(Nightmare POV)
We made it to the entrance blot was talking about after a few confusing twists and turns and when I looked inside the entrance way of the hole I was impressed to see that the inside was like that of a wide tunnel. Exchanging glances with each other, I could see that blot was brimming with excited curiosity but kaipo on the other hand seemed to be wary as he held bubbles in his arms.
"...Kαιpo." I called out to Kaipo as he seemed to be squeezing his turtle too tight, if it wiggling around in his grasp was any sign. Snapping to attention, Kaipo looked over to me with anxious eye lights. "Yes?" Kaipo questioned to me as his tail flicked about. "Yoυ're ѕтαyιɴɢ нere." I said as kaipo's eye sockets widened in surprise and slight shock. "But why?! Did I do something wrong?" Kaipo asked in concern, while blot seemed taken aback by the sudden announcement too.
"Yoυ dιdɴ'т do αɴyтнιɴɢ wroɴɢ. We jυѕт ɴeed ѕoмeoɴe oɴ тнιѕ ѕιde ιɴ cαѕe тнe eɴтrαɴce cloѕeѕ oɴ υѕ αɴd ѕo тнαт yoυ cαɴ ĸeep ɢυαrd ғor αɴy ιɴтrυderѕ- I ɢeт тнe ғeelιɴɢ ѕoмeтнιɴɢ lιĸe тнαт мαy нαppeɴ ѕo ѕтαy pυт нere вυт oυт oғ ѕιɢнт, υɴderѕтαɴd?" I asked Kaipo to which he nodded albeit hesitantly. "Good." I said before turning to blot. Seeing me look at him, blot looks behind himself before looking back at me and pointing at himself. "I also have to stay?" blot questioned, a clear look of disappointment on his face. "No, yoυ're coмιɴɢ wιтн." I said which immediately boosted blot's mood as he tried to swim into the tunnel before I stopped him.
Giving me a look of confusion, blot tilts his skull in question as I pinch my nose bridge. "I dιdɴ'т ѕαy we we're ɢoιɴɢ ιɴ yeт ιdιoт." I said as blot responded with a sheepish look on his face while just saying "oh" in response. "So when do we go in?" blot questioned as I looked over at kaipo. "Oɴce I'м reαѕѕυred тнαт Kαιpo нαѕ α ɢood нιdιɴɢ ѕpoт." I responded as Kaipo seemed to look surprised at what I said.
"Aww, what a dear. I knew you cared about me!" kaipo said with a grin before quickly swimming around to find a good hiding spot and to get away before I whacked him with a tentacle. A small grumble escaping me in complaint to what kaipo said, I wait until he finally finds a spot that I deem good enough. Once that's all done, I turn to blot to tell him we could go down now but before I could say anything, he's already diving down earning a sigh from me as I swim after him.
As I swim down after blot, I could hear a small laugh leave from kaipo's hiding spot. Shaking my skull, I follow through the tunnel only to notice something. The deeper me and blot went, the darker it was, dark to the point where blot stood out like a sore thumb with his rainbow tentacles. Me on the other hand, was fine as my cyan glow dimmed down to my will. "Bloт." I quietly called as I stopped him from swimming any further by grabbing him.
"Dιм dowɴ yoυr colorѕ вeғore we ɢeт cαυɢнт." I said as my eye light glared down at him. "Oh, okay...how do I do that?" blot asked before going quiet when he felt the atmosphere change from slightly relaxed to heavy. "Yoυ Doɴ'т Kɴow How?" I calmly asked as my hold on blot's arm tightened slightly. "I can learn?" blot suggested as I let out a sigh in response. "Tнαт'll тαĸe тoo loɴɢ." I said as my mind reeled for any ideas.
Muttering under my breath, I freeze when an idea comes to mind. "Coмe нere." I said to blot before tugging him behind me. Since I was bigger than blot, I easily blocked him and when he was put behind me, it helped to block the bright colors from seeping out. "Froм нere oɴ, ѕтαy вeнιɴd мe αɴd вe qυιeт. Sнoυld eveɴ α peep coмe oυт oғ yoυr мoυтн or α pιece oғ yoυ ѕтιcĸ oυт, yoυ're doɴe ғor. Uɴderѕтαɴd?" I demanded as blot quickly nodded in confirmation. "Good." I said before leading the way.
