Akshit's Pov

Finally, after our ride filled with Tiara's questions and interrogations, we reached home. Upon reaching, she immediately tried to open the seatbelt, but alas, she struggled. So, I quipped, "Huh. Let me!" With a slight smirk, I turned to help her, but at that moment, she managed to open it herself. As she unbuckled, she retorted, "Always so judgemental" and swiftly exited the car. Hearing her reply, I felt a bit irritated, so I sat in my car for a while to calm down.

From the car, I watched Tiara make her way inside the entrance. Suddenly, out of the blue, Shruti appeared and questioned Tiara, "How was the dinner?" with full excitement. Tiara, perhaps a bit tired and annoyed, replied, "Not now yaar, Shri, at least let me go to my room and freshen up." Hearing this, Shruti, with a sad face, said, "I was just asking casually." Tiara quickly apologized, saying, "Sorry yaar Shri, just tired and honestly frustrated too," and they finally headed inside from the entrance. Releasing a sigh, I parked my car and went inside.

Seeing me, Shruti asked, "Bhai, you're here now?" Without saying anything, I looked at Tiara, who also glanced at me and said, "He picked me up." Tiara added, "Okay, let me go and freshen up," and headed upstairs. Shruti then started her questioning, "You picked her up? How did you know where she was? And Why?" I replied, "Why do you want to know?" Shruti persisted, "Because that was my best friend's date-night." I teased, "I knew your taste in men was bad, but that much bad? and for your best friend too? I didn't knew that." Shruti responded with a mock-serious tone, "BHAI!!" and I went to my room to freshen up.

After freshening up, I was in urgent need of coffee, so I walked out of my room to go to the kitchen. Coincidentally, Tiara also emerged from her room. She didn't directly look at me, but perhaps she noticed me through the corner of her eyes, and she hurriedly went downstairs.

Confused, I made my way to the kitchen for coffee, and at that moment, she came for a water bottle. She commented, "Do you just text people while seating in a restaurant or do you eat too?" I chuckled and replied, "When does my buisness concern you?" Tiara teasingly responded, "Nope, I just wanted to know what you do other than texting people in a restaurant," and with that, she went outside.

After preparing my coffee, I made my way out of the kitchen, the aroma of the freshly brewed coffee still lingering in the air. As I stepped into the hallway, I overhear Shruti's inquiry directed at Tiara. I was just a few steps behind her. Shruti didn't saw me coming.

"Oye, bhai picked you up?" She asked, to which Tiara responded, "Yeah, as aunty said so," sent a shiver down my spine. I realized Tiara would find out the truth now. I cursed myself for not coming up with a better excuse.

Suddenly, Shruti chimed in, "Aunty? But maa never said that. I was at home the whole time, and bhai left after you left." Tiara's shocked "What?" made me realize I needed to intervene. Stepping into the conversation, I quickly said, "Maa called me and asked me to pick her up."

Shruti's disbelief was evident as she questioned, "Maa called you? But her phone was with me. Maa handed me her phone to figure out why it was lagging and it took me a long time to fix it. So, when did Maa contact you?"

I had to think fast. "You didn't have her phone the whole time, right? Maa called me when she was free," I replied, trying to end the conversation.

Without waiting for further questions, I hurried upstairs. But Shruti's voice trailed after me, "Ugh, but when was maa free? She was busy, I don't know." I couldn't help but feel annoyed that she had to bring this up in front of Tiara. I thought to myself, 'This sister of mine will land me in trouble one day. And why does she always have so many questions?'

With these thoughts swirling in my head, I reached my room, sipped my coffee, and felt a bit calmer. I glanced at my phone and saw the texts with Tiara still open. Realizing I forgot to save her number, I decided to do it. But as I typed her name, 'Tiara,' but then I tried 'Miss Tantrums,' but that felt off.

I set my phone down and tried to focus on my work, but her name kept buzzing in my mind. Unable to shake off the distraction, I eventually gave in and picked up my phone again. I decided to rename her in my contacts. After contemplating for a moment, I settled on 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓. Yes, that felt right. Finally content with the name, I returned to my work, focusing on the picture clues I had.

Tiara's Pov

As I listened to Shruti's conversation, a wave of realization hit me like a ton of bricks. Aunty didn't mention anything about Akshit picking me up, yet he took it upon himself to intervene and ruin my date. The shock must have been written all over my face because Shruti snapped me out of my thoughts, asking what was wrong with me.

