sa'niyah woke up from the 5th time tonight, she couldn't sleep the whole night, every night she'll only sleep for 2-3 hours due to her waking up from nightmares
she looked over at esmari, seeing her sleeping with her oversized t-shirt, as her only pajamas had to be washed after she pissed herself last night.
sa'niyah got up from the bed, she took a quick shower, before changing to one of her outfits for work.
the only work she had was prostitution, she did that most her life and that was the only thing she was good at, and was the only way she could access money.
after she finished her makeup, and left her red braids out, slicking down her edges, and she put on her heels and wore a black leather coat.
knowing her grandma wouldn't come back until tomorrow, she kissed esmari on the forehead before carefully leaving the apartment and placed the key under the mat.
she walks a few steps down before walking out of the area, she walked a few blocks down to the tram to reach her destination, which would take 2 train rides.

after sa'niyah bathed esmari, she optioned her body and she wore the same tee shirt as all of her clothes was drying outside the balcony sa'niyah was fixing up her hair, tieing the last bun.
"watchu think?" sa'niyah asked raring both her hands up.
"I no like it mama.." she grumbled as she sat inside the sink with her tiny body.
"watchu mean youn like it? I thought you said u wanted this hairstyle"
"I said I no like it!" esmari shouted a bit louder have a huge frown on her face, she was honest, if she didn't like something she will tell you in all honesty.
"well you gon have to learn how to be grateful" sa'niyah picked her up and walked her to the living room with her tinker bell plate on the floor from a bread toastie she had and a few old barbie dolls laying on the floor.
sa'niyah had a phone ring and instantly picked up.
"hello?"
"is this sa'niyah wills?
"who is this?" She asked confusedly hearing a white men's voice.
"I believed you have called for a spot for working with Greg's dinner?"
"oh yes!" she ran to her room and close the door.
"so any new updates?" she asked, feeling nervous and excited at the same time.
"we are glad you have applied with us, but unfortunately we already had someone who had got the job"
"are you serious?"
"my apologies sa'niyah, there was nothing wrong with your resume it's jus-
"ian never said there was nothing wrong wit it, and I've been calling y'all up if I got the spot for months and y'all don't fucking answer!!"
"I see you have a lot of emotion right now so I will leave, again I am so-"
"you know what fuck y'all and fuck whoeva got da job on everthing yall gon regret dis mistake" she ended the call and threw her phone across the room.
her breathing increased as she felt anger running inside her body, she couldn't control her breathing, like she was having a panic attack.
she closed her eyes and slowed her breathing down, counting up to 10, as she slowed down she open her eyes feeling tears coming out her eyes.
she wasn't upset she got the job, she was angry, she wanted to leave being out in the streets, and get a better job so she could make her daughter live a better live.
she cried thinking she had no hope, and nothing good will happen to her, every night she'll always pray for her daughter to live an healthy live and leave out of the projects and go to school with an education.
she had no hope.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
as she heard the door open she rushed straight outside seeing esmari was about to open the door but she pulled her in and picked her up.
sa'niyah knew her grandma was still at work,
so she didn't open the door, instead she slowly walked up to the door not knowing who was at the front door waiting for someone to say something.
"niyah open is me" sa'niyah recognised that face and open the door wit a mug.
"why you here?" she looked up at ace while holding esmari to the side.
"came to tel you da I got it"
"mama who dis?" esmari asked pointing directly at ace. "what I tell you is rude to point" sa'niyah moved her hand down and looked at her.
"go head and play I'll be back okay?" sa'niyah put her down and esmari ran to the living room to play with her toys while sa'niyah closes the door behind her.
"ain da my shirt she wearing?" ace smirked noticing esmari's shirt.
"is mine now.. and you should've told me you was coming" she crossed her arms as sa'niyah was worried with what she wore, she had on a black sports bra and black shorts, with her silver belly piercing dangling on her belly button.
"ain nuthin wrong wit wha chu wearing" he said reading sa'niyah mind not keeping his eyes away from her body, she wasn't fat but she wasn't skinny, she had a lil fat on her belly and legs, especially on her thighs, her body was curved and she had a few marks all over her body.
