The sun was high in the sky as it was nearing noon, and it was a peaceful day at the monastery... well almost peaceful if it weren't for the sounds of blades crashing on the courtyard as the ninja were currently training.
It had been about 2 to 3 days since boboiboy had used spinjitzu for the first time, with him training to get better at it! Speaking of which, he was currently sparing with lloyd while kai spared with zane and jay with Cole.
In the few days he's been living with the ninja he's grown quite close to the group, pranking the others with lloyd, playing videogames with kai, jay & cole, and cooking with zane; infact he was helping teach zane his own language in case of emergencies..
However whether that emergency was cole cooking or them fighting and wanting to tell each other something so the enemy won't know was a mystery.
Wu--who had been sitting nearby, watching the group spar--would get up, grabbing the attention to the ninja mid-fight. However boboiboy and lloyd couldn't help but giggle when they heard jay yelp. Since he was about to try and land a hit on cole only only for when cole moved to look over at wu out of confusion of what was up, but ended up facing on his face instead.
Cole would simply smile, rubbing the back of his neck as he helped jay back on his feet.
Wu would slightly shake his head in reaction, "I think that's enough for today, you may all take a break now" he'd say, turning around and walking inside.
While one could call it strange why wu suddenly left, it was because he had mentioned that he had some important research to do; it was unknown what he's researching, but clearly it wasn't something they should bother him with questions about.
Meanwhile the ninja--excluding boboiboy--would look at one another before nodding.
"Hey! Boboiboy! Wanna head to the arcade?" Lloyd asked, running up to the dino boy with a smile.
Boboiboy would smile brightly in return, "Heck yeah!! What about you guys, wanna join?" The elemental boy replied, turning to the rest of the boys to ask if they wanted to join.
"Sorry guys, I have to go to the grocery store to refill the fridge, have fun though" Zane said, walking back inside to most likely get changed out of his ninja gi and wear some regular clothing.
"Same here- although not because of grocery! Me and kai here were gonna go and uhh.." jay began, pausing to try and kind of an excuse. "Go and vist this idiots parents" kai continued for the lightning ninja.
"Yeah we're going vist- hey!" Jay exclaimed, realizing what the fire ninja had said. Kai simply stuck his tongue out and ran inside, with jay angerly chasing after him.
The three remaining on the courtyard would just laugh as they watched the duo leave. Cole would then sigh, patting the duo on each of their heads with a smile.
"Yeah sorry but same here, nya needed some "heavy lifting" metal regarding some repairs" Cole explained, with boboiboy sighing as a result; well at least he had lloyd with him.
"However.. before I do go.. Lloyd, no using your appearance to drive or do anything under 18, you're still a kid you know" Cole said, crossing his arms as he gave the green ninja a look. "Oh come on it was one time!" Lloyd exclaimed, much to boboiboy's somewhat surpise.
"And boboiboy please don't do anything stupid, I don't need to find you and lloyd in the hospital later... and no lloyd don't try and "why would I end up there" we both know how reckless you can be" Cole continued, and the elemental boy would giggle as he rubbed the back of her neck, meanwhile the green ninja just stuck his tongue out at the earth ninja.
"Welp ima go help nya now, you two have fun- and lloyd please get changed into some casual clothing before you go! And don't use your elemental powers in public!" Cole said, before finally leaving the dual alone.
Soon after Lloyd ran inside and got changed while boboiboy made sure they had enough money--aka Lloyd's allounce--to actually do stuff, mabey even have some fun afterwards.
Once lloyd was changed--now wearing a green Hoodie, black jeans and shoes--before finally running out the monastery's gates, with boboiboy following behind him.
Of course we can't forget that fact that our hero was borrowing clothes, as he was wearing a grey jacket, white oversized shirt with a orange noodle eating cat imprint on it--most likely from kai--and black jeans and shoes from lloyd, of course we can't forget his iconic dino hat aswell.
All the while lloyd couldn't help but smile as he remembered what him and others agreed on.

