TW: Calvin Harris, being shocked while awake, hospitals, rude reporters
A/N: this is the last time Belle will be cardioverted. Also the timeline is way off as is my medical knowledge.

"Alright remember how crazy it is on the red carpet so I need you to stay close to me sweetheart."
"Okay mom, I will," said Belle as the car was pulling up to the venue
As soon as the mother daughter duo exited the car photographer's were immediately shouting for both of them to look in every which direction to get their picture taken. But Taylor didn't let go of Belle once keeping a protective arm around her young daughter.
"Taylor! Taylor! Can we ask you a few questions? Taylor what's it like having a sick daughter" one photographer yelled? "Does it make your job harder?" These questions made Taylor visibly angry but she was trying to keep her cool and not make a scene.
"Belle do you feel like a burden to your mother since she's had to post pone her tour?"
"How dare you speak to my daughter that way?" Taylor snapped at the reporter.
"Miss Swift, I'm so sorry. I didn't think-"
"No, you're right you didn't think,"
"Taylor, belle come on let's go inside," said Tree catching up to her client.
"Why do I have a feeling I'm gonna have a long day tomorrow," said the red head. Normally Taylor's publicist would ride to and walk the carpet with them but unfortunately she got stuck in traffic on the way to Taylor's house and had to meet them there.
"I'll tell you what happened later," said Taylor. "Are you okay, sweetheart?" She asked turning her attention back to Belle.
"I guess" shrugged the young girl. "What that reporter said is not true you aren't ever a burden," said Taylor."
"Belle?" Taylor lifted her daughters' chin so they would be eye level. "Do you want to leave?"
"No," the younger girl shook her head. "I'm fine. Let's just go in."
Taylor looked at her daughter worried for a few more seconds before kissing the top of her head and obliging.

"And the winner is, Taylor Swift," Belle stood up to give her mom a hug before she went up to accept her third award for the night she had just performed with Madonna and had been announced as artist of the year.
"I want to thank my mom and dad who are watching this. The love of my life, my daughter Belle, thank you for coming with me tonight, baby. And last but not least I want to thank the fans who have supported me all these years. I'm currently working hard to get ready for this tour to truly make it the best one yet, I love you all. Thank you so much," the audience cheered as Taylor went back to her seat.
Belle couldn't help but feel guilty her mom would already be in the middle of tour if it weren't for her causing problems. She also felt slightly insignificant and unaccomplished when comparing herself to Taylor. The older women had just won three coveted awards and was about to embark on a sold out world tour and what had she accomplished? Cardiac arrest...twice...

Taylor tried to get her daughter to open up about what had happened on the red carpet over the next couple days, but Belle refused insisting she was fine. Taylor also suspected there was something else bothering her because the young girl was acting so unlike herself.
Every night before bed Taylor always comes Belle's room so they can talk about anything that's on her mind. Sometimes it's just silly stuff or gossip from Belle's school, however if there is something bothering Belle she always tells Taylor during that time and she still hasn't which was really worrying her.
Belle truthfully just didn't want to burden her mom with her silly problems, she already bothered her enough by ending up in the hospital constantly besides Taylor had been super busy preparing for tour. The older woman also decided to reluctantly give Calvin another chance after he apologized for what he said about Belle. There had been a lot of rumors going around about them being on thin ice since Taylor didn't even mention him during her acceptance speech.
Taylor still didn't feel comfortable introducing Belle to Calvin thinking it honestly was just way too early on in the relationship, but was incredibly impressed and happy over how romantic he'd been being lately. The older musician recently surprised her with a private island getaway and she was both shocked and excited. Not wanting to leave Belle home alone she decided the younger girl would stay in Nashville with Andrea while she was gone.

"Adam what are you doing?" Asked Taylor
Adam pulled out a small box which revealed a ring inside of it. Taylor gasped in shock feeling stunned.
"Taylor, will you marry me?"
"Marriage?"
Taylor couldn't be married right now.
"Adam, l'm sorry but I'm gonna have to say no, I can't marry you right now," said Taylor.
"What?"
"I can't marry you right now," she repeated.
"Why? Don't you love me?
"I do love you Adam? Im just not ready for marriage," said Taylor. "I have to think of my career and more importantly my daughter I have to put her first she doesn't even know you."
"Oh. I thought never mind let's forget this happened
"Adam, wait up. Let's talk about this." Taylor said trying to catch up to him.
"We should get ready to leave and go home.
Calvin really wanted to marry her?
They'd only been dating for a year. Yes it's her longest relationship so far, but marriage? Especially after what he'd said about Belle in the past. Taylor only felt more dignified in her decision when her mom called as she was walking back to the beach house. Andrea was taking Belle to the emergency room again because she wasn't feeling well.
So now Taylor was running to get her things so she could pack and fly back that night instead of the next morning. Calvin didn't even care, in fact he seemed kind of annoyed and refused to go with her so the relationship between them ended right then and there.

