The dark room with people was shown again, and from their expressions it seemed that they had seen or heard something intregueing..
"Boss....it seems that,your contract won't be signed after all, the man has actually managed to get a woman-."
"Pregnant." the referred to man spoke
He walked around the room with a thinking expression on his face, he then spoke
"Well...we already knew that this wedding wasn't going to take place, but that doesn't mean I won't be able to get my contract...."
"My brother, who was exiled from the family took upon another name, Lucille...., married according to his wish, lived according to his wish, but that doesn't mean my nephew will...."The man said
"What do you mean sir..."
"Don't worry, you'll find out soon, all I know is that I will get my contract through my nephew....one way or another..."

Amika's Pov
...
Telling Lucas about our baby was the best decision I've made in a long time....his happiness and joy made me wish I'd told him sooner....
And now he didn't have to get married to Eva..As though we didn't have a gala to go back to, I was lying on Lucas's chest while gently stroked my hair, while we talked about our future baby
Then suddenly Lucas's phone rang...he sat up, as I did as well....
"Hello...."
"Lucas where are you..?"
"Uhm....I got wine on my jacket, so I-..."
"Oh save it Lucas, I know you're with Amika., congratulations by the way...."
Must be Everly....
Lucas smiled
"Thanks...what did you want to tell me..."
"I have some important news to announce...so please hurry, it does involve you of course...."
"Ok... I'll be there soon..." he said while ending the call
"Everly, right?." I said
"Right on....how does she know you're pregnant, if I may ask...."
"She saw the suprise box I made for you...."
"Which I am going to keep..."Lucas said
"Of Course..." I said smilingly
"Come on, we have to go back, Evey said wants to announce something..."
"Alright..."
But it's like the baby just didn't want me do that, because immediately I tried to stand up....a wave of nausea came over me
A very strong wave
I covered my mouth with my hand with the fear I would throw up and closed my eyes....
"Are you alright...do you feel sick?..." Lucas asked me frantically while holding me
"Nausea...."I said
"God..are you going to be able to come back to the gala with me...."
"No.., I might just throw up on our way there..., just leave me here, I'll be fine..."
"No way I'm leaving you here, what if something happens to you and the baby, or you get really unwell and I'm not here..." Lucas said worriedly
"Lucas don't worry, Nausea is normal....and besides you need to hear what Everly has to say...it might be important for all we know.., so go, I'll be fine....in due time..." I tried to reassure him
"Alright....but don't leave this room....I'll be back immediately I know what I need to know..."
"Alright..." I chuckled
"But in the meantime.,can I get you anything that will help with the nausea, I could send room service " he asked concerningly
"Well...I could get some mint tea, or peppermint, it would really help...." I said remembering the pamphlet
"Alright... I'll see you and little us later" he said while pecking my cheek and then leaving

Lucas's Pov

When I got back to the gala, I found an angry looking Eva in the middle of the ballroom, a slightly angrier looking Everly with some paper's in her hands and our families looking
Dissapointed?
When Eva saw me, she immediately rushed towards me and started speaking as though her tongue was on fire
"Lucas baby, don't listen to a thing she says or shows you, she just doesn't want you and I to be together...infact do listen to anything you hear...." Eva said pleadingly
What's going on?....
Everly came to the middle of the ballroom and started to announce
"The agreement between the Lacrosse's and Rave Industries or rather the Neviera's stated that if Mr Lucas Neviera failed to get a girl pregnant by the 20th of July, the contract will be enacted upon for 5 years.......but in reality, there was no such agreement or contract...."
Seriously what was happening.?...
"The contract is fake because my brother did not agree to such at any point.., which means that miss Eva took advantage of
Lucas's memory loss...."
No wonder I couldn't find anything....It never happened at all
I looked to Mr Lacrosse and it shocked me that he didn't even seem in the slightest bit angry or upset or disappointed
Infact he was smiling.
"Meaning that all agreements or contracts signed between the Lacrosse's and Rave Industries are considered null due to violation of contract conduct..."
"In all respect...I'm deeply ashamed for what my daughter has done...but that doesn't mean that all the contract's are null..." Mr Lacrosse began to speak
He had a framed document in his hand
"You see, My Grandfather and Mr Jacob Neviera, the company's original founder signed an agreement, that the youngest Heir of the first born male son and the youngest female heir of the other would marry each other after a 100 years pass...."
"And that 100 years is now...."
My Father's youngest daughter was Loren... meaning
"No, I'm not letting my sister fall in the clutches of arranged marriage...." I said
I stood nearer Loren protectively...she looked betrayed and upset, and honestly I couldn't blame her...
"This can't be true... this document could also be fake...." Everly argued
"I'm afraid it isn't..."my mother said
Everybody looked at her for answers
"We have a copy of that agreement back home...."
Was everyone keeping secrets now....
"I'm sorry it has to be this way.., my nephew has already been informed about the contract...."
"Nephew..?" I asked confusedly
"My older brother's son according to the agreement..., Mr Matteo Lucille..."
"They are to get married 21 days after the contract has been revealed to them..Which would be the 10th August ,so we will discuss the arrangements soon, for now we have some more issues to sort out...."Mr Lacrosse said
And they left immediately after. The rest of the guests left earlier on leaving us in complete privacy

This wasn't fair, this was supposed to be my fate, not Loren's. I hugged her tightly
"I don't want to get married Lucas, especially not to someone I don't even know at all..." Loren cried in my arms
"Shh, we'll find a way to try and get you out of this wedding..." I reassured her
I broke our hug and walked towards my mother and father, who both looked guilty
"Mom, Dad, how could you hide something so big from us..., you could have atleast told us and maybe we would have tried to find a way to prevent the marraige..."
"Dear, as much as I didn't want this to happen at all, we all had arranged marriages, your father, me, Maddison..." My mother tried to justify
Loren looked up at mom with angry tears
"Mom, it's always me who has to be strong...you never care about my feelings or how I'm going to feel, why Mom...why do you hate me..." she said while running out
"I'll go after her..." Lena said while following her out
Luckily the kids weren't here to witness this, they were with Lena's nannies, and they had a room they were all going to spend the night in
"I think we should call it a night, we'll discuss things tommorow..." I said

One of the hotel workers brought me the teas I asked Lucas for and honestly they really helped, Lucas texted me saying that we would be spending the night here and that I could find sleepwear in the wardrobes
Once I changed, I felt so much more comfortable...I got into the blanket and tried to find something to watch
Lucas came into the room with a strained expression on his face, and that alone got all of my attention
"Hey...what happened, announcement was that stressful?..." I said
He laid his head in my lap and started to explain what had taken place in the ballroom...
I felt happy that Lucas didn't have to go through the sad fate of having to marry Eva,and stay with her for five years
But the news that Loren was supposed to get married made me furious
"What gives men in the grave the right to decide the futures of thier grandchildren..." I said angrily
Loren didn't deserve this...she had a sweet boyfriend, nearly getting her degree in business and suddenly she has to get married
"Sometimes I wish none of this ever happened, all this business nonsense..."Lucas said sleepily while I played with his hair
I let him sleepily rant while I listened, then after a while I told him to change before he slept in a whole office outfit
He came back, shirtless with sweatpants from the wardrobe and laid on my chest...he started drawing small circles on my belly and started saying sweet nothings to my belly
I chuckled
"Lucas, the baby can't hear you yet..." I said while yawning as sleep started to take over me
"Your mom is just jealous that we're finally bonding..." he said
I chuckled as he continued and sleep completely enveloped me and I feel into a deep slumber
a peaceful slumber....
