Resting in the shelter of the cart, Bilo and Sylvester contemplated their escape options. After careful deliberation, they decided to embark on a risky route – the sewers. While the subterranean passage offered a potential escape from the city's watchful eyes, it also presented its own set of perils. Beneath the cobblestone streets lurked not only nightmarish creatures but also the formidable forces of the government's specialized soldiers known as "Rat Catchers," tasked with keeping the horrors of the sewers at bay.

Aware of the danger, the duo recognized the need for an expert guide to navigate the treacherous underworld. Determined, they sought out the nearest pub, a place where whispers of the underground echoed alongside the clink of tankards and the hum of conversation. The air in the pub crackled with anticipation as Bilo and Sylvester entered, their eyes scanning the dimly lit interior for someone with the knowledge and expertise to guide them safely through the shadowy labyrinth beneath the city.  The fate of their escape now rested in the hands of this elusive guide, who could turn the tide in their favor or lead them further into the depths of danger.

The barkeep, ever vigilant to the hushed transactions occurring in the corners of the pub, discreetly pointed to a corner where an orc sat, a rifle casually strapped over his shoulder. Bilo and Sylvester, recognizing the potential guide they sought, approached the orc. With an air of cautious camaraderie, they inquired about his name.

The orc, with a strange foreign accent, responded, "Name's Jenkins." The trio engaged in conversation, and as trust began to build, Jenkins shared his unconventional life story. Born across the pond in Mississippi, orphaned, and adopted by a pair of human military veterans in the far north of Albion, Jenkins found himself drawn to London when war erupted. To avoid the looming draft that his adoptive parents feared, he discovered solace in the depths of the sewers. In the subterranean labyrinth, he navigated the twists and turns, finding refuge beneath the city streets when uncertainty reigned above.

As the trio delved into the specifics of payment, Jenkins, a man of integrity, vehemently refused any compensation. Bilo and Sylvester, however, insisted, and after a brief negotiation, they presented him with the exceptional shotgun acquired from the ambassador. Jenkins, a seasoned individual with an acute eye for weapons, immediately recognized the firearm's exceptional quality. Though reluctant, he accepted the gift, acknowledging the gravity of their endeavour.

With the ambassador, still unconscious in tow, the three adventurers ventured into the streets, guided by Jenkins towards a specific manhole cover. Their destination lay hidden beneath the surface, a threshold to the murky and malodorous realm of the sewers. Working in tandem, they lifted the heavy cover, revealing the entrance to the subterranean labyrinth that would serve as their conduit to escape.

In single file, the trio descended into the dark, damp, and repugnant depths of the sewers. The air hung heavy with the scent of decay, and the dim glow of moonlight from the holes in the manhole covers above painted eerie shadows on the tunnel walls. With Jenkins leading the way, the echoes of their footsteps reverberated through the passages as they embarked on a journey into the unknown, where the secrets of the underworld awaited, and the path to freedom lay concealed in the hidden recesses of London's underbelly

As Bilo and Sylvester descended into the depths of the sewers, an overpowering stench assaulted their senses, causing both to feel nauseous immediately. The putrid odor that permeated the labyrinthine tunnels was a stark reminder of the hidden perils that lurked in the subterranean world.  Jenkins, being an old hand at navigating these foul corridors, remained stoically unaffected, his resilience born from years spent traversing the noxious depths.

The winding tubes of the sewer system concealed many secrets, and Jenkins, demonstrating his intimate knowledge, pointed out the valuables hidden beneath affluent areas and goldsmith's shops. The trio progressed through the noisome passages, the gunman showcasing his marksmanship by dispatching various creatures that lurked in the shadows.

However, their journey met an unexpected obstacle in the ever-changing system of tunnels. A floodgate barred their way, presenting an impassable barrier in the complex web of the sewers. The trio stood before the obstruction, pondering their next move in the damp and dimly lit corridors. With the prisoner in tow and challenges ahead, the path to freedom seemed to grow more elusive with each twist and turn in the underground maze.

As the trio pondered their options before the obstructive floodgate, the rhythmic cadence of approaching footsteps echoed through the sewer tunnels. The urgency of their situation became apparent – a full contingent of Rat Catchers, his majesty's elite sewer soldiers, was closing in. Time was no longer a luxury; a decision had to be made swiftly.

Facing the dilemma of whether to forge ahead in an unknown direction or risk a confrontation with the formidable Rat Catchers, Bilo took charge. He handed the hostage over to Sylvester, who stood ready with magical prowess, while Jenkins remained vigilant, watching their back.

Bilo, fueled by his prodigious strength, seized the moment and attempted to lift the gate. The rusted metal resisted at first, but with determined effort, he managed to raise it. Unfortunately, in the haste and chaos, the heavy slab slammed back down, separating Bilo from the others and trapping him in the deeper waters beyond.

The situation intensified as the Rat Catchers drew nearer. Sylvester, Jenkins, and the captive ambassador now faced a critical decision – continue forward into the unknown, hoping to reunite with Bilo later, or confront the Rat Catchers in a perilous showdown. The tunnels, now filled with tension and uncertainty, awaited their chosen path, and the consequences of their decision hung in the air like a heavy fog in the dank confines of the sewer system.

