Kagome P.O.V
"Alright, let's hurry and paint the rose red~! Not pink, not green, got it? I'm countin' on you to paint it pretty red!" Cater-senpai said and I grabbed the bucket of red paint and a paintbrush. I walked towards the rose bush with white roses and started painting
'It feels kinda weird to paint the roses red. Why didn't they just plant actual red roses instead of white roses? It should save the trouble' I thought to myself
"Geez, guess we can't say no... We just have to get this over with, right?" Ace said as he started painting the roses
"I don't know if we can give satisfactory results, but I will do my best!" Deuce said as he pulled out his magic pen
"Somethin' like this is easy for someone like me! You do your best too, got it?!" Grim said with a smug look
'One of these days, that kind of attitude is be the end of him' I thought as I looked at Grim with a deadpan look and resumed painting. While painting, there were a couple of times when Grim set the roses on fire and I had to immediately put them out. So, now, I have a bucket of water next to me in case Grim sets the roses on fire again
While Ace and I were painting the roses red, Deuce and Grim were trying to change the color to red, but ended up changing into different colors
"Red, red... There!" Deuce casted his spell, but the roses turned blue "Ah!! It turned blue!" Deuce freaked out
"You will change colors...! Go!" Grim casted his spell, but he ended up putting the roses on fire again "AAAHHHHHH!!! I set them on fire again!" Grim screamed
"Dang it , Grim! How many times does this make already?!" I shouted as I grabbed the prepared bucket of water and dumped it on the fire
"You're a lot worse than I thought you'd be~" Cater-senpai said with a disappointed look
"How about we let Grim use the paint instead oh him using magic" I suggested and Cater-senpai laughed
"Aren't the roses fine being white? They're pretty" Ace said
'He's right about that' I thought
"This is our tradition. Roses are red for the Unbirthday Party. And we use flamingos in seven different colors for croquet with hedgehogs as the balls. But y'know, the spring garden concert of the flowers use white roses. That's an important point too" Cater-senpai explained
'Using the animals for games like that sounds like kinda like animal abuse' I thought with a sweatdrop
"Those are all strange rules!" Grim complained
"They say these rules were decided by the Queen of Hearts from the Great Seven. Riddle is particularly passionate about following the rules even compared to other strict dorm leaders. I won't deny he goes too far sometimes though..." Cater-senpai said
"That's right. I don't have time for this. I want to speak to the dorm leader, is he inside?" Ace asked
"Hm? I think there's time before he leaves... By the way, Ace the tart thief, did you bring a tart of apology?" Cater-senpai asked and I looked at him with a confused look
"Huh?"
"Ah? No, I came here first thing, so I'm empty-handed..." Ace said
"Aaaah noo. That so? Since you're going against Laws of the Queen of Hearts, Number 53: 'One must always return what they stole', I can't let you in the dorm" Cater-senpai said
"Haa? The hell is that?!" Ace asked
"I'll lose my head too if I knowingly let you in while you're not obeying the rules. I feel bad, but you need to leave before Riddle notices" Cater-senpai said with a serious face as he pulls out his magic pen
"Woah! His face got serious! Guys, help me out!" Ace said as he looked at us
"Why do I?!" Deuce asked
"Please! I can't use magic right now... Wahh, here he comes!" Ace shouted as he pulled me behind him "Stay behind us, Kagome!"
After the battle, Cater-senpai threw us out of the garden
"Now, go get a tart then try again! Bye-bye!" Cater-senpai said as he closes the gate to the garden
"What's his problem!?" Ace asked looking angry
"No matter how many times we took him down, he kept coming back... I wonder if he was using illusion magic?" Deuce wondered
'It did look like an illusion... but something tells me that's not the case' I thought
"On top of that, we get turned away at the gate without a tart? We didn't have anything to begin with. He just wanted us to paint the damn roses!" Ace said
"He's a shrewd one" Grim said
"Well, look on the bright side, at least we know what we need to bring if Ace want to go back inside the dorm" I said and they nodded in agreement, then Deuce let out a shout when he heard something
"Uh!!! Crap!!!" Deuce shouted
"Ah! What's wrong?!" I asked
"This is bad! The warning bell already rang! We're gonna be late!" Deuce shouted
"What?!" I shouted
"Ffgna! My shining school life is going to be tarnished on day one!" Grim freaked out
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get a move on already!" I said as I picked up Grim and started running
"What class are you two in? You're first years, right?" Ace asked
"I'm in class 1-A and Grim was added in the same class as me" I answered
"Wow, we're in the same class. First period is Potions" Deuce said
"Wooooooooh! Sounds like fun!" Grim said
"Oh! That's where I saw you! You were the guy who was mumbling about the punishment from the headmaster" I said as I remembered
"So, we sorta met before, huh" Ace said as we all ran to class "Well, I can't use magic, so I wonder how this'll go..."
