melanie knew that the group would make it weird, which is why she really didn't want to tell them. i mean is it so bad that her and her childhood best friend have movie nights like they always did as kids? it wasn't like he liked her like that, at least not anymore..
she sighed and turned her phone off, placing it on her nightstand. it was almost three in the morning and she had been staring at the messages in the group chat for the past couple of hours. she knew she needed to sleep, but she just couldn't.
putting on her slippers, she walked into the bathroom and knock on walkers door, in the pattern they had used since they could walk of course. almost instantly, walker opened the door for her. he could tell just by the look on her face that something was wrong, but he didn't question it and just let her into the room.
they sat on the edge of the bed, walker staring at her while she gazed off into nothing. he finally broke the silence when he asked, "are you okay? i can tell there's something on your mind." he gave her a soft, reassuring smile.
"i don't know.. it's just.. everything's felt weird lately. and it's not just because of what the group said earlier. i just feel like ever since we started filming, everything's been off?" she told him, as if she was asking a question instead of telling him.
walker didn't want to interrupt her so he just nodded, listening to every word she told him.
"and there's just been this weird nagging feeling in the back of my head and i don't know what it is or why i have it." she knew exactly what it was. her feelings for walker. melanie knew it was weird of her to be talking about this to him, but she just needed to vent to someone.
walker gave her a pat on the back and a side hug before telling her, "listen, i may not know whatever your feeling right now, but i do know that you'll figure it out. you always do."
"i will be right back!" he told her, running out the room and down the stairs. she just stared at him, confused, not knowing what he had planned.
after a few minutes, he came back up with an armful of snacks. he gave her a cheesy smile and jumped onto the bed. he handed her a yogurt pouch and grabbed one for himself, turning on the tv and putting on catching fire, melanie's favorite movie.
she didn't say anything, i mean she was speechless. this boy knew her so well that he knew to get her snacks and to put on her favorite movie to cheer her up. no guy had done that before. they always disregarded how she felt and pushed her off to the side.
the small gesture gave her butterflies, which she quickly ignored. she knew that if anything were to happen, it would ruin their friendship. and melanie did not want to risk it.