"you said u got green?" she changed the subject while looking away at his eye contact.
"yeh"
"can I pay next week? Im using the money to pay for esmari's preschool" she said truthfully, she wanted esmari to experience school for the first time.
"you ain gotta pay me, you jus gotta gimmie sum in return" he gave her a few bags of weed while licking his lips and approached sa'niyah which made her smile showing at her dimples.
"depending on watchu you wan" she tilted her head looking up to his height as she places both her hands against the sides of door.
"you kno what I wan" he hovered over her standing right infront of her while sucking his bottom lip and grins.
it was no suprise of what they both wanted, if sa'niyah didn't had money to pay, she'll have another way to pay, this was before ace was dating tanisha ofcourse,
they both held eye contact, sa'niyah could smell the strong cologne scent on him, with a hint of weed, which made her breath heavily.
ace slowly leaned towards her face until his phone rang and he step back with a mug, seeing who it is.
"go head and check on tanisha, I gotta head back anyways.." sa'niyah said lowly as she saw who was calling him.
"I'll see you soon doe" ace walks back while looking at sa'niyah before he heads downstairs.
sa'niyah grabs the key from the mat and opens the door seeing esmari playing with her dolls.
"you okay baby?" sa'niyah asked as she looked esmari and she nodded without saying a word.
"you hungry" she asked noticing if esmari doesn't respond, meant that she was hungry.
she nodded.
"lemme get you dress so we can go out to eat okay?" Sa'niyah smiled making esmari smile, she picked her up and changed her outfit before she changed hers.

SAME DAY
5:21 PM
after sa'niyah bought tacos for her and esmari from the taco truck, she watched esmari play with the other kids that were playing on the basketball court while a few guys were playing on the other side of the basketball court playing basketball.
while eating her tacos she couldn't stop watching ace on the courts as he was playing, he was shirtless and his whole body was sweaty while he wore his green shorts and white boxers as he's shorts were saggin down.
he did a 3 pointer and his team dabbed him up after they won the whole game. "gim mah money nigga" he grinned.
"you lucky this time" the other leader said lowly while aggressively handing his money to ace and he placed it inside his pockets.
he made eye contact with sa'niyah and his mood went up, he was happy seeing her, even though he already know she was here for a while.
"u seen me play?" he sat next to sa'niyah while both of his arms rested on his knees.
"yeh you played good" she smiled looking at him.
"watchu got fa me?" he locked down on the tacos and took one, making ra'niyah mug him.
"bitch those my tacos" she whinged crossing her arms.
"is chill I can buy you another one, I can pay fa lil princess too"
"okay" she answered quietly as they both got up and walked towards the taco truck.
"lemme get 4 chicken tacos"
"$12 dollars please"
"dere" he said handing the old man his cash, while waiting for his change and revive the tacos that also came with a half cut lemon on the side and a chilli sauce.
"thanks ace" she smiled as he handed her the food.
"is cool"
"mama!!"
"what??"
"trick..trick!" esmari yelled postering her mother to come and ace followed.
esmari did her cartwheel, which wasn't really a cartwheel but esmari felt proud of it.
"good job mama!!" sa'niyah clapped while ace looked at esmari confused not knowhing what she did.
esmari felt proud of herself, seeing her mother be happy for her.
"is you again!" esmari pointed but quickly placed her finger down remembing what her mother said.
"wassup lil girl.. was yo name?" ace asked as he leaned down to her height.
"esmari" esmari said twisting her body around and looks down. Sa'niyah chuckled seeing how shy she was.
"you dating mama?" esmari asked as she tilts her head, making sa'niyah raise her eyebrows and ace meeting eyes with sa'niyah and chuckles.
"girl come on we gotta go is almost time for bed" sa'niyah changed the subject and held her hand so they could walk back to the apartment which wasn't far from the basketball courts.
"what is you doing?" sa'niyah asked confusedly as she sees ace walking next to her.
"walking back home" ace said calmly and looked forward.
"mama up..up!" esmari brought both her arms up for sa'niyah to hold her.
"cm' ere" ace picked up esmari, noticing sa'niyah body language to esmari's response as she was tired.
