emdr

i thought i would never heal
from my trauma
i've talked about it with multiple therapists
repeating all the events i could remember
over and over of her

i thought i would never be able to let go
of what happened to me years ago
then emdr got introduced to me

emdr is a special type of therapy
that involves moving your eyes in a certain way
while you process traumatic memories
i wasnt sure how it would help
but i was open to the possibility

i didn't think it would help
i mean it sounds kind of weird
thinking about traumatic memories as someone guides you through those memories

it really helped me
the trauma feels further away now
like it cant get me from here

i learned
to take any possibility
that comes my way
