Back at the Gilbert house Grayson and Hope had spent half the hour talking about their last holidays
Grayson: No way. You actually saw Santa and Krampus kicking the crap out of each other? Sounds like Santa was a pro wrestler more than Bill Goldberg.
Hope: God you're a bigger nerd than Landon. I mean your love for horror movies competes you with my friend MG.
Grayson's Lizzie's boyfriend?
Hope: Yep. Oh and Josie is back in town for the holidays.
Grayson: Josie? Wow. I hadn't seen her since she stayed here for awhile. Said she was healing from things at the school. Which....I assume was that....dark path she was on you told me about.
Hope: Pretty much. But....back then....she was dating my ex and she....went dark when he came back with me.
Grayson: Is that also why she left town?
Hope: Not really. It's more complicated than that even I'm not sure.
Grayson slightly chuckled and looked at Hope again
Grayson: Hope? Do you....ever.....think about that kiss?
Hope: I....yeah. Sometimes.
Grayson: You okay? You seem down about it.
Hope: No I'm sorry just....my ex and I only broke up because......
Hope was interrupted by her cell vibrating it was Caroline calling her
Hope: It's Caroline.
Grayson: Go ahead.
Hope answers
Hope: Caroline what's up? What?! Oh god....I'll be right there.
She hangs up
Hope: I gotta go something's happened at the school.
Grayson: What is it?
Hope: One of our vampire students was bitten by a werewolf.
Grayson: Who?
Hope: The one we recruited last Halloween night.
Grayson: Derek? Derek Waller?
Hope: You know him?
Grayson: Ethan and I knew him. We went to the same school. We thought he was dead last year till I saw you stop him from killing Jenny Hewitt. Hell I was at his own funeral. But unless he had a twin who killed Jenny's friends.....I know that was him. I knew Derek well as I did with Derek. And after what you told me about Ethan dying a hero....I'm willing.....to help you help him.
Hope: I don't know. Grayson. He's not really been the same as he was as you knew him. His parents think he's a monster. And he won't talk to anyone. I mean lately I seen him with Lizzie but....nothing much.
Grayson: All more reason....I should go.
Hope grew a grin at him
Later back at the Salvatore Boarding School
Hope fed Derek her blood to cure him and from what him and the little boy he saved from bullies was some gray hair wolf attacked him
Derek: It had to be a werewolf. But I don't know who it is. All I know.....is always trying to get those kids off that other kid and then that thing came out of no where.
Caroline: Then we need to lock down the school inspect the were wolf students.
Jed: None of us have Grey Fur Headmistress. I would have known. If not me Finch. It had to be a rouge.
Caroline: Either way we have to catch it before Matt pins another hit on us. And the town will be behind him on shutting us down.
Grayson: Not if my parents support you. They supported this school since you first found it. Half of Mystic Falls support them more than Mayor Donovan.
Hope: And funded by the Mikaelson family. The Mayor has no power over them.
Caroline: Won't keep him from trying. He's just eager to get rid of all supernatural here.
MG: But he's no match for the super squad.
Kaleb: Hell yeah.
Derek: There's no point.
Hope: What'd you talking about?
Derek: I don't mean to be negative guys. And I appreciate everything you did for me. But I just saw my parents. HAPPY. WITHOUT me. My sister is gonna grow up not knowing she had a brother. They're just gonna tell her I'm dead. And being here. It's only made me feel more alone.
Derek walked out leaving everyone unsure what to do
Derek slammed the door in his room and he was angry and sad all at once and taking a picture of his parents from his night stand only made him more angry
He threw it shattering it on the wall
And Derek laid on his bed crying
