There's a sinking feeling in my chest
I don't know if I can do this again
I watch as people rise and fall
Sometimes the fall is so far down
They even hit rock bottom
yet, even so, some are lucky enough
They climb back up as they get their way
right back to the top
yet I do not ignore
the ones that forgot themselves
left alone to rot
'that should be you'
Said the voices
'You should die too'
Another body drops dead
'leave some more room'
said the voices in my head
'she'll be there soon'
Not long after countless fighting
Finally, I hit rock bottom too
As my body hits the solid rock
My face contorts with pain
I feel my consciousness start slipping
yet somehow I'm still here breathing
I place a hand on my chest
there it is, my heart still beating
'You're supposed to be dead'
the voices in my head start reeling
I feel them losing their control
now this is a wonderful feeling
I close my eyes as I sink in
as darkness envelopes my vision
I feel a calmness wash over my body
the voices in my head grow quite
I can no longer hear their taunting
'is this it?'
I hear myself think
'Yes' says death
His breathing down my neck
I can almost feel his fangs
No longer can I open my eyes
'This is the end' He says
Right before taking my soul
thus the slowing of my heart rate begins
My breathing slowly stops
so do my thoughts
So now all I've got left to do
Is rot.
