Third Pov
Beach house
Steven and the Gems are discussing the previous events from last night while in the beach house
Steven: "I'm grounded?"
Pearl: folds her arms "Yes, you're grounded!"
Garnet: "You and Dragonstone disobeyed an order, now he's been kidnapped and taken who knows where."
Amethyst: "And now we're gonna bury you 'til you've learned your lesson." holds up a shovel
Steven: panics 0Aah! That's not how grounding works!" The door of the house suddenly opens. The Crystal Gems turn to look and see Greg standing at the doorway, panting heavily. "Dad?"
Greg: breathes heavily "Uh, you guys better come check this out."
Outside on the Beach
Mayor Dewey: "W-w-wha?" The citizens of Beach City are gathered behind Mayor Dewey and murmuring worriedly.
Beach City Citizens: murmurs "Wait. What the... Where did it go?"
Ronaldo: "Whoa!" Ronaldo takes a picture with his phone as the camera zooms out, revealing that the entire ocean is gone, leaving various boats and ships stranding on the now-deserted ocean floor.
Steven: "The ocean!"
Mayor Dewey: yells into a megaphone "Hey, it's those magical ladies!" yells at Garnet "What's going on here?!"
Garnet: "The ocean is gone, obviously."
Mayor Dewey: "That's right. Now it's just a desert. No one wants to take a vacation to...
Desert City!" crying "Aww, we're gonna lose all our summer business!"
Lars: "And all the beach babes!" crying "Awwww!"
Mr. Fryman: "Who's gonna buy my fries?"
Kofi: "And my pizza?"
Mr. Smiley: "Who's gonna have fun at Funland?"
Mayor Dewey: "As mayor, I DEMAND you explain this immediate-!" Garnet slaps the megaphone out of the Mayor's hand.
Garnet: "It was Lapis Lazuli."
Steven: "Lapis Lazuli?"
Pearl: "She's the Gem Dragonstone released from the mirror. And took him into the ocean..." projects a hologram of Lapis with her gem
Beach City Citizens: murmurs "That's incredible. How did you do that?"
Steven: "But she's a Gem, just like us."
Pearl: "There's a lot you don't know about Gems, Steven."
Beach House
Steven is packing his Cheeseburger Backpack as the Gems are discussing in the kitchen.
Pearl: "How could I have known the Gem contained in that mirror would be so powerful?" Steven finishes his packing and walks towards the door, passing by Greg and Connie in the house.
Connie: "Where are you going, Steven?"
Steven: "I'm leaving to fix what I did to our home. Dragonstone was the one who set Lapis free from the mirror and now he's gone. I'm gonna bring the ocean back with Dragonstone or get really thirsty trying."
Greg: "Wait up, kiddo." places his hand on Steven's shoulder "I'm coming with you."
Connie: "I want to help, too." places her hand on Steven's other shoulder "Also, I feel weird being in your house if you're not here." Lion then appears from behind, placing his paw on Steven's head, and growls in agreement, which surprises Greg.
Pearl: clears throat "Clearly, we're coming too."
Garnet: "You're ungrounded, by the way."
Amethyst: jumps on the kitchen counter "WHOO-HOO! Rescue Mission!"
Beach House
The group then heads off into the deserted ocean, with the Gems riding in Greg's Van, and Steven and Connie riding on Lion's back, while an unshaven and distressed Mayor Dewey cries and sprays water on the sand with a hose.
Greg's Van
Greg: "How about some tunes? This was one of Rose's favorites. Greg inserts a CD into the music player and loud rock music begins to play." Amethyst chuckles while Pearl chuckles uncomfortably.
Greg: "So what do you think, Garnet?" Garnet glares uncomfortably, before kicking the van door open and jumping out of the van, rolling on the ground.
Time Skip—Night Time
Dragonstone Pov
I looked at lapis in front of me as she used the oceans water to create a tall spire that reach extremely high in the sky, I was shackled with water chains which were surprisingly strong and could feel my hold on my powers faltering from the situation
Dragonstone: "Lapis. You don't understand, the gems aren't what you think." I looked at her as she turned
Lapis: "Dragonstone, you don't know what I do, I can tell you've been made to think your "friends" are good. But I've been through enough to know that when you become a threat, you get hurt." She looks away "I'm taking you with me to homeworld, they don't need to know you're a crystal gem."
Dragonstone: "Lapis, you're not listening-."
Lapis: "Quiet. This is for your own good." The water chains shot up from below Dragonstone holding his kneck and covered his mouth "You are the only one who really wanted me to be free, you're not like them, you actually cared about me...so let me help you."
Dragonstone: 'I can't talk...I need to keep myself under control, if I transformed now I'd hurt her...' I pondered on what to do before hearing lapis scream
Lapis: she sensed the gems here as she screams "YOU SHOULDNT BE HERE!" She looked as if she were talking to them through the water somehow "Go away! Before I make you. You're one of them, the Crystal gems, all they do is use others because they think their justified. Just leave me alone." She stopped manipulating the water as she looked at Dragonstone "Your friends are here. But they won't take either of us, I won't allow it." Dragonstone forced his mouth open and but down of the water over his mouth making it lose its form
Dragonstone: "Lapis, you aren't listening..." the water covered my mouth again as she turned and manipulated the water to form water clones of the gems. But while she was focused I noticed her gem, it's cracked...
Lapis: she was commanding the water clones to fight as she spoke "I told you to leave me alone!" She spoke through the clones
Dragonstone: 'Her gems cracked...like Amethysts...Steven! Steven can fix it!' I looked down at my chains before allowing some of my energy out 'Just a little...' the release caused a powerful pulse of red energy expelling the water around me as I ran toward lapis "Lapis!"
