"bitchh you ate these braids upp!" naomi yelled happily as she touches her cornrows while holding the mirror.

"you dont gotta pay me is cool" sa'niyah shrugged, since naomi was her friend she was happy to do her hair for free.
"fuck no I gotta atleast giv u sumthing" naomi said turning around facing sa'niyah.

"you own a salon?" naomi asked.

"girl if you do other people's hair like this u gon be making bank" naomi said rubbing her fingers together.
"I'll think about it, right now I'm tryna look for job so I can have enough money for me and mari" sa'niyah explained while packing up her hair products away.
"I'm working at a supermarket near brooklyn, I can get you a job if you interested"
"you'd do that?" sa'niyah said happily.
"ofcourse, I'm down to help a sis out with whateva, girl we gon head down an library and print you your resume before we pick up the kids" Naomi pulled her up from the coach as they were ready to go out.

"that'll be $12.32 in total" sa'niyah said after scanning the lady's groceries and placing them in an brown bag.
the lady payed with card and grabs her bag smiling at sa'niyah before leaving.
it was a few minutes till sa'niyah clocked off her shift, as she started from 9, she couldn't wait to see her daughter and go home.

after the time hitting 4 she went over to the back to clock off before taking off her apron and hat.
"you finish now?"
"yeah"
"here's your paycheck from last week, extra bonus money for staying back, keep up the work" her manager said smiling.
"thanks" sa'niyah said showing a smile on her face, she thought her manager was cute, he was a white boy with glasses and looked innocent, sa'niyah assumed from the way he sounds and dresses. she grabs her bag, puts her paycheck inside and walks towards the bus stop that was a few minutes away from the supermarket.
as she walks she noticed a group of girls watching her from a distance, as she looks back she notice a few of them and especially tanisha.
she mugged her face as she thought notice them pointing at her, she ignored their presence and continued making her way to the bus stop.

"food ready yet?" esmari groaned feeling her stomach. while she sits on the floor and watches old barbie movies.
"the rice is almost done baby" sa'niyah said after boiling the rice in the pot, she had enough food to make proper dinner for her and her daughter as she was making roasted chicken and rice.
"mama someone at the door" esmari pointed at the door and sa'niyah was alert, her heart was beating faster as she thought javon was on the door..she peeped through the door seeing ace infront of the apartment door and she sighed.
"what are you doing here?" sa'niyah said rolling her eyes but truly she glad ace was here, she haven't seen him in a while.
"you not happy to see me?" he smirked and sa'niyah hid her smile letting him inside.
"I never said that I was jus asking a question" sa'niyah closed the apartment door behind her and crossed her arms looking up at ace.
esmari said nothing but had a huge smile on her face, she walked up to ace and waved, she was shy around him, meaning that she liked him.
"girl" sa'niyah looked at esmari and laughed at how shy she was after ace picked her up. as sa'niyah looked at his face she noticed a few scratch marks on his neck and face.
"what happen to yo face?"
"don't worry bout it ma, watchu makin?" he asked walking towards the kitchen with esmari on his shoulder.
"sum food" she walked back to the kitchen seeing that the rice was done and turned off the pot.
"you wanna plate?" sa'niyah asked.
"nah I'm good"
"ight" sa'niyah said softly grabbing a pink bowl for esmari before making a plate for herself.
"food!!" esmari yelled excitedly making ace placing her down.
"go wash your hands before you eat mari" sa'niyah said stirnly, she filled up her sippy cup with water and placed her food on the coach and went back to the kitchen to clean"
esmari washed to the toilet to wash her hands and ran back to the sit on coach
"deer god tanks for the food and blesh dis food emen" esmari open her eyes after she prayed, her great grandmother taught her to pray.
"watchu doin tonight?" ace tilted his head looking at her face features, he really liked how she looked.
"not givin u sum" sa'niyah looked up at ace as he looked to the side chuckling showing his dimples before biting his bottom lip as he looked back at sa'niyah, making her bubbly in the inside.
"chill I wasn't gon do nun today"
"you running away from trouble?"

"the scratches on yo face, what happen?" sa'niyah stopped what she was doing and placed both her arms on her hips.
"tanisha found sum da belong to yhu" he referred to sa'niyahs panties, which he still have.
"I saw the bruises on her face too" sa'niyah mumbled, she thought they were both got into a heavy argument which lead into something physical.

"she kept on looking at me with her lil friends after I finished my shift"
"u got chu a job?" he asked happily, he never liked the idea of her prostituting for money even though he still supported her no matter what.

"I work tomorrow, 9 am till 4"

"by the way you can't stay for too long"
"why not?" he mugged, he only came over to sa'niyahs house because he wanted to spend time with her, and possibly get some.
"my grandma coming back home soon"

"say less ma" he kisses her in her check making sa'niyah feel bubbly in her insides before he left.
"see u soon princess" he waved at esmari and she waved back before he closed the door behind him.
"les getchu ready for bed mama" sa'niyah picked her up to the bathroom to make her a bubble bath getting esmari ready for bed.
