Sadé's POV:

— December 18th, 1:53PM

"I don't care." I let out a tired sigh.

"Well, you need to care! Sadé, the video was sold to TMZ and news outlets are all commenting on it like wildfire!" Jordyn argued back.

Jordyn and I were stood in the hallway away from everyone else, arguing. She had pulled me aside to talk to me about how my name was the topic of discussion today because of last night's events. She was in full-blown manager mode, not being able to turn her brain off to be on vacation mode. I, on the other hand, wasn't anywhere near as concerned. It was partially because I was on vacation, but also because I simply did not care... Yea, I beat ole girl up. And?

"Okay? I hope whoever sold it at least got a couple thousand dollars. I'm not a cheap bitch." I shrugged.

"Sadé! I'm serious. Look at this!" She scolded me, shoving her phone in my face.

I grabbed the phone, looking over the trending headlines that I had made the cover of.

Well. I didn't have much to say about what I was looking at. I have no regrets about what I did so I'm not sure what she expected me to say. In fact, I'd do it again if it meant protecting and defending my friend.

Okay, maybe that was a small lie. I did have something to say about it because I don't like how they have to bring my relationship with MarMar into everything I do. Yes, we're dating. So what?! His ways aren't rubbing off on me. This is the first time I've ever been caught lacking like this. So for them to say that I was acting this way because of him was so annoying to me. They know nothing about our relationship or our dynamics. They're just making assumptions for clickbait.

And to refer to him as "Bad Boy Slim Shady" was annoying too. He's not a bad boy. Sure he has his flaws and quirks, but he's the sweetest man I know. I've never even seen Marshall angry, violent, or mean in any way since the day I met him. The meanest I've ever seen him act was when he yelled at my brother. Even when we had that one really bad argument where he raised his voice, it isn't enough to say that he's mean or a bad boy. And I'm not clueless; He's told me about his wild times and troubled past from back in the days. The man isn't innocent. But the whole bad reputation that they keep forcing upon him is simply not true. And he isn't rubbing off on me. I am my own person who chooses her own actions.

So yea, I was slightly bothered by that, but not to the point that I cared about it. It was whatever. Jo on the other hand was still not happy about it.

"Do you see that? It's a bad look for you, girl. Nothing has happened to you this time, but if you slip up again, there can be consequences. That could cause detrimental damage to your career, like losing modeling opportunities, PR deals, collabs, decreasing your value, sponsorships, all of it. This is the type of shit that gets people canceled and then the fall off to nobodies." She angrily went off on me.

"Jo, it was just one time! I'm not sorry for what I did if that's what you're looking for." I fired back.

"Don't get me confused." She pointed her finger at me, "I didn't say I was mad at you for what you did. I don't care if you fight the bitch again or not. I'm mad you got caught. You're a big deal. You can NOT afford to get caught doing ghetto ass shit. Do that shit in private, take that bitch to the alley if you have to. I don't give a FUCK. But don't you let nobody catch you slippin'. ESPECIALLY when there's hoes out here, like her, praying on your downfall." She yelled at me like the big sister she basically is.

And she's completely right. I hadn't thought about it from that standpoint, but she's right. I need to be more cautious and more careful when it comes to my image. As a professional, I normally keep it squeaky clean at all times, but last night got the best of me. I wasn't thinking about my reputation. I could've easily dragged her to the bathroom or waited until she left out of the back of the club so that there wouldn't be an audience. Because Jordyn is right, that was some ghetto ass shit of me. I'm too classy for that; I'm too paid for that; and I'm too well known for that. I could have opportunities taken away from me, she could sue me if she really wanted to. And that could ruin my name for good. I've got to be more aware of my surroundings , and of who's really watching.

"Okay. I'll be more mindful of that next time." I sincerely told her with full understanding of the situation and its aftermath.

And with that she walked away, making some calls and getting a few things situated regarding this whole ordeal. I, on the other hand, walked back to my room to change into the matching pajamas that Corinna had bought all of us.

