*JJ's pov*
I woke up sore as fuck. Pope had been sprawling all around the couch we slept on and I had barely few inches to myself. I got up and walked to kitchen where I found y/n on her phone and John B preparing them breakfast.
„Good morning guys." I said tiredly.
„Good morning." John B answered to me. Y/n looked at me as I sat down next to her at the table. She whispered:
„Good morning J. Have you told Pope what happened yesterday?" She didn't want her brother to hear us.
„Yes, he's freaking out." I whispered back. It's true, Pope almost went to police to report himself when I told him what Cameron told y/n yesterday. Cameron. That fucker. He's been around lately more than I like. He's always shooting looks after y/n. I feel like there's something I don't know.
„Don't worry about it tho. I have it under control." I said to her.
„Yeah I'm not so sure about that J." She said as her brother handed her a plate with eggs and bread with ham on it.
„Thank you bubs." She said to him woth smile.
„No worries. Do you want something JJ?" He asked me. Of course I did.
„Yessir."
„Then make it yourself." He said with laugh as he sat down and started to eat his own breakfast.
„You dipshit." I cursed, he flipped me off.
„Guys stop it." Y/n said to us while she rolled her eyes. I got up and made my own food. Pope then woke up and joined us.
*y/n's pov*
„So I saw that there would be an outdoor cinema tonight in town. Do we want to come?" I said as Pope finished his plate and everyone was just sitting there doing nothing.
„We don't have plans for tonight so why not." JJ said, Pope looked at him like he has gone crazy.
„I can't y/n sorry. I have to work on something tonight on one of the yachts in the harbour." My brother told me. He than got up and went probably to his room .
„Guys I don't think we should go into town since Topper knows what's up.." Pope said, he still had the massive black eye from Topper and Rafe's attack.
„No we have to show we are not guilty, we will go." JJ stated.
„But you are guilty." I told JJ.
„They don't know that." He told me.
„I think they do." Pope said.
„We're going and that's it." JJ said then and stood up.
„Does anyone want to go surf now?" He asked us. Of course we did want to go.
We took our stuff and went to beach where Kie met up with us after I texted her where are we going. The four of us surfed throught almost the whole day. JJ showed me some cool tricks to try out on the surf. I fell into the water so many times that I lost count on that but after some fails I succeed in some of them. We then just laid on a blanket on the beach and talked. I told Kie about the outdoor cinema and she agreed to go with us. She however didn't knew about what Pope and JJ did. Pope was scared and he had every reason to be, who so smart like him would do such a stupid thing? I was also worried that we will run into Topper and his group there but JJ told us to just play it cool if we do. We came there early enough to sit where we liked, I was surprised at how many people were actually there.
We sat down on one big blanket that we brought with us, I sat next to JJ, between him and Kie, Pope sat on JJ's other side. It was already getting dark so the movie could start. They started playing it and we all watched. I was wearing jean shorts and oversized hoodie, I felt comfortable but I wanted to lay down. I rested my head on JJ's shoulder and he put his arm around me. We sat like that and watched the movie for more than 30 minutes but then I heard Pope and JJ talk about something. Pope sounded super anxious.
„What's going on?" I whispered to JJ, I tried to be as silent as I could to not bother everyone around us who was still watching the movie.
„They are here." He whispered back.
„Who? Oh..." I realized who he meant. I looked around and I saw Topper, Rafe and Kelce looking right at as, they sat across the small field, few meters away.
„I need to pee." I hears Pope.
„Then hold it, you don't want to meet them." I told him silently.
„No I can't hold it anymore."
„Pope are you fucking kidding me?" I can't believe this, everyone just keeps getting dumber or what?
„Guys what's going on?" Kie asked.
„Pope needs to pee." I whispered to her. She raised her eyebrow.
„Then go?" She had no idea what Pope and JJ did to Topper, she couldn't know they were probably waiting on them to go somewhere alone. I looked over at the kooks. I cought Rafe's gaze, we looked at each other for a brief second and then we continued to talk to our friends.
„JJ come with me, I have to go." Pope begged.
„Please man." Pope begged again.
„Alright I will go with you, play it cool alright? Deny, deny, deny remember?" JJ said to Pope and they got up, I looked after them and saw as Topper and his two friends stood up as well. Oh fuck. Not today please, there just can't be one fucking day without some problem.
„Kie I have to tell you something..." I started, I explained to her what happend with Pope, JJ and Topper and that they might have be in trouble. She thought exactly the same things about it as me, it was ridiculous.
We suddenly heard some noise from back of the field where the toilets were.
„Y/n do you think we should go check it out?"
„I think we have to Kie. Gosh I hate this. They can't just behave for one damn day." I said.