"Huh? Oh, nothing, nothing," I stammered, trying to shake off the revelation. He is just trying to get on my nerves. His favourite hobby. Asshole.

Shruti asks about the date, quickly redirected the conversation to how my dinner went. I suggested we go to my room so I could spill all the details. With excitement, she agreed, and we made our way to my room.

Once inside, I recounted the entire date to Shruti, leaving out the part about Akshit's text. Normally, I share everything with her, but for some reason, I felt uneasy about sharing that particular detail. I was confused about how it would sound.

After pouring every detail out, I asked Shruti if Aunty's phone was with her the whole time. She confirmed it was, explaining she took some time to update the apps too. I got so lost in my thoughts that I forgot Shruti was there.

"Where do you keep getting lost?" she teased, bringing me back to reality and I apologized for zoning out. She joked, "Shut up," before diving into questions about my date.

"Hey, now what's the phase? I mean like, Are you both dating now?" she asked eagerly. I quickly denied it, but Shruti's protective instincts kicked in immediately.

"Why? Did he do something? Did he say something to you?" she fired off questions, ready to defend me at a moment's notice. I tried to calm her down, assuring her that nothing had happened.

But Shruti wasn't convinced. "Don't underestimate me," she declared confidently. I chuckled, knowing she meant business when it came to protecting her best friend.

"Yeah, I know you'd seriously punch him if needed, if you can ofcourse" I replied with a laugh. Shruti nodded in agreement after a fake glaring session.

Shruti's curiosity got the better of her. "Okay, now tell me what happened. Why don't you want to date?" she inquired, her tone filled with genuine concern.

"I don't want to, yaar. I actually don't know," I confessed, feeling unsure about my own feelings.

"But you decided you'd date, right? What happened?" Shruti persisted, trying to understand my sudden change of heart.

"It just doesn't feel right. I'm so confused. Also i said to him that we will talk later." I admitted, hoping Shruti would drop the subject.

"You said you'd talk later. You still have a chance if you want to," Shruti reminded me, ever the supportive friend.

"Okay, let's leave the topic now. I'll decide later what to do," I replied, wanting to steer the conversation away from my uncertainties.

Changing the subject, I asked Shruti about her evening with Abhi. She shared that they enjoyed the evening mostly but she came home early out of boredom, later.

"He let you come so soon?" I asked. But she quickly shut down my teasing, reminding me not to push it.

"Okay, okayyy. I'm really sorry, okay?" I apologized, not wanting to upset her.

"No worries at all. I'm going to make sandwiches now. Will you eat?" She asked. "But isn't it too late?" I questioned, wondering if it was the right time for a snack.

"Not for snacks or trash eating." Shruti reassured me, her enthusiasm for food shining through.

"Okay, okay, you go and eat. I'm not coming," I said sarcastically, knowing Shruti wouldn't take no for an answer.

"No problem at all. I'm more than happy about the fact that I don't have to share my food." she said smiling, heading off to the kitchen.

As Shruti busied herself with sandwiches, I picked up a book and settled in for some reading. The gentle rhythm of the words soon took me into a peaceful slumber and finally after the day i drifted to my peace.

The next morning, I woke up groggily, realizing I had slept late due to getting lost in my book the previous night. Panic flooded me as I glanced at the clock-I was late for the office. "Oh no, not today," I muttered, rushing through my morning routine.

After a quick freshening up and a hurried breakfast, I scrambled to get ready, barely managing to gather my things before rushing out the door. My mind was racing with thoughts of the impending chaos at work as I hurried down the stairs.

In my swiftness, I failed to notice a step, and suddenly, I felt myself tipping forward, bracing myself for the impact of the fall. But before I could hit the ground, I felt strong arms wrapping around me, preventing me from crashing down.

Startled that i didn't fall, I looked up to see Akshit, of all people, holding me upright. Looking into my eyes he snapped, "Can't you even walk properly?" Hearing this I replied back, "Let me go now". But his grip remained firm as he calmly replied, "If I let go now, you'll fall. Should I leave you then, Miss Sharma?"