Before I did any of that though, I googled the phone number to the club to call them. I did apologize to them for destroying some of their furniture and objects, and told them to send me over an invoice of the tab so that I could pay for the damages. I'm a grown woman, I accept my faults and will always take accountability for my actions. The owner was angry yet very understanding and said that he had appreciated it.

Afterwards, I went out to the main living room where all the others girls were, living it up.

It's been a day, and we were doing all the holiday festivities. We had made chocolate chip cookies, tipsy eggnog, and were doing gingerbread house competitions in teams. I didn't drink much today, if at all, because I didn't feel like it so I decided to sit this one out. Plus, the doctor had prescribed me a few painkillers for my hand, meaning I couldn't drink alcohol anyway. That was a big no no - You should never mix medication with other substances. And while I couldn't physically help the girls make the cookies seeing as I only had one able hand at the moment, I was able to verbally help by telling them the recipe and taste-testing everything.

And as for the gingerbread competition, we were in teams of two regardless. I was like that one kid in class that you had to do a project with but didn't put in much effort. I tried my best given the circumstances, however. I one-handedly frosted the entire house, and sprinkled white sprinkles on it to resemble snow. It was still super fun, and I had a blast. I was teamed up with Corinna, who was so good. She would literally win every year so I know that we had this in the bag. The other teams were Megan & Latto, Nella & Hailie, and Bama & Jo. When we were all finished, we grabbed the security guys and had them decide who the winner was. That was the only fair way otherwise, we'd all vote for ourselves. The winning team, as decided by the entire security team, was me & Corinna! Mainly Corinna, but I still technically got the winning title too.

Next, we all did some christmas karaoke. I was vlogging some of the fun, singing Ariana's Santa Baby song. I had noticed a little while ago that Hailie had left to take a phone call and was gone for quite a while. She eventually came back with her phone in her hands, and whispering for me to come to the phone.

"It's Dad. He's furious." She grimaced, "Do you think you can talk to him? He won't listen to understand anything I'm trying to say to him."

"Alright. I'll be back." I replied, taking the phone from her hands and making my way to the indoor garden for more privacy.

I sat down on one of the chairs, wrapping myself in a blanket for warmth. As soon as he heard my voice and heard that I was present on the other line, he started yelling at me. He was livid.

"Hello-"

"SADÉ, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK? WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKIN', GIRL?" He questioned me.

I didn't respond. I remained silent while he continued to yell his lungs out. I had zero interest in arguing with him. To be quite frank, I was over the topic. I had already gotten into it with Jordyn about it so I really didn't want to hear it from somebody else for the second time today. Especially not from Marshall. I know how serious and intense he can be at times, and I isn't want any parts.

"ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING? I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU. YOU GET INTO A BRAWL AT A CLUB AND THEN MY DAUGHTER GETS INVOLVED TOO. MY DAUGH-TER!!!" He exclaimed, pronouncing every syllable in the word daughter to show truly how appalled he was.

"AND THEN ON TOP OF THAT, NEITHER ONE OF YOU TOLD ME SHIT. ARE YOU FUCKING FORREAL RIGHT NOW, YO? SADE I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DON'T HAVE A GOOD EXPLANATION FOR THIS, GIRL - LORD HELP ME."

Only when he was done yelling did I respond to him.

"Are you done yelling? Like, seriously, who do you think you're getting loud with? Because it's not me, love. You know that I will gladly hang up this phone on you, and ignore your ass." I calmly stress to him.

I don't care how mad my man is with me. He is not about to yell at me like I'm just some random girl or don't deserve the utmost respect. He better talk to me nice. I heard him let out a disgruntled sigh as he collected himself and his thoughts.

"My bad, Sae. I'm sorry. But seriously, what were you thinking? Why would you get my daughter involved in that drama? That shit aint cool, yo." He asked in a resentful tone of voice.

"I didn't get her involved in anything. I was defending her." I corrected him.

