything you saw on the way here?" He says chuckling because she was carrying medical supplies, food, and even potions "he is not going to spend a week in bed you know"
I just roll my eyes and put everything on the nightstand "But I want him to be comfortable" I say touching my boyfriend's messy hair "How are you?" I ask him worried
A contented smile lit up his face as he saw her enter. Despite the circumstances of their meeting, it still brought a smile to his face whenever he saw her, heard her, or even talked about her.
Remus' face twisted slightly on the side, pain lacing the edges of his eyes, and a small wince escaping his lips as he shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm fine. I'll be better once the cramps die down though. Or the fever. Or the nausea... Oh the nausea" He said, trying and failing to downplay his pain.
"That's why I bring all of this" I have been doing some research in potions and I tried to Moony feel pleasant after the transformation "Take this it will take some of the symptoms" I give him a blue potion.
"Thank you, sweetheart," Remus said, reaching out for the potion that she was holding. Even though she was the sweetest, most caring girl he had ever known, Remus couldn't help but let out a chuckle.
"Of course, you've been doing a ton of research, like usual. You're obsessed my love" Remus chuckled.
I blush and chuckle "Shut up and just drink what I tell you" We've been together for two years now so he knows me well.
"Well now that you have your nurse here... I will be in the common room if you need me" Sirius says not wanting to interrupt the couple.
I clean some of his wounds and put a paste to reduce the pain.
"Yes mum" Remus joked, before he did as she asked him to, and sipped the potion down. Sirius was already out of the room, and Remus turned to look at Kiara again - there was something in his stomach that always went up a notch whenever he looked at her, and this was no different. She had a look of concern on her face, as always, and he smiled.
"Thanks for being here" He murmured.
I just shake my head, I always get to worry a lot but he was the love of my life. Of course, I have the right to worry.
"Always" I smile sweetly at him and take out a chocolate for him knowing he is just obsessed with them.
"Ah, the way to my heart. Chocolate... you know me so well" Remus grinned, taking the chocolate out of her hands before popping it into his mouth. It was the little things like this that made Kiara, well, Kiara. She was the one person for Remus who did care about him, and who made the world brighter for him; even when it wasn't so bright to begin with.
He looked at her while she just took care of him and felt she was just perfect "Marry me"
I chuckle when I finish and just look at his beautiful eyes "Just because I brought you chocolate? I should started there early I guess" I joke and touch his hand knowing he was just fooling around.
"No, because you're you" Remus chuckled, squeezing her hand.
The two were always messing around and playing silly games with each other. It never failed to make them both smile - or make them both blush either.
"I'm serious, you know I don't say things like that unless I actually mean it" Remus looked at her with love "So marry me."
I was confused "What do you mean Moony?" I ask with a grin, he was joking. I know he was joking but he looks so serious about it. He was a mess in that instant with some dried blood in his body, fresh scars, and sweating still but for me he was perfect, he was my mess.
"Don't move, tell me what you need honey" I said when he tried to open the nightstand next to him to look for something.
"Kiara... I'm not joking" Remus murmured - he had no intention of ever joking about something like this.
Remus tried to stop himself from reaching for the nightstand as his muscles and limbs protested in pain and aches. Yet she did not realize that he was trying to reach out for the ring box that he had stored away in there.
With all the pain he had he reached for a small wooden box making realize he was not joking. Was he planning this or why he had that?
My heart stopped for a second and look at him opening it with a beautiful ring, but stay quiet with some watery eyes smiling.
Despite the pain, the sweat, and the fatigue, there was genuine happiness on Remus' face, as he saw that beautiful smile on Kiara's face.
"I may be a mess right now... I know I'm a mess... but please... just say yes" Remus murmured, with trembling breath; he couldn't help but feel somewhat nervous and excited.
I just laughed "You are a perfect mess" I kissed him and hugged him carefully to not squeeze him that much "Yes, I want to marry you, you have no idea how much" I shook while he just put the ring on my hand.
Remus was ecstatic. He felt like the world was on his side and that everything was working out - at that moment, the sun had come out and the world made sense. This was the happiest moment of his life, besides the day Kiara came into his life.
"I love you so much" he murmured - the words were not enough to describe what he actually felt.
"I love you" We kissed and just enjoyed the moment where our history began but a knock on the door made us stop for a second.
"Can we come in?!" James says excitedly while Sirius and Peter's voices are behind him. I guess the three of them heard the proposal making me laugh.
"Sure..." Remus muttered before rolling his eyes. They'd been caught in the act, and of course, the other Marauders were going to be over the top about it - James especially.
"Get out the champagne! The two lovebirds have got things to celebrate" James exclaimed, and Sirius and Peter just entered, grinning from ear to ear and full of glee.