~~flashback to almost two days ago~~

"So how is ordering the new gi's going?" Kai jokingly asked, meanwhile zane simply sighed. "Well it's going just fine, should be here by.. friday?.." Zane said, checking the calendar once again.
"Seriously? That's fast" the fire ninja remarked, joining zane on the couch.
Since boboiboy didn't exactly have a room in the monastery yet, the group decided to let him stay in kai's until they could get one ready; no matter how much boboiboy rejected the idea of forcing the older out his room.
Which was kinda why there were extra blankets and pillows on the couch with them.
"Well what did you expect? Ninjago's mail and shipping happens to be pretty fast.. concerning fast sometimes.." the ice ninja remarked, still using the laptop that sat on his lap.
"Did you get boboiboy's new uniform?" Kai asked, resulting in zane chuckling. "Of course, I wouldn't forget our new little brothers first gi" he'd reply, with kai sighing in relief.
"Good.. I can't wait to see the look on his face when he gets it!" Kai continued with a smile. Zane shaked his head in response, "you act as if we're celebrating some sort of event or something" the nindroid commented.
"Well aren't we?.."
That question hung in the air for a while as kai and zane thought for a moment. "We could! We never exactly were able to give him a good welcoming party yet.. did we?" Zane asked, with kai shaking his head as a "no".
"Hm.. very well, I think I can bake a cake aswell as cook some food for the occasion.. you think you can handle decor?" The ice ninja decided, with kai smiling.
"Uh heck yeah!!- and jay could help me!! You know what?! I say we get others in on it too!...plus, I think there's this old room the monastery not far down the hall from where sensei wu's.. mabey my sis and cole can repair it while we're gone.. ooo we could fill it with furniture too!!.. come on let's buy some right now!!" Kai rambled, clearly the most excited about this.
Zane laughed, "okay! Calm down kai, we don't need to order any furniture now, I'm sure we can buy some tomarrow or let boboiboy decide what he wants himself" he'd suggest.
And that's when it was decided, they would secretly make a little welcoming party without boboiboy knowing.
However, little did they know just how chaotic it could be.

--kai & jay--
The duo--having been tasked to go and collect party decorings--walked out of a store; holding multiple bags in their hands.
"That was shockingly easy!" Kai joked, walking backwards with a smile on his face. He was wearing sunglasses, a black leather jacket with flame imprints on it, black jeans and a red T-shirt.
They hadn't run into boboiboy and lloyd yet despite all their buying, and were walking down the street now.
"Hey don't jinx it now!" Jay exclaimed, looking around to make sure he didn't see the duo anywhere nearby; and thankfully not. He was wearing a skyblue oversized sweater that had a white line in the middle, dark blue jeans, and a blue beanie.
But it was too now, as kai had already jinxed it.
And it wasn't long till they had caught glimpse of a orange and green wearing duo approaching them nearby.
"Kai! Jay! Hey!" Boboiboy called out, waving at the duo.
"Oh first spinjitzu master- you just had to jinx us huh kai?!" Jay exclaimed, with kai not wasting time to turn around and start running, with jay soon following in suite.
"Hey! Wait!" Boboiboy yelled, before trying to chase after the duo. "Boboiboy!" Lloyd cried out, following behind the elemental boy.
Lloyd was actually really thankfully cole told them not to use their elemental powers now, otherwise boboiboy would've caught up to those two a lot faster than he could now.
And if it weren't for the quick turn and alleyway, he would've.
"Huh.. where did they go?.." the elemental boy muttered, turning a corner only to not see the fire and lightning duo there.
"Boboiboy...huff.. why did you just run off??.." lloyd questioned, pausing midway from trying to chase after the other; just why did he have to eat all those chocolate and pretzels he gained from the arcade.
"Oh lloyd... sorry about that! I thought I saw kai and Jay, that's all!" The elemental boy replied, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly as he turned to face the green ninja.
"Yeah well.. you wanna go get something to drink? All that running and snacks made me thirsty" lloyd asked, already walking off with soda on his mind.
Boboiboy simply laughed, lloyd definitely got that from cole didn't he? "Okay! Just don't drink it all at once, you might puke if you keep that up!" He'd joke, following behind lloyd, who simply made a face at the thought.

"That... was close" kai whispered, both him and jay hiding in an alleyway with their backs against a wall.
"Tell me about it.." jay spat back, still mad that kai would jinx them like that.
The fire ninja would simply chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly before remebering something.
"Wait- did you call zane yet to ask if he was done with the shopping?" Kai asked, to which the blue ninja would look confused.
"I thought you did" he'd return, with kai sighing as a result, before finally pulling out his phone.

