peaceful without me

I see him standing outside
waiting for her to join him.
As he waits, he looks up at the pretty, puffy clouds,
waving 'bye' to his friends,
and closing his eyes to listen to the birds chirping.
And he looks...calm,
or rather peaceful, I must say.
And I loved his calm face.
But for some reason,
when he's around me,
he's usually anxious, or stressed, or awkward.
His manner around me was rather amusing.
Until, I saw him today looking so peaceful.
For some messed up reason,
it made me feel a pit in my stomach,
like he liked being around her,
he liked waiting for her,
and that he really liked her a lot.
I was aware of that,
but it still made my heart ache,
when I stood there watching her walk towards him,
and he looked up at her and beamed with happiness,
as a wave of sadness, and loneliness washed over me.