„Yeah, you're right." Kie responded. We stood up and walked behind the projection screen, where the toilets were. Yeah as I thought so, there they were, Topper, Kelce and Rafe arguing with JJ and Pope. Topper looked very annoyed and Rafe was saying something about revenge. Shut up Cameron. I rolled my eyes at this.
„You will pay for what you did you rats!" Topper shouted.
„We did nothing to you!" Pope shouted back. I can't believe this is our Pope, who's always the first to talk about consequences of your own damn actions.
„Leave us the fuck alone!" JJ shouted. Topper came closer to him. They hissed something at each other and then Topper pushed JJ away. They started fighting and Kelce got onto Pope, Topper moved past JJ to Pope and started fighting him too. Rafe came to JJ and they started fighting as well, everyone was shouting something, it was pure chaos.
„Let go of him!" Kie ran up to Pope and tried to help him, I looked at JJ he was being held by his neck by Rafe. I ran up to him and jumped on Rafe's arm.
„Let him go Rafe! Stop!" I tried to get his arm off JJ. He let go of JJ, JJ started to cough before he collected himself in few seconds.
„Leave Routledge, I don't want to hurt you." Rafe said to me with low voice.
„This is not any of your business doll."
As Rafe's words left his mouth, JJ threw hard punch on his jaw. They started fighting again. I tried to separate them but they pushed me away and I fell on my ass. They both turned their heads in my direction. I looked at both of them.
„Y/n go!" JJ shouted. I refused to leave him here. Kie was still trying to help Pope, she jumped on Kelce's back and he shook her off but she tried again. Before I knew it, JJ and Rafe were hitting each other again. I had enough.
I ran to JJ's backpack and took out the gun, I made sure I was careful enough so nobody saw me with it. I put it under my hoodie and rushed back to the boys and Kie. I came between all of them and took the gun out of my hoodie, I held it very tightly as I was super nervous some adult will see me with it.
„Get out of here!" I pointed the gun at Topper and Kelce. Everyone looked in my direction and they stopped fighting, however Topper was still holding Pope by the collar of his shirt.
„I said get out!" I shouted again. Topper let go of Pope and Kelce and him quickly rushed away from us. Rafe was still standing his hands in fists super close to JJ.
„Cameron!"
„This is not the end Maybank, I'm going to get you bastard." Rafe said to JJ's beaten face.
„Fuck of!" JJ said back in Rafe's face.
„Rafe go for fuck's sake!" I shouted again. He started walking in my direction. I was pointing the gun at him at this point. He was right in front of me and when he was close enough, he spoke to me so just I could hear him.
„You wouldn't hurt a fly y/n. We all know that, put the damn gun down before you hurt yourself." He said as he touched the top of the gun and lowered it down so I wasn't pointing with it at him anymore. I noticed his lip was bleeding, JJ did hit him back after all.
„I wouldn't hurt a fly but I could hurt a kook."
„Stop lying to yourself, you're too good for that. You're too good for them." He finished his sentence and looked over at JJ. He then looked quickly in my eyes and walked away after his friends.
I finally relaxed and put the gun into my hoodie. John B showed me one couldn't even shoot with it when it's secured like this but the kooks didn't know that. I surely couldn't hurt a fucking fly with this thing right now. I looked at Kie as she collected Pope off the ground. JJ was kneeling on the grass, he was looking at his hands covered in small cuts and wounds on his knuckles from all the punching.
„J!" I ran over to him and hugged him. He got another cut on his lip and blood was running out of his nose which I wipped off.
„Are you alright y/n?"
„Yes you?"
„Kinda"
„Let's get out of here guys!" JJ said to all of us, he took my hand and we got up. Kie and I went for our bags and the blanket we sat on and we left the outdoor cinema.
Pope had been very silent since the fight. JJ kept close to me, Kie tried to talk to Pope but she didn't get out of him more than few words.
„You could have gotten yourself in trouble with the gun little Routledge." He said to me quietly.
„You did that for me too and I know you would do it again J. I couldn't let them kill you both. I'm so fucking sick of the kooks and shit, I just had to do something." I told him and then I continued.
„I could also set the projection screen on fire or something." I tried to make him laugh, he chuckled but then he was all serious again.
„I know. Y/n promise me that if anything like this happens again, you'll get the fuck away. I'm not so sure they wouldn't hurt you and I can't always make sure you're safe." JJ told me.
„I can handle myself J."
„But I wouldn't forgive myself if you didn't Routledge. Please."
„Alright. Don't worry J, I'll get my ass out the moment I see them again." I said with sad chuckle. I just want to have one normal day goddamit. JJ brushed the palm of his hand against mine as we walked. I could tell he was feeling a little proud of me for how I handled the situation but he was also worried about me, and also angry at the fucking kooks. Kie left to her house and we walked Pope back to his. I was quiet worried about him, he never was the type to get into fights and stuff. Me and JJ then returned to the Chateau and went to sleep.