Annoyed by his interference, I stand straight and shook off his hand and hastily make my way outside, waiting for my cab. However, as I stood there, a strange sensation washed over me, a fluttering feeling in my stomach that left me feeling unsettled. "What's wrong with me?" I wondered, trying to shake off the discomfort.

Finally, the cab arrived, and I hurriedly climbed in, eager to put the encounter behind me and focus on the hectic day ahead at the office.

I rushed to the office, swiping my ID card at the entrance before scurrying inside and making a beeline for the elevator. As I stepped into the lift, my heart sank at the sight of Nitin, the last person I wanted to encounter, especially on the day I got late. He always had a way of getting under my skin with his annoying remarks.

In the elevator, Nitin, with his annoying grin, remarked, "Today madam is late, huh?"

I brushed off his comment, not wanting to engage with him. But as the elevator filled with people from different floors, I hoped to avoid any further interaction.

When it was just Nitin and me left in the lift, and his floor came, he didn't move. I prepared to exit on my next floor, suddenly he grabbed my hand, preventing me from leaving.

Frustrated, I snapped, "What the hell, Nitin? Let me go."

He smirked, asking, "You didn't reply to my question."

With a rush of anger, I demanded again, "Just let me go, Nitin!"

As I tried to step out, his body brushed the same spot near my stomach where Akshit had his hands earlier. It made my skin crawl. "Let me go, Nitin," I hissed through gritted teeth.

He leaned in, taunting, "What if I don't? What will you do?"

My patience snapped. "I'll slap you, I swear to God," I warned, feeling my temper rise.

Ignoring my threat, Nitin moved closer, and at that moment the lift doors opened, and I pushed past him, seething with anger.

After a while Nitin followed. I can say by his face, he didn't expect me to wait there. In a moment of pure frustration, I slapped him hard across the face. "Next time you dare to come near me, I will spit on your face infront of the whole office," I spat, before storming away, leaving him stunned in the corridor, I marched away, my heart still racing with anger and outraged at his unacceptable behavior.

Akshit's Pov

After wrapping up our busy day at the office, Aarav and I were ready to head home when he suggested, "Let's go with my bike today."

I hesitated, considering, "But then who will take the car?"

Aarav chuckled, "Come on, you can hop on the bike with me. No need for the car. We can pick it up later."

Playfully, I teased him about the idea, "Girlfriend hu main tera?(Am I your girlfriend?)" but before he could answer and we could decide, my phone rang. It was Karan Ahuja calling.

I answered, and without any remark, he jumped straight into the matter, saying, "The situation is getting out of hand."

I couldn't help but tease him back, "Hello to you too Karan."

Karan retorted, "I don't have time for this things now. Just tell me what's going on."

Seeing Aarav's amused expression, I put the call on speaker. Karan continued, stressing the urgency of the situation.

I assured him, "I have it under control. I have enough evidences which will be disclosed on time. Just have faith in me and that will be enough."

Adding a touch of humor, I reminded him, "And next time, say hi and hello before jumping into business. After all we are friends if you don't remember," and ended the call on his face. We shared a laugh afterward. Karan and I were used to such banter, so his directness wasn't surprising.

Upon arriving home, I spotted Tiara and Shruti enjoying themselves in the hall. I decided to head straight upstairs to my room, feeling the need to freshen up and have some time to myself. After a quick refresh, I stepped outside for some time to scroll through my phone, making my way to the balcony. There, I found Tiara sitting with a book.

As I approached, she hastily got up and left, shooting me one of her trademark irritated looks. Sighing, I took her place on the couch, grateful for the quiet moment. While scrolling through some reels on my phone, I noticed a phone lying on the nearby stool. As I looked closer, I realized the phone on the stool was none other than Tiara's. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of girl she was-forgetting her phone like that?

Ignoring it at first, I tried to focus on my own phone, but my curiosity kept pulling me back to hers.

Then it hit me-did she even save my number? With a mischievous smirk, I picked up her phone and tried to unlock it, but it was tough. What was I thinking? So, I set it aside. An idea struck me-I could call her phone from mine and check. Dialing her number, I noticed my caller ID showing up as an unknown number on her phone. She hadn't saved my number? Seriously?

Suddenly, Tiara appeared out of nowhere, asking about her phone. I quickly got up and handed it over to her, taking her hand in mine. "Save my number in your phone" I said, before swiftly retreating to my room, leaving her there.