Lapis: she turned around and gasped "Dragonstone..." he came close to her as she flinched as if he was going to attack her, but upon opening her eyes again...he held out his hand to her
Dragonstone: "I'm not gonna hurt you. I'd never hurt someone who's only trying to be free." I took her hand pull her into a hug
Lapis: she gasped slightly but clenched her fist chaining his wrists again "You think grabbing me is going to make me change my mind?" Her eyes narrow "what are you trying here? Are you still trying to save those worthless crystal gems?"
Dragonstone: "No, I'm trying to save you." I looked up at her "you may not believe me, but I want to help you, you're a prisoner to yourself if you continue this, Steven can help you."
Lapis: her eyes tear up "How's he supposed to help me?! He's just like the crystal gems, he said it himself." The water chains fall off of Dragonstone as he stepped forward "How is he gonna help me? Tell me." She said frustrated
Dragonstone: "Your gems cracked." I reached around and touched her gem while standing close to her "Steven can heal it. You just need to let him up, then you can go home."
Lapis: she sniffles and looks up at him "You promise?" Dragonstone smiles softly the red markings fading away on his body
Dragonstone: "I promise you." I held her hand before she manipulated the water and Steven suddenly popped up on the very top of the spire inside a bubble
Steven: the bubble allows his head to pop out as he gasps "Lapis! Dragonstone!"
Lapis: "Why did you come here, Steven?" Dragonstone held her hand tighter
Steven: "No, why did you come here! This thing, the ocean, taking Dragonstone, it's all crazy! Can't we just work this out as gems? We're friends! Tell her, Dragonstone." Looks to him
Dragonstone: "no, Steven. Not this time. It's time you know something, the crystal gems, don't care about other gems. We're the protectors of earth. Lapis is not the same. And I can't say I am either, I protect the earth because there are those I care about on it."
Steven: "What? We don't help other gems?" Dragonstone sighs while Lapis turns around and looks out at the stars before she walks off and drops Steven
Dragonstone: I walked over and knelt to Steven "Lapis wants to go home. I did to at one point. The gems are aware of my feelings and reasons, but I will never just leave." I put my hand on his back "Her gems cracked, she needs your help."
Steven: "My help?" He gasps "Like with Amethyst?" Dragonstone gave him a nod
Dragonstone: "She just wants to be free, so please, help her. Then we can all go back to the temple, okay?" I smile at him before we walked up to lapis while she was sitting on her knees
Steven: "Lapis...I'm gonna use my healing powers on your gem, okay?" Lapis looked over her shoulder with surprise
Lapis: "Wait, so you can help me? With 'healing powers'? Steven smiled before he licked his hand and slapped it on her gem as she shuddered. Steven stepped back while Dragonstone watched, her gem lit up and sprouted wings made from water and the crack in her gem healed almost instantly
Dragonstone: "You did it." I smiled as Lapis turned around, smiling. Her eyes were also normal now and not the reflective voids they were before
Lapis: "Thank you, Steven!"
Steven: with his eyes sparkling "No prob, bub."
Lapis: confused "it's Lapis." They stared at each other awkwardly before she turned to Dragonstone and held out her hand while smiling "You ready to go?"
Dragonstone: I sighed before shaking my head "I'm sorry, I can't. I've still got a job to do here." I took her hand and pulled her into a hug again "This is just to say, goodbye. I hope I see you again, Beach summer fun buddy." I chuckled slightly after using Stevens words as I pulled away
Lapis: she seemed slightly rejected to before she smiled again "Okay. I hope to see you again soon, Super hunk." She giggled with her hand over her mouth and a blue blush on her cheeks "When you're done with that work, do you think we'll see each other again?"
Dragonstone: I cross my arms "I'll find you."
Lapis: "Promise?" She said with a concerned and hopeful look
Dragonstone: "Promise." I nod reassuringly at her
Lapis: "Okay, goodbye." She took off and flew into space before the ocean spire began to shake and become unstable
Steven: he yelped in fear while on his hands and knees "It's falling!" A crimson red light blinded him as he looked at Dragonstone, his gem gave off a red energy which formed into wings on his back "Whoa!" His eyes sparkling
Dragonstone: "What? She inspired me." I smile softly before grabbing Steven under my arm as the spire completely came down and I flew down and dropped him by the gems and landed myself as the wings disappeared
Amethyst: "Hey! Love the new look Dragonstone!" She rand up to him but suddenly Pearl and Garnet rushed him and hugged him
Pearl: "Thank goodness you're okay!" She was crying hysterically
Garnet: "Don't ever get kidnapped again."
Dragonstone: "Let's focus on not letting the humans drown." I say before the water came crashing down on us but Steven covered us with his bubble in time as well as Greg's van. The bubble rolled us to shore
Amethyst: chuckles as Steven lets his bubble down and she punches him gently "That's how you do it!" Greg's van collapsed and they laughed
Pearl: chuckles nervously "What's that thing you always say about the pork chops and the hotdogs." The all got off the van as Dragonstone pat Steven's head
Dragonstone: "I told you it takes time didn't I?" I smile softly before the people of beach city came running and cheered Steven on and Dragonstone stood by garnet
Garnet: "So, you let lapis make it off planet?" Dragonstone nods
Dragonstone: "I couldn't allow a sentient gem be kept prisoner for simply being from homeworld. Honestly, I wish you guys told me about her being stuck in the mirror, this could have gone better." sighs heavily
Garnet: "Well, all that's left now is to wait and see." She suddenly punched Dragonstone sending him flying into the water "And that's payback."
Dragonstone: I sat up and spat water out of my mouth while in the shallow water "I deserved that." I looked into the sky 'I hope you make it to freedom, Lapis." I smile slightly, looking at the star in the sky
