A few days later, Taylor woke up a little early because she wanted to hear Travis' new podcast episode before starting into the day. Not just because she wanted to know what he would say about the game and her attendance but also because she wanted to hear his voice. The episode wasn't out yet. They agreed on her listening to it early so they could cut something if needed. Taylor took out her sketchbook so she could draw some little illustrations while listening. She had never been good at just sitting still and listening to something. Smiling after the first few words he said, she got lost in it immediately.
Taylor was a little surprised at how long they just talked about everything else before bringing it up. Also, they started into the topic fairly casually. The brothers didn't make it an absolute sensation and Taylor loved that about them. Travis also found perfect words and didn't overshare the slightest. He talked about what people knew already and was very respectful of their privacy in the sweetest way. Travis didn't even need to block off a topic obviously. He just found the right words and made it sound like he could talk about everything even though he couldn't. Jason was able to make him blush several times and knowing it was because of her, Taylor had the biggest smile on her lips only drawing hearts and other symbols of love on the paper in front of her.
"The episode is perfect! I miss hearing you talk already!", she texted him afterward before getting ready for the day. She talked to Tree about the episode later. She only listened to the part Taylor was mentioned in and she agreed. Travis did a great job at talking and not saying much. They both gained some trust in the man and, especially for Taylor, that was incredibly important. It didn't take many more days for her to finally invite him to visit her on tour again. The first date that worked for him was a while in the future though. She would be in Buenos Aires. But they decided that she could see his games sometimes until then. He would be in New York soon and Taylor wanted to make it work. He couldn't stay at her place the night before the game but afterward.
Luckily, it wasn't that long until this game was scheduled. She had another little surprise with her that, right now, nobody had seen. But at first, the game had priority and Taylor had a lot of fun at the stadium again. They still avoided being too intimate on camera but it was visible that they both gained a lot of trust in each other and could be more relaxed about their relationship. Taylor also brought a few friends so that he could get to know them and their bubbles would start to talk. That worked out perfectly. Taylor could finally talk to Blake in person again. They had a lot to catch up on even though they talked on the phone often recently.
Still, Taylor couldn't wait to meet him after the game. They didn't have the chance to see each other before the game but later, they finally said hello. At the restaurant they wanted to celebrate in, Travis managed to grab her hand and sneak into a corner. "I missed you", he told her before finally kissing her again. Taylor giggled obviously being a little tipsy already. "I missed you too. My big, strong football champion", she joked still giggling. Travis laughed kissing her one more time. "You should get yourself a glass of water", he told her getting back to the others again. "You sound like Tree", she said rolling her eyes. He shook his head still laughing a bit. "I'll get you one, okay?", he said not waiting for an answer.
When they went to her place hours later, Taylor did drink some water in between but she still got more drunk. Travis wasn't sober too but he had decided to take it easy earlier and now he could have an eye on her a little bit. "You played so good today", she told him with sparkly eyes trying to untangle her hair at the same time. He stood behind her looking at her through the mirror. "Thank you", he smiled helping her with the hair. Taylor giggled about that turning around to kiss him passionately. He was a bit surprised by the intensity she kissed him with but he went with it. "Mhh, Tay", he mumbled when she managed to get out of her dress while still kissing him. This was fucking hot but he wasn't sure if they should do this when she was drunk. She didn't even let him say anything though and started to undress him too.
Laughing a little, he got out of her arms after his jeans fell to the ground. "Let's not do this when we're drunk, okay?", he said. Taylor sighed unsatisfied in the most literal way. "But I wanna kiss", she whined when he dodged her next attempt. Travis shook his head giving her a quick kiss before leaving her alone in the bathroom for a moment. Maybe that would help. Taylor shrugged finishing her bedtime routine before stumbling to bed. "You're mean", she said cuddling up to him. "And you're cute when you're drunk", he answered kissing her head. "But let's sleep now, hm? You're going to have a headache tomorrow", he said pressing her against his chest for a moment. Taylor felt so safe and at home in his arms already that she just agreed silently and fell asleep soon after.
The next morning obviously did start with a headache for her. But Travis already had placed painkillers and a glass of water next to her bed. She didn't know where he found them but she was glad he did. "Good morning", he came back from the kitchen speaking silently. Taylor smiled at him tiredly. "Thanks for this", she said pointing at the bedside table. "I thought you'd need them", he smirked sitting down next to her. Taylor just pulled him back into the bed so he could cuddle her again. Suddenly, she remembered what she had done the night before and blushed immediately. But she also remembered that he stopped her and wanted them, and probably especially her, to be sober.
"I'm sorry for tonight", she mumbled. Travis just laughed. "You just had a drink too much. That happens", he shrugged. "I actually go from totally normal to legitimately thinking I'm a wizard within two drinks, so... That might happen again", she admitted a little embarrassed. Travis laughed again at her words. "I'll be the wizard's assistant, that's fine", he joked pushing her away a little to look at her. She smiled at him still with red cheeks. "Thanks for... yeah", she just said not looking him in the eyes. "I figured you might want to spend a sober thought on that decision", he explained brushing a strand of hair from her face. Gently resting his hand on her cheek, he got lost in her blue eyes. Taylor felt his deep look and got shivers when he finally kissed her again.
"I could make this decision now", she mumbled a little nervous but even more curious. He smirked, boldly shifting her shirt up a little so he could feel her soft skin. "You could", he said kissing her again, and this time less gently. Taylor's shivers reached another level and the decision was made. "Take this as a yes", she whispered directly into his ear before kissing his cheek and wandering down to his neck. A little sigh escaped his lips when her hands opened his jeans already. She was definitely not shy. This assumption was confirmed only minutes later. But he wasn't too careful as well. They quickly found some soft spots for each other and a way to communicate with only a few words.
After some giggles then sighs and then moans filled the room for a while, they fell back into the cushions breathing heavily. "Fuck", she let out making Travis laugh. "Why is it so hot hearing you swear?", he questioned making her laugh too. "I don't fucking know", she smirked looking over at him and meeting his eyes instantly. He grinned too before pulling her closer again to kiss her head. Taylor closed her eyes enjoying his gentle touch. He caressed her naked skin and played with her hair dreamily. Suddenly, these three important words came up in her head. She was a little shocked by herself and decided to not risk it now. This moment was too nice to ruin it with an unanswered "I love you".