"NO? Then how did she end up getting hurt? Why was she involved in a fight and having her hair pulled by some chick that you was fighting? Huh? Explain that to me." He quickly spoke, anger evident as he accused me of it all being my fault.

I then went on to take my time to explain everything that had happened last night to him. I told him everything from when I first seen her with her clothes soaked and wet to when she explained who happened to me. I told him how I went down there and defended her like good friend would and like a decent lady would for her boyfriends daughter. I made sure he listen to the full story and listened well since he wouldn't listen to Hailie because he was so distraught at the moment. When he finally understood, he was quiet for some time. The tension between us was real. Neither one of us said anything for what felt like hours.

"Sorry..." Marshall apologized as he broke the silence, "I'm sorry for getting disrespectful with you like that and assuming the worst..." He hesitated.

"Mhmm." I rolled my eyes even though I knew he couldn't see me.

I was over it. I was infuriated and hurt that he would even think like that. That I would purposefully put Hailie, his daughter, in harms way. He knows I don't even get down like that yet here I am with stitches in my hand that was wrapped up from being split open with glass solely because I chose to defend her. I did Not want to talk to him right now or hear anything he had to say - Especially a weak ass apology. I felt so disrespected on so many different levels right now.

"Also, thank you. You know, for fighting for her so that she wouldn't have to. That was super selfless of you."

"Mhmm." I mumbled in a distant tone.

"So is she okay? Are you okay?" He worriedly asked.

"Mhmm. She's fine. She didn't get hit so that's all that matters." I answered him obviously ignoring the last question about myself.

"Are you still mad at me for yelling at you? I said sorry, baby." He peeped my cold demeanor.

"Marshall, that was fucked up of you to assume that. So yes, I am still mad. An apology isn't going to cut it. That was so disrespectful and mean of you. You know that I'd never do that to her or anyone for that matter." I gloomily replied.

"You're right. Sorry isn't going to cut it or fix it. It was wrong of me, but I do apologize because it's all I can do right now. Whether you accept it or not is up to you, baby. You didn't answer my question though: Are you okay, physically?" He stood his ground, repeating himself.

I stayed quiet, not wanting to be fully honest with him. I studied my bruised hand as I debated on if I should tell him or not. I didn't want him worrying about me. However, he was going to see it regardless and would end up questioning me about it until I gave in...

"Sadé. What happened?" He sternly said my name, making me feel intimidated.

I immediately 'fessed up about it, not being able to lie to him. Even if I tried it would be of no use. So I told him, and he flipped out yet again. This time in concern.

"WHAT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S NOT THAT BAD?! YOU JUST TOLD ME YOU GASHED YOUR HAND OPEN AND HAD TO RECEIVE TEN STITCHES AT TWO IN THE MORNING." He emphasized.

"I- I mean- Well- It's really not that bad. I'll be fine. You're being dramatic." I tried to downplay the injury.

"DRAMATIC? I swear you're gonna end up giving me a heart attack. Let me see your hand." He demanded as he requested to Facetime.

"No!" I declined the facetime invite.

"Sadé. Let. Me. See. Your. Hand." He requested again.

I let out a groan, accepting the invite. I had the camera facing the ceiling so that he couldn't see it.

"Sadé, stop acting like a spoiled brat and show me. I'm going to end up seeing it when you get back anyways." He made a valid point.

"Fine." I mumbled.

I unwrapped my hand, pointing the camera in my direction. I lifted my hand to the screen, showing him.

"Oh my God! Are you okay, sweetheart? I didn't see that part in the video." He commented.

"YOU SAW THE VIDEO?!" I shrieked; It was now my turn to yell.

"Of course. Denaun showed me. How else do you think I know that all of this even happened?" He responded with a nonchalant look on his face.

"Fucking snitch." I mumbled.

Of course, Denaun told him. He needs to stay off the internet so much. He asked me how it happened in the first place so I explained the Don Julio bottle incident to him. His blue eyes were wide in disbelief and horror.