Undeterred by the murky and potentially hazardous waters below, Bilo, the enormous rogue, plunged his hands into the filth once again, determined to lift the metal barricade that separated him from his companions. The putrid slop clung to him as he persevered, lifting the heavy obstacle long enough to allow Sylvester and Jenkins to pass under it.

With the prisoner back in their custody, Sylvester made sure to deliver another firm knock to the ambassador's head, ensuring he remained unconscious. The trio, now reunited on the same side of the gate, breathed a collective sigh of relief. The physical separation from the approaching Rat Catchers granted them a momentary reprieve, but the ever-present threat lingered in the shadows of the sewer tunnels.

As the echoes of the Rat Catchers' footsteps faded into the distance, the team continued their journey into the depths. The underground labyrinth, filled with unseen dangers and hidden treasures, awaited their exploration. With Bilo's strength overcoming the immediate obstacle, they pressed on, their collective fate entwined in the twists and turns of the sewer system, each step a gamble in the pursuit of freedom.

Sylvester, feeling a glimmer of hope for their imminent escape, inquired of their guide, Jenkins, about the remaining distance to freedom.  Jenkins, with a practiced sniff of the air, responded, "Not that far now." Encouraged by this news, the trio pressed forward through the twisting tunnels until they reached a significant junction.

The junction opened into a large, round room where filthy water flowed in from disgusting pipes in all directions. Catwalks extended to a central platform, creating a web of paths in the murky expanse. In the center of the room, a grotesque mass of abhorrent rotting flesh writhed and pulsated. The putrid stench hung heavy in the air, and the sight before them was both perplexing and unnerving.

Jenkins, his seasoned eyes widening, quietly exclaimed that this abomination wasn't present during his previous journeys through the sewers. The group, now faced with an unexpected obstacle, felt a chill run down their spines. The room, a crossroads in the subterranean maze, presented a choice –confront the macabre entity or find an alternative route, each option shrouded in uncertainty and potential danger.

Jenkins, drawing on the training imparted by his adoptive parents, wasted no time in taking action. The first shot from his rifle echoed through the grotesque chamber as the bullet pierced through what seemed to be the head of the abomination. His movements were a display of precision, a dance of death executed with the elegance and knowledge borne from years of experience.

The wizard, Sylvester, and the rogue, Bilo, scrambled into action, their approach more chaotic and primal compared to Jenkins' calculated strikes. They threw themselves at the monstrosity, attempting to exploit weaknesses with a more visceral and improvised strategy. Despite their less refined tactics, their combined efforts began to take some toll on the creature, yet it was clear that Jenkins' expertise was the linchpin in their battle against this sewer-born horror.

The chamber reverberated with the sounds of gunfire and the grotesque moans of the abomination. The sewers, once a maze of uncertainty, had now transformed into a battleground where the trio faced an adversary unlike any they had encountered before. In the dimly lit expanse, the dance of survival unfolded, with each gunshot and strike bringing them closer to either victory or the abyss that lurked in the infectious, watery depths below.

The tide of the battle took a sudden turn as the grotesque entity unleashed a chemical slurry onto Bilo and Sylvester. The noxious substance temporarily blinded them, disorienting their senses and leaving them vulnerable to the impending threat. As confusion gripped the wizard and rogue, the abomination uttered an incomprehensible string of syllables, causing Sylvester to move erratically, his magical control momentarily slipping away.

In the chaos that ensued, Sylvester, under the influence of the creature's gibberish, turned and cast a firebolt in the direction of Jenkins. Miraculously, the shot missed its mark, sparing their skilled guide from the wizard's unintended assault. Meanwhile, Bilo flailed wildly in the hopes of striking their unseen adversary but narrowly missed the shifting mass.

Jenkins, remaining composed amidst the disarray, maintained his focus. With unparalleled skill, he looked down the sights of his rifle and fired another round into the fleshy abomination. The shot pierced through the mass, causing it to bleed profusely. In the unpredictable dance of combat within the sewers, Jenkins stood as a beacon of precision and control, his expertise with the rifle unmatched in these perilous depths.

As the battle raged on, the trio found themselves entangled in a struggle against an otherworldly foe, each moment testing their mettle and pushing them to the limits of their abilities. The sewer-born horror, wounded but far from defeated, continued to writhe and pulsate, a testament to the unfathomable horrors that lurked beneath the city streets.

As the battle reached its climax, the abominable entity unleashed its tentacles, slamming and piercing Bilo with a brutal force. Sylvester, managing to evade the next onslaught of chemical sprays and madness-inducing gibberish, witnessed his companion teetering on the brink of defeat, battered and bruised by the monstrous foe. The situation looked dire for Bilo, a testament to the relentless and unpredictable nature of the sewer-born horror.

In a stroke of fortune, just as the terrible being seemed on the verge of victory, Jenkins, with unwavering accuracy, fired one final shot. The projectile found its mark, dispatching the creature and putting an end to the nightmarish encounter. With the immediate threat neutralized, Jenkins rushed to Bilo's side, helping him to his feet.

Regrouping in the junction, the trio took a moment to catch their breath and assess the situation. Bilo, though battered, was still standing, a testament tohis resilience. Jenkins, with a calm assurance, assured the adventurers that they were now within spitting distance of sanctuary.  The sewer-born horror, defeated but not forgotten, served as a grim reminder of the perils lurking in the depths below the city streets.