Belle was kept in the hospital a few extra days this time around because she was at a BPM of 200, she was also in a lot of pain because the doctors didn't have time to sedate her before the Cardioversion they just merely ushered Andrea into the waiting room before reassuring the young girl that they would be quick. It was quick, but so is a sledgehammer to the chest.
"I let her down, mom. I never should've left on that stupid trip," Taylor cried in Andreas' arms. They were in the kitchen while Belle was resting in the living room since they'd gotten home. Both members of the mother/daughter duo had felt guilt for different reasons. Belle because she felt like she was once again a burden in her mom's life. The women couldn't even enjoy a weekend getaway with her boyfriend without her ruining it. Taylor because this was the second time Belle had to be shocked back into sinus rhythm when she wasn't even there.
"No sweetheart, you have not failed her. You're doing everything you can. You got on that plane immediately when I called you," Andrea, strong and nurturing held her daughter tight. Her own heart aching at her daughter's distress and her grand baby's pain.
"Mom?" Asked Belle who had just walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water, she was a bit surprised to see her the older women's eyes red rimmed and flowing with tears. "Are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine. Baby. Just talking to your grandma. What are you doing up?" She asked grabbing a tissue.
"I was thirsty." Shrugged the younger girl.
"Oh sweetheart, one of us would've gotten that for you honey, you really need to be resting," said Taylor before quickly blowing her nose. "Come on let's get you settled," she added before grabbing you a drink and your ice pack.

Aside from that prior incident in the kitchen Belle really didn't move much on her own being to sore which worried Taylor cause she's normally having to bribe her daughter to rest when the doctors tell her to take it easy. The older women also noticed how quiet her daughter had been they'd been watching a lot of TV and movies together but her daughter didn't really smile or giggle at them like she normally would.
"Look what I snuck from the fridge?" Said Taylor showing Belle a can of whipped cream. "Don't tell your grandmother."
Belle just gave a tight lipped smile.
Taylor squirted some in her mouth causing Kitty to instantly jump up and lick her.
"It's already in my mouth," that answer wasn't good enough for Kitty. "It's mine," confirmed Taylor before putting more whipped cream in her mouth. This made Belle laugh a little bit.
"There's my girl. Want some?" She asked as Belle cuddled the Great Dane.
You shook your head. "Mom, did you and Calvin break up?"
Taylor seemed surprised by her daughters' question at first and considered not answering it but then decided being honest with Belle would be best especially if she wanted to encourage her daughter to always be honest with her. "I think so," she sighed. "Not confirmed, but yeah it's pretty much over."
"I'm sorry mom. You shouldn't have left that trip for me. Maybe you'd still be together. "
"What? Sweetheart, our breakup had nothing to do with you."
"Really?" Belle asked skeptical.
"Yes, really." Kitty leaving the couch allowed Taylor to pull her daughter closer.
"Listen sweetie, I don't want to give you all the details of my relationship because you're a child and shouldn't be burdened with adult problems but let's just say their were quite a few things Calvin and I didn't see eye to eye on. Our relationship had been on thin ice for a while, but this breakup is not on you at all, okay?" Taylor did that thing where she lifted Belle's chin up so her daughter was looking her directly in the eye.
"Okay."

"So we've run some tests to try and figured out that in addition to cardiomyopathy your daughter is also dealing with a condition called chronic Arrythmia," said Dr. Stephen's.
"So you're telling me I don't just have one heart condition I have two," Belle said seeming both annoyed and scared.
"Well your cardiomyopathy is most likely the cause of your chronic Arrythmia," said the doctor. "Luckily there are some ways to treat it."
"So what options are we looking at?" Asked Taylor holding Belle's hand.
"My recommendation would be that she has a pacemaker inserted," the doctor suggested. "This in combination with an ICD will help make sure her heart is functioning and slow down her heart beat. In the meantime I'm going to prescribe some non calcium channel blockers to help slow down her heart rate this should prevent AFIB from happening."

A/N: question: why do some of you who write fanfics with Taylor swift as a mom insist on making her a really shitty one? I'm not calling out anyone specific BTW. Do you just not know what a good mom is? Cause like getting visibly drunk in front of your kid is not good parenting, neither is slapping them in the face cause they said something you don't like...