"I can't believe your little crazy ass." He chuckled deeply with a tiny smirk as he shook his head.

"Do you know how dangerous that could've ended? For everyone?" He then flipped a switch, going from amused to cutting into me about it.

"Yes, I know. I was upset and I wanted her to feel the same embarrassment that Hailie felt from when she made her spill her drink." I tried to tell him, but he wasn't hearing it.

"No, I don't think you do. I get wanting her to feel the same and pouring the drink on her: Okay, fair. But to to break the bottle on the side of her face or over her head? No. You are so lucky right now." He said dead serious as he started into the screen.

"Marshall, please don't start." I begged him, not wanting to hear it for the second time today.

"No, I will start. You could've gotten into serious trouble. What if that spit her face open like it did your hand? Or even worse her eye? What would you have done? She could sue you if she really wanted to. For assault, for distress, make you pay her medical bills, for changing her life forever. You know that type of shit is a felony right?" He angrily asked me.

"No..." I quietly said, feeling small.

"Well, it is. In fact, it's actually battery with a weapon. That could mean jail or charges had you been arrested. You shouldn't have done that, and you better not EVER do it again. You need to learn how to control your temper, Little Miss Don Julio."

"Why are you so mad at me over it? I did what I had to do and nothing bad happened. It's over now." I scoffed at his words.

"Something bad did happen: YOUR HAND. I'm telling you for your own good. I fucking got arrested, charged and sued for some shit like that, Sadé. I pistol whipped a dude before. I would know what I'm talking about. I don't want that happening for you. Ight? Plus, I don't want to see any of my favorite girls get hurt. All actions have consequences whether you realise that or not. Okay?"

"Okay."

"I'm forreal, Sae. Thank you for defending my baby girl and making sure she was safe, but please no more objects. I don't like seeing you fight as it is. You're a good girl. You're too beautiful and classy to be with all that ratchetness. Let the ratchet hoes be ratchet hoes. You sit up there and look pretty. Ight?" He said a lot more softly compared to earlier.

"Alright. I understand. Sorry. No more objects, and I'll try to control my temper from now on." I agreed.

"Good."

"One thing though: Please start hearing Hailie out more and stop being so harsh on her." I brought up, knowing how she felt about that.

"Why are you telling me this?..." He uncomfortably wondered.

"Trust me on this one. You both will appreciate it if you do." I told him without telling him the actual reason.

I wouldn't dare tell him something she told me in confidence. That's not my place nor my business. However, I was going to try to help ease the strain on their relationship.

"Okay. I'll take that into consideration." He accepted, taking the hint that I was giving him.

"Good."

"I've gotta get going. I need to get back to work."

"Alright, I love you." I said shyly.

"I love you, too. Now you girls have on your trip, but don't you girls be trippin'. I have enough to deal with." He joked with a wink before hanging up.

I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding in as I went back in the house. I handed Hailie her phone back.

"How'd it go? What happened?" She wanted to know.

"Things are good. Everything's fine now. And I didn't say anything, but he should start easing up on you and his strict ways." I shot her a wink, causing her to smile.

"Thank you." She mouthed happily.

We then proceeded to do our yearly secret santa now that I was back in the group. Everyone got gifts that they really enjoyed, and that fit them to a T. Nella got Alabama Givenchy boots.

Latto got Megan a Takashi Murakami necklace.

Jordyn got Corinna a Chanel bag.

Hailie got me a Louis Vuitton ring and bracelet set.

I got Jordyn a pair of Christian Louboutin red bottom heels and a heart choker necklace.

Alabama got Latto a pink & gold Rolex watch.

Corinna got Hailie a Gucci bag and tickets for them to see the Taylor Swift Eras tour.

And Megan got Nella a pink Rolex watch too.

The rest of the night we spent talking, watching Christmas movies, drinking hot chocolate, and exchanging our secret santa's. It was our last night in Aspen since we all leave tomorrow to go back to our respective everyday work lives. So we had a girls night, staying up the entire time.
