"HES THE MINOTAUR KILLER?"
June was never one to follow rules. Of course, she did when she had to but she never did it while being happy. But what really annoyed her? new kids. it's not like she hated them or anything but she's quiet the sight for sore eyes since she's a child of the big three. The big three are Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon. She was the only daughter of Hades. So you could imagine the...weight on her shoulders.
She was walking by herself around camp when she saw her best friend - Luke Castellan - walking around with this blonde curly haired boy around camp.
She stopped in her tracks and grabbed the nearest camper by their shirt. The person she grabbed was a brunette boy who seemed scared of June... Who wouldn't be when the only daughter of hades grabs you like you did something wrong?
"Hey, who is that?" June asked, not looking at the boy she grabbed, but keeping an eye on Luke and the boy.
"Tha-that's uh..." The brunette boy cleared his throat.
"That's the new kid. He's the one that-" the boy was cut off by June.
"Wait him? He's the Minotaur killer?" June asked, smiling to herself and the young boy nodded.
"Can i...?" The young boy spoke up. June looked at him and let go. She yelled 'Sorry!' To him as he walked fast away from June and back to his friends.
June waited for a moment, thinking if she should walk up to them or not. She made her decision when she saw Clarisse La Rue, daughter of ares, push past them and push the new kid down.
June did a light jog to them, planning on giving Clarisse a mouth full but Clarisse had left before June could even chime in.
"She always has a problem." June said walking up to Luke and the boy.
"Why don't they mess with you?" The blonde asked Luke.
"They know better." Luke said, the slight cockiness in his voice making June laugh.
"Yeah and Luke's the strongest swordsman at camp." June added, nudging Luke with her elbow.
"Wait who are you?" The blonde turned to June. Waiting for a response.
"June. June LeClair." June said shrugging as if her name meant nothing. "And you are..?" June asked the blonde boy.
"Percy. Percy Jackson." The blonde finally putting his identity out. June nodded and smiled.
"Nice name." June joked halfway. Percy smiled softly and spoke.
"So, they leave him alone because 'glory?'" Percy asked June.
"That's basically it." June says. Percy looks at her for a moment then talking again.
"So if i get glory, Clarisse wouldn't mess with me either?" Percy was slowly making a realization in his head.
"Exactly." Luke said, nodding his head.
"And people think I'm a big deal?"
June laughed slightly and Luke tilted his head, letting a 'well sorta but-" slip from his mouth before the blonde spoke again.
"And my dad's got no choice but to claim me." The blonde said, looking at June then at Luke again.
"You can't force the gods to do anything." Luke shifting in his place.
"Yeah that's like talking to a brick wall." June added.
"Well, yeah, but it would make it harder for him to pretend I don't exist, right?" Percy asked, looking between June and Luke.
"Maybe." Luke said, June thought about it and it did seem like a good idea, kinda but not really.
"Well, great! Where do we start?" Percy asked. June laughed once again and shook her head.
"Have fun figuring this out." June pointed at Luke then at Percy. Walking off.
Percy looked at June walking away and smiled to himself.
"June LeClair huh?" Percy accidentally said out loud.
"Yup, that's her." Luke crossed his arms.
"Cool."

"I DONT KNOW IT JUST FELT..ODD?"
June was sitting alone in her cabin, which was cabin 13, hades cabin. Playing around with a deck of cards her step-dad gave to her when she was young and tried to make her learn magic tricks.
Suddenly someone opened the cabin door without knocking and June knew it was her other best friend Annabeth Chase. Annabeth was a daughter of Athena.
"Hey, June." Annabeth said, closing the cabin door behind her.
"Hey, Annie." June smiled at Annabeth.
"So I heard you talked to that new kid." Annabeth sat down on Junes bed. Putting her hand out as if asking for the deck of cards.
June handed her the deck of cards and nodded. "Yeah I did but...I don't know it just felt...odd?" June shrugged.
"Oh yeah?" Annabeth questioned.
"Yeah...he just felt like...I don't know I'm clueless when it comes to new kids but he felt different." June laid down on her bed, groaning.
"Well, hey, I'm watching him too so you don't have to worry about finding all the answers. Okay? We are doing this together for a reason." Annabeth calmed June, showing her a card that Annabeth couldn't see. It was the queen of hearts.
June smiled and sat back up, nodding her head at Annabeth. "Yeah. But you're definitely the smarter one in this."
Annabeth nodded back and shuffled the cards a lot. "Hey, you're smart too. Okay? I might be wise but you are brawn type smart, yeah?" Annabeth held out the deck of cards, telling June to take the one off the top.
June shook her head and laughed. "I don't like the sound of that very much."
June picked up the card and it was the queen of hearts. Junes smiled turned big and she laughed.
"How did you do that?" June asked.
"A magician never tells their secrets." Annabeth stood up from the bed and put the deck of cards back onto Junes nightstand, starting to leave the cabin.
"Night June." Annabeth laughed to herself as she left the cabin.
"G'Night, Magician." June laughed to herself. Once Annabeth left the cabin Junes smile felt slowly.
The deck of cards giving her a vivid memory of her step-dad. It's not like he was like - dead - or anything but she was always worried that she was gonna lose him somehow.
But it's not like that could ever happen.