"I'm sure you'll be fine, this is only the second day" I said
"True" Ace said
No One P.O.V - Potions classroom
As the small group barely made it to class, they immediately put their lab coats, goggles and took their seats before the teacher came in
"Hmmm, there are some rare hair colors in the bunch. Not bad. Make sure to take proper care of it daily. My name is Divus Crewel. You may feel free to call me Master Crewel. Take your seats. Class will begin. First for the basics. I will beat the names and appearances of 100 types of medicine and poison into your little brains. We'll cover fungi later. Now memorize these, so you don't go around getting poisoned by random things you eat off the ground. Dogs will eat whatever is lying around. Your training will be strict and I better not see any red marks on your tests" Divus warned
"I see... By the way, what's a fungi?" Deuce asked
"Fungi is another word for mushroom" Kagome answered and Deuce thanked her
"Blegh. I'm no good at memorization" Ace said
"All that matters for grass is whether or not it tastes good" Grim said
"I wouldn't try to do that if I were you, Grim. You never know which one minor or deadly if you go eating random plants. That's why we need to learn about them so that way we'll know what to do if we ate the wrong plant" Kagome said
"As Miss. Higarashi, always be careful what you eat when out in the woods because you'll never know when you this knowledge would come in handy" Divus said
As the class went on, the bell rang and students went to their next class
"Miss. Higarashi, a moment please" Divus called to Kagome as she walked towards the teacher
"Can I help you, sir?" Kagome asked and Divus pulled a necklace from his coat's pocket
"I finished making the jewel into a necklace. That way you'll have it with you at all time" Divus said as he handed Kagome the sacred jewel necklace
"Thank you, Mr. Crewel" Kagome thanked him as she puts the necklace around her neck and left for her next class
History Class
"I'm Trein and I'm in charge of your history lessons. This is my familiar, Lucius. You will learn about the history of magic that has brought prosperity to the world" Trein said
"Meow" Lucius meowed
"Participation in class will affect your grade, not just reports. I will not forgive sleeping in class. Open your textbooks to page 15" The students opened their textbooks and turned to the page "We will start with the discovery of magic crystals i the Dwarf's Mines..." Trein said as he started reading
"Meow" Lucius meowed again
"Magical energy spread throughout the world during the century after this discovery, we call it the Beginning of Magic" Trein said
"Meow" Lucius meowed again and snorted
Ace let out a yawn
"Wooaaah. At Dwarf's Mine... Woaaahh... Magical energy..." Deuce was writing down the info
"Hmmmm... I want a class to use magic like BANG!" Grim said, but Kagome covered his mouth as she continues to write the information about the magical world she's in
Sports Field
After Kagome finished changing in the teacher's office, she went out on the field looking for her friends and the cat. She even ignored the stares that the other guys are giving her as she walked on the field. After a bit, Kagome found her friends
"Hey, guys!" She called out to them and both Deuce and Ace's face turned red when they saw her in her PE clothes
"Woah..." They were speechless, then they heard the sound of the whistle blowing
"I'm Vargas. I'm in charge of athletics for you, bean sprouts. Becoming a great wizard starts with your muscles! Looks at all the muscles I've built eating raw eggs everyday!" Vargas said as he started flexing his muscles "You, baby wizards have no stamina. Start with 20 laps around the track then 100 pushups!"
"Eeeh... I don't dislike exercise, but I can't deal with this type of teacher" Ace said
"I've got confidence in my stamina" Deuce said looking confident
"What's so fun about running in circles?! I'm not a freaking hamster!" Grim complained
"Come on, you guys. Let's get started or we'll get in trouble if Coach Vargas sees us doing nothing" Kagome said as she starting jogging
Break Time
After attending 3 classes, the students are finally taking their break. While walking down the hallway, Deuce was looking through his class schedule
"Our next class is..."
"For a school of magic, it's really not that different from regular old school. It's a lot more subdued that I expected... Not having magic hasn't been a problem at all" Ace said
"I told you. But you're right about the school. It kinda reminds me of my school back in my world" Kagome said
"Really? How about you, Grim?" Ace asked, but received no reply "Hm?"
"Why do I have a bad feeling?" Kagome asked
"Look out the window! The furball is making a beeline through the courtyard!" Deuce said as we looked out the window and saw Grim running
"Grim! Get back here now!" Kagome shouted
"Making a break for it already, he never learns..." Deuce said as he shook his head with disappointment
Pfft! Your first day as supervisor and you already have to report losing track of him" Ace laughed and Kagome smacked his head with her giant paper fan
"How about you shut up!" Kagome shouted
"So, do you want help catching Grim?" Ace asked as rubs the spot where he was hit
"No thank you. Cause I already have a feeling you're gonna ask for something in return if I asked for help" Kagome said as she runs out of the hallway to catch up to Grim
"H-Hey! I was just joking! Wait for us!" Ace shouted as he and Deuce both followed Kagome as they went after the run away cat
