╰┈➤ Circus. Somewhere where magic happens. Where millions of people want to visit and watch people perform and animals. Where the lights shine like nowhere else. Where you could hear childrens laugh and see them having fun. Where people think only bright and happy memories are made. Well they are wrong.
In this circus, everything happens. Good and bad. People hate each other. Animals are hardly used, the most famous is the snake not an elephant. Clowns aren't that happy as they appear to be. Maybe this circus is made to be like this. Full of crazy people.
Tonight they were performing in Gotham. A dark city where evil things happen and is filled with evil people. Clowns were getting ready at their side and dancers at the other. They all looked incredible with make up on and those uniformes.
At the dancers side, also known as Graysons, you could see a certain brunette putting on make up. Her uniform fitting her just right. She had a rainbow colored complet on and some godlen stripes at the end of her shorts. Her hair was curled a little bit and put in a ponytail.
The girl next to her was her best friend. They met when Morana enrolled in the circus. From the first day till now they hanged out every day. They both made pranks around the circus and didn't care about anyone else. Their friendship is the definition of "till death do us apart". Which is true.
"Mor, hurry up! You're performing in 5 minutes!" The girl next to the brunette leaned on the make up table. Worried that her friend will be late and everything will be ruined.
"Don't worry, Selena! I'm already done." The girl popped her lips and smiled at herself. This was her second year since she started to perform. Here at Haly's circus, children at the age of 13 start to practice and at the age of 15 start to perform.
"You'll rock it, babe!" Selena jokingly slapped Morana's ass, making the brunette chuckle and sand a kiss towards her best friend. The blonde watched as she walked away, her best friend and her secret crush. No one knows about it and Selena hopes it will stay like that.
Because she knows that Morana won't be able to love her.
Getting on the stage, Morana saw that there was a big audience. She took a deep breath and started doing her part. There was a moment people thought she was gonna fall but she grabbed hands of the person on the other side. You could hear impressed gasps from the crowd, making Morana be proud of herself.
In the crowd were also sitting Jim Gordon and his new date, Lee. Loving the atmosphere and the show that they were watching. It was weird that this was their first date, but unique.
The Graysons are now on the floor and were about to start and dance. When a car full of clowns interrupted the show. The leader of the clowns, also known as Lloyds, went over and punched the leader of Graysons. Starting a big fight, where everyone punched everyone. Except Morana stood on the side and didn't do anything. She wasn't a real Grayson, so there was no need to fight.
Till some girl came and slapped her in the face. Morana saw black in front of her eyes and put her hands in fists. The brunette won't fight if someone doesn't touch her, but if you do touch her, run. With one swift movement the girl was on the floor with blood coming out of her mouth, while Morana smiled looking down.
"Don't ever touch me again." Someone yelled GCPD, but before that everyone was staring at what Morana did. None of them made other one bleed. They were surprised to see that Morana did it for the first time. An older woman came over to her and lead her towards the back of the tent. Where she'll be cleaning them after the fight.
The brunette never thought she will punch someome. It's because she had an abusive father and doesn't want anyone to exprience that. Though she promised to her mother when she was younger that if someone touched her, she will fight back. And she did just that.
"You circus people don't mess around do you?" The doctor questioned now trying to clean John. Morana was already done, but was still sitting there, not having any better work to do. The Lloyd girl started to talk back to John, while the doctor was still here.
Morana rolled her eyes as the two continued to argue. It's always the same with them, they fight and make up. It's too repetitive, that even a little kid already knows what will happen. The brunette looked at her hands, which were now taken care of, but you could still see red on her knuckles at how she punched some girl.
"You know damn well it must be Lila's foult." Morana tensed hearing the name and she looked up to look at Mary. Taking deep breath she continued to listen to the conversation, but her mind wondered somewhere else.
"I got to go, lovely meeting you." The older woman smiled seeing as the girl jogging away. She was on her way towards her best friends trailer, it was a bit far but she will survive. Mary looked at the girl suspiciously, but just shrugged continuing to mess with John.
Morana always found hard to hide any type of secret. People could see on her face when somethings wrong. She usually doesn't hold eye contact, but when she lies Morana can't take her eyes off of the person she's talking to. Mary knew that, being her friend back when family Quinzel came in the circus. It was until Morana was adopted by Grayson's, than Mary ended in bad terms with the young girl.
It was about few minutes later and Morana was still walking towards her friends trailer, being stopped by a little child to show him directions. The brunette loves to help people whenever they need it or if she can. Her mother raised her like that, ironic isn't it? She sighed thinking of the woman who carried her for nine months.
That was the story for another time.
To get to her best friends trailer she needs to go past her other best friends trailer. Selena was far away and Morana hated that. Since the brunette hates to walk a lot after a performance. It's because her legs are killing her and she would rather go back to her trailer and sleep. Though she promised Selena to come and help her pick a dress since she's going on a date. The circus is opened for a lot of time.
Not paying attention she almost stepped on a big snake. Everyone who knew Morana had to know that she's terrified of them. An ear piercing scream came out of her mouth startling the people who were apperantly following this awful creature. There stood doctor from earlier, the policeman who was with her, the ringmaster and finally the person she knew.
"Jerome!" She ran over to him far away from the giant snake. He chuckled seeing her terrified, while the other three just stared at her. Their eardrums probably hurting from her scream. Morana was still in her uniform and she couldn't wait to get out of it. It was so uncomfortable she wanted to scream. "What's happening?"
"My mom hasn't come home from last night, so the police let out the snake." The ginger boy explained giving his coat to his best friend. Seeing how she was shivering, not only from the fear. The doctor nodded in agreement, while the other to just carelessly watched. The man with make up on secretly hoping she won't say anything wrong.
"Are y'all crazy?! Letting that creature out on purpose?" Morana cried out following them where they were going. Rest of the path they all stayed quiet, curious to where it's leading them.
The teenage girl was nervous the whole time. Glancing at Jerome than at the masked man from time to time. Her best friend wrapped an assuring hand around her shoulders. So it turns out like he's comforting her, when In reality he's calming her down so she stays quiet.
The moment the snake went under a white cover, Morana's heart sank. This is it, the police will find out. They are dead. The doctor and the policeman looked at each other while the other three stared in impatience. Hoping this wasn't the end of them. Hoping for it to be blamed on someone else, like it was supposed to be.
When they uncovered her body, Morana froze. Her face didn't hold any emotion, it was just there. Trying not to show anything, she was good at it. But her thoughts went somewhere else...