Zane was minding his own business, doing a bit of a review of what he had in the grocery buggy to see if he was missing anything.
He was currently wearing a grey long-sleeve shirt with the sleeves rolled up to below the elbow, a black face mask, black sweatpants with a white line going down it and boots that were mostly hidden under the sweatpants.
Because of the recent event he didn't need to hide from the public eye, although it was a lot harder for him to live life more normally than the others now; mostly since he was made of titanium now.
Nonetheless though, thankfully some of ninjagos citizens understood the meaning between work and time off.
The nindroid was however dragged out his thoughts but a sudden notification.
|"Zane, it appears kai is calling you.. do you want to answer it?"| pixel informed, with a smile forming on zanes face--even if nobody could see it--as a result.
|"of course, I wonder if they finished shopping for decorations anyway"| zane replied, glad that both he and pixel could have a conversation without anybody thinking he was crazy now.
After they got back to the monastery a few days ago, nya and solar were able to help him upgrade his connect with pixel without having to actually talk.
Which did infact help a bunch.
|"I am actually curious if they had got done aswell.."| pixel remarked, before finally answering the call for zane.
"Hey zane! So how's grocery going?" Kai joked, with zane sightly shaking his head for a moment at the other.
|"it's actually going pretty smoothly, I'm almost done and I should be back at the monastery as soon as I can get through a line"| zane replied, with him soon hearing laughing from the other side of the call afterwards.
|"so how are things going on your end?"| zane asked, hearing a sort of long 'uhh' before hearing Jay yell "kai here almost got us caught by boboiboy!"; As the phone had picked it up as background noise.
|"is that so.."| the ice ninja merely remarked, before hearing kai nervously laugh.
"Yeah, but the kid still doesn't know so I'd say the mission is still a go!" The fire ninja replied, and zane could hear a bit of shuffling from kai's end; most likely from the duo moving over some trash as they left the alleyway.
"Well we'll meet you at the monastery later, Kay zane.. zane?" Kai continued, however, confused by the lack of response from the ice ninja.
However, little did the hothead know that something had caught zane's eye just was he was pushing the buggy to the register.
Soon realizing he kinda left kai hanging there, zane quietly chuckled |"sorry kai, kinda spaced out for a minute there, see you at the monastery"| he'd reply, before finally ending the call.
|"zane.. are you really going to-"| pixel began only for zane to quickly reply with |"yes, it would be a nice gift don't you think?"|.
She would simply think for a moment before nodding in agreement.

Meanwhile back at the monastery it was actually decently loud inside!
Cole and nya were remodeling the room, having recently replaced the once rotting wooden floor with new wood, and were now focused on replacing the wallpaper; which hadn't had as much damage as the floor for some reason.
"Fsm.. you'd think sensei would've taken a lot more care into this room.. how'd kai find out about it anyway?" Cole asked, turning to face nya for a moment. He was wearing blue overalls with a dirt brown shirt and boots.
"I'm not actually sure myself... he never exactly told me how he found out about it.. but I'm glad we're able to put it to some use" nya replied, having been working on the task of bringing in more of the willpaper the duo had gotten the day before. She was wearing white overalls with a shirt with a faded and dirty blue color to it, aswell as boots.
"Are you sure we'll ever get this thing done by the end of the day?.. I mean, won't this stuff need a while to stick?" Nya asked, with cole simply laughing in return.
"Of course we will ny! Ninja never quit! remeber?" The earth ninja replied, and the mechanic couldn't help but smile.
"You guys sure are determined... right! Let's do this and make this place look better than when we entered!" Nya continued, thinking back to how ugly the room had looked when they had first entered it.

~~flashback to earlier that morning~~

"Are you sure there's even a room back here? All I see is a bookshelf" Cole remarked, looking at the end of the hallway. There was no way a bedroom was there! Just no way!
"Well it's what my brother said soo.. come on! Help a girl out here!" She'd reply, walking up to the bookshelf before trying to pull it back; even if it was barely budging.
The earth ninja was debating on whether or not he could actually help, cause what if kai was wrong and they just pulled a random bookshelf out of a wall?!
Finally he gave in and sighed,"Alright! But let's take everything out and off first! I don't want to get wu more upset than he could be if he finds out we ripped out a bookshelf our of a wall" he'd say, walking up to the bookshelf and taking the books off it; with nya nodding in agreement before helping him.
. . .
It took a little while, but they managed to take everything off the bookshelf and gave each other a fist bump before finally trying to pull it out from where it stood once again.
At first cole thought this was pointless, until he actually felt it move.
And it wasn't long till the duo fell back, with Cole catching the bookshelf before it actually fell on top of them.
"Thanks cole!" Nya exclaimed, moving out the way while cole moving the bookshelf over to the side with a quick "no problem!".
The duo however, was not expecting to see a boarded up shoji door awaiting them where the bookshelf once stood however.
Normally shoji doors were ment to have windows around them, with the doorway being amongst them.. but this.
It was as if someone deliberately hid it.
"Well.. he was telling the truth" Cole remarked, getting up with the help of nya. "Seems like it" she'd reply, intrigued by the door herself.
The earth ninja would then step towards it before pulling the boards off the door, finally he'd push it open, before irrupting in a coughing fit soon after.
Only three words could describe this room: rotten, dusty and old.
"Strange.. other than the cob webs this room is completely empty-" cole commented, though his "empty" soon turned into a yelp as he fell through the floor.
"Cole!! Are you okay?!" Nya exclaimed, running behind the earth ninja, but being careful not to step into the room.
"Yeah I'm fine! I'm the elemental master of earth after all, this is nothing!... I don't think these floorboards are though.." cole replied, looking back down at the rotten wood he attempted to stand on.
|"why on earth would someone try to hide a room.. let alone wu.."| nya couldn't help but wonder, finding it strange that someone would just leave a room like this.