(Some time later-)
(Nightmare's POV)
'How long does this damn tunnel go?' I internally questioned in irritation at so much of my time being taken by a seemingly never ending tunnel. As we continued going onward, I stop when I hear a growl come from behind me. The one responsible for that sound? Blot. "I'm hungry." blot quietly complained before shutting up when I glance over at him. "Bloт, тнere'ѕ ɴo lιvιɴɢ creαтυreѕ dowɴ нere." I quietly responded back, ignoring the fact that he spoke since I doubt anyone would hear since he was whispering. 'They might hear his stomach growling before his voice anyway' I thought as blot sulked in disappointment at my response of there being no prey around.
More time passed and I was about to lose another piece of my patience to this tunnel when a vibration sounded out in our surroundings. Feeling the vibration, my eye socket widens as I quickly pull blot down as deep as I could. As I did, I could see that blot was confused but didn't have a chance to say anything as the vibration soon became a rumbling sound that made blot stiffen as he stared into the dark in confusion.
As the rumbling sound got closer, blot practically stuck himself as close as possible to me as I continued to stare upwards. The one causing the rumbling sound soon revealed itself to be a strange looking submarine. As the submarine went by, I could see the lights on it faintly lighting up the surroundings to which I immediately went deeper into the darkness with blot still behind me.
Faintly, light passed over us but didn't stop as it continued moving. Soon, the submarine went by until finally we couldn't hear nor see it. Once it was confirmed gone, I moved away from the tunnels walls only to get yanked back by blot clinging onto me. "Bloт, ιт'ѕ ɢoɴe αlreαdy." I said in a low tone while blot stubbornly refused to let go. "It might come back at any moment! It's safer to stay here for a while longer just in case." blot said as I tried pulling blot off me. "Bloт, тнere ιѕɴ'т eɴoυɢн ѕpαce ғor ιт тo вe αвle тo тυrɴ αroυɴd. Tнe тυɴɴel ιѕ тoo ɴαrrow αɴd тнe ѕυвмαrιɴe ιѕ тoo вιɢ. Uɴderѕтαɴd?" I stated as I took one of blot's hands off me.
"Still..." Blot insisted as I swiftly took his other hand off me. "Sтαy ιғ yoυ lιĸe тнeɴ." I said as I started moving forward. "But you said I have to stay near you so we don't get caught!" blot blurted out as he quickly followed behind me. "Eхαcтly. So υɴleѕѕ yoυ wαɴт тo ɢeт cαυɢнт wιтн yoυr colorғυl тeɴтαcleѕ, ѕтαy вeнιɴd мe." I said as blot fumbled for words to stop me before giving up and grabbing one of my hands in his, still staying hidden behind me. "Bloт, I ѕαιd ѕтαy cloѕe вυт ɴoт тнαт cloѕe." I said as I tried taking his hand off before stopping when he just tightened his hold.
"..." Deciding to let it be, I continue forward with blot following closely behind. About 15 minutes has passed after our run in with that submarine and we we're now in a dilemma. Staring at the three tunnels that went deeper downwards in front of me, I couldn't help but frown as blot peeked over my shoulder to see what I was looking at before also looking troubled. "Do you think that monster from earlier is hiding down in one of those tunnels?" Blot asked near my skull as I continued to stare at the tunnels.
"Nightmare?" blot asked when I didn't respond, but how could I when I could feel it..."He'ѕ ɴeαr." I softly said as I glanced at the tunnels once more. "Who's near?" blot asked as he froze up slightly. "It's not the monster from earlier right?" blot questioned as he glanced at the tunnels with a wary look. "Iт'ѕ мy вroтнer dιмwιт. I cαɴ ғeel тнαт we're ɢeттιɴɢ ɴeαrer тo нιѕ locαтιoɴ." I said as I tried feeling for the connection's direction.
"Oh? Oh! Thank the seas, I thought it was something bad." blot said as his body relaxed in relief. "Tнere ιѕ ѕoмeтнιɴɢ вαd." I said as I stared at the tunnels, blot instantly stilling behind me from my response. "What is it? It's not bad, bad right?" blot asked as he looked at me. "I cαɴ'т тell wнιcн тυɴɴel нe'ѕ coɴɴecтed тo." I said as I felt worry fill me. "So what now? do we take a guess and go with it?" blot questioned as I let out a deep sigh in response.
"Iт'ѕ ɴoт lιĸe тнere'ѕ мυcн oғ α cнoιce, ιѕ тнere?" I responded as I looked back at blot. "...So tunnel one, two, or three?" Blot questioned to me as I silently let out a stream of curses in my mind.