It was late in the afternoon now, and all the ninja were back at the monastery expect the youngest duo.
Speaking of the monastery, orange and gold colored it as decorations hanged about, aswell as being set up around the monastery; more specifically in the living.
Food was mostly cooked and gifts were left the bed the group had managed to set up in the repaired bedroom.
Now all there was to do was wait.
And they didn't have to wait long as a green and orange duo opened the gate, boboiboy stepping into the monastery's courtyard first with an amazed expression on his face.
"Surpise?" Lloyd said, following in behind boboiboy as the other look at him, now a bit shocked.
"You knew??" The elemental boy exclaimed, meanwhile lloyd kinda just laughed in response before saying "we wanted it to be a surpise".
"Come on, the others are waiting inside!" The green ninja continued, grabbing ahold of boboiboy's wrist and pulling him inside the monastery.
"Well look who finally showed up!" Kai said, alerting the rest of the team to their appearance.
"Lloyd! Boboiboy! Come on!" Jay yelled, currently eating a slice of pizza only to get hit on the back of his head by cole. "Hey! I thought I told you guys not to eat until everyone was here" he'd say, before sighing, it was pointless anyway.
"Welcome back kiddo" Cole greeted, pushing the youngers hat down on his head and ruffling his hair in the process; with the other only laughing and yelling a "hey!" in response.
"Yeah! Hey! That's my thing!" Kai cried out, with cole simply rolling his eyes and ignoring the other.
"Well since the foods ready and everyone's here.. shall we get this party started?" Zane asked, earning some "yes"'s and cheers.

It was night now, most of the ninja had went to bed and our dear hero was just about to enter his new bedroom.
He'd sigh, looking at the orange and gold decor that hung about the shoji door.
It was strange, having a new room in the monastery, nonetheless, he couldn't help but smile. The group were really thoughtful for this, and he wouldn't have to be in kai's room anymore.
So, without another thought he slid the door open; and unlike the first time with Cole and nya, it was less of a struggle. The smell of oranges and fresh paint reaching his nose upon opening it, with him seeing the culprit of te orange smell being an air fresher cole most likely left.
He'd then looked about the room, taking note of the light orange wallpaper that was visible thanks to the opened windows the room had.
However, what truly caught his attention was the bed placed beside the windows, but it wasn't the bed itself that brought his attention, rather what lay atop it.
Seven different gifts, each with a different color wrapping paper on it.
He'd soon approached them, looking at each one of the gifts and their name labels.
|"which one do you guys wanna open first?"| he'd ask, seeing what his elementals thought about this.
|"the green one!! The green one!! I bet it's from lloyd!"| thorn instantly asked, with the others of the ttm sighing as they lost the chance to name out the blue or red ones.
Boboiboy chuckled at thorn's excitement, picking up the box with green plant looking wrapping paper on it, pulling it off and opening the box only to see a lamp with transparent star markings on it.
The elemental boy looked sort of shocked by the item, after all, why would lloyd give him something that cool for him?!
Nonetheless, he planned to thank him later for it, him and the others.
|"okay now the red one! I bet it's from kai!"| blaze exclaimed, with boboiboy not wasting any time to pick up the red present with flames on its wrapping paper.
|"and the blue one too!"| cyclone added, with boboiboy sighing and shaking his head, before finally grabbing the blue box with lightning imprints on its wrapping paper.
Inside the blue box was a packet of comic books that jay most likely bought while he was out today helping kai. As for the gift kai gave him, it was phoenix plush, which made boboiboy mainly confused on where he even got it from.
He decided to open nya's and zanes next, leaving coles to be one of the last considering the mere size of it.
Inside the small box that was wrapped in a dark grey wrapping paper was a pair of headphones and a phone. He couldn't help but feel somewhat embarrassed, mostly from the fact that nya was aware of his lack of a phone currently.
Meanwhile the flat box with white wrapping paper--from zane--had something that made boboiboy smile in reaction to it. Inside the box was a fox onsie, that was clearly his size.
Yeah he was definitely saving that for later.
Lastly was cole's, which was in a huge box with black wrapping paper. Which as it turned out, held a bean bag chair inside.
However, while he was thankful for all the gifts, he hadn't realized the fact that there was still one felt.
"This one is from all of them..." he'd remark, looking at the interesting orange wrapped box.
|"well.. are you going to open it or what?"| thunderstorm remarked, only to get a look from quake.
Well, nonetheless, the elemental boy did open it, and inside it lay an orange ninja uniform(sorta like the ones they wear in possession). "Wha.. they.." boboiboy couldn't find the words, but he smiled brightly at the clothing that sat in the box on his lap.
They really shouldn't have...
But he had to repay them sometime for this! But for now.. he should focus on cleaning up.. and trying to get some sleep.
