the next day ; saturday - game day

since yoona had to reach the school earlier than usual, her mother could drop her to school before work and she would arrive right on time
since it is a non school day, students can choose to not come but all yoona's friends decide to come and support her and seunghan + shotaro for the mens game
there were drinks and food selling everywhere by different clubs and societies
some were here just for food but honestly if yoona wasnt competing she would be there for food too
she warmed up with her teammates chatting about the game and random stuff
yoona smiled at the thought of events the night before, giving her so much strength to compete
their team started doing warm up exercises and the game will officially start in 20 minutes
the athletes are given time off to walk around for 15 minutes so yoona obviously went to look for her friends at the bleachers
"yoona!!" they waved as the girl ran towards the girls
"goodluck my yoonyyy" kazuha squeals as the three group hug tight
"dont worry okay, you're gonna do so well up there!" karina cheers as the rest of the group came to cheer, including seunghan and shotaro
sungchan was last on the horizontal line
his smiles widen before opening his arms signaling the girl to dive in for a hug
yoona wraps her arms around the boy tightly as he holds the girl dearly in his arms
"you'll do great princess , ill cheer for you from the bleachers okay? look for me when you feel down or defeated" he placed both his gigantic hands on both sides of her cheeks before pulling back into a hug again
yoona melts at the words "princess" being said to her from the one and only jung sungchan
"damn bro i guess it really escalated" anton whispered to seunghan
"you think they fucked??" seunghan, with no filter says as sohee tries to shut him up by covering his mouth with his palm
soon the game started and the girls went first, seunghan and shotaro joined the 9 to watch and cheer
whenever yoona scores, her nine goofy friends would scream and cheer for her at the top of their lungs
as the last score was scored by, yuki, the team's tallest member, everyone on the school's side stood up and cheered for the team
this meant they just need one more win before advancing to the finals
yoona huddles around her teammates and cheer as they got their first win as sungchan watched from the bleachers with the widest smile on his face
she dried herself a little with a towel before joining her friends to watch seunghan and shotaro who were already in the middle of the game
they cheered for their friends when they made a good play or scored and ofc, they won
they had a lunch break for an hour to the 10 decided to eat at a restaurant to avoid the crown in school
they chose one right outside as the three athletes had to get back in time for their next games
they chose a ramen shop that wasn't crowded so they got seats very quickly
the public couple - shotaro and kazuha sit together, then the They Like Each Other couple - wonbin and karina sit together and the I Dont Even Know couple - sungchan and yoona ofc sat together
they chatted about the game, about the couples, they gossiped and finished their food in about 20 minutes till the athletes had to get back for the last game of the day
not surprisingly, both teams won that and are advanced to the semi finals
"yoonaaaa you're carrying your team!" kazuha hugs the tired girl
"she ate everyone up omg" karina adds
"okay but that seunghan slan dunk, it was INSANE" sohee compliments causing his personal space to be invaded by seunghan
"hey what about me?" shotaro asks with a fake sad tone as his girlfriend kissed the boy's cheeks as a way of saying "you did really well"
the group bid goodbyes and had plans to meet tomorrow for the semi finals and finals
and of course sungchan is taking yoona home so they left together
as the two entered the car, the first thing sungchan did was cup her cheeks while kissing her before she could even sit properly
the girl blushes as her insides does tumbles
"god ive been waiting to kiss you, you did so well today" sungchan says before starting the car as her cheeks flushed red
the drive was filled with giggles and harmless jokes
as they arrived at yoona's house, she quickly pecked sungchan on the neck lowkey turning him on before leaving
the boy touches his neck where she kissed and smiles widely as he watches the girl enter the house

yoona's team won the semi finals by a hair leaving the team and yoona worried, but after getting consolation by their coach, the team vibes were back up and negativity just flew away
thats what their team is good at, good mentality which is what differs them from other skilled teams, same with the mens team
the mens finals started smooth for their team but it had a rocky ending and the other school ended up taking the win by a hair
we comforted snd congratulate shotaro and seunghan for winning 2nd and obviously they weren't discouraged
but the winning team started being cocky and talking shit to the school's men team, seunghan did say something back but was quickly stopped by his teammates saying that it wasnt worth
"look at your female team, is this the said 5'5 legend??" the cocky male points to yoona who was watching with furrowed eyebrows
"what??"
"im sure you're trash, maybe you could go join the cooking club instead of basketball" the lead said as his little minions attracting attention
her teammates ended up coming to watch only to realise yoona was the victim
but the guy's words did not affect the girl at all as she took a step closer to the male
"do you realise degrading women wont get you any wins and it certainly wont get you a girlfriend" she blurts at the guy causing him to look at her angrily
"you fucking slut!" he tries to attack her but his teammates held him back
sungchan who just saw the scene came closer to you to help but then recognised the male's face
"yoona i think we can stop here, lets go" sungchan tries asking her to leave but she continues
"ooh, slut shaming, wouldnt sound good on the intenet would it?" yoona shows her phone recording a voice note
"basketball championship 2024 victory leader actually a women hater and a slut shamer" she said dramatically
"what a good headline for the school board" she says as she uploads the voice notes to the male's school board as his teammates held the male back
sungchan knew this wasnt a good idea so he pulled you back and had all your teammates and friends leave just the two of you
"delete it right now" sungchan said
"delete what??" the girl asked in confusion
"the voice note post, delete it" sungchan demanded, he had a serious look on, anyone could tell he wasnt joking
"why?? are you siding with the jackass right now" yoona says, getting heated
"its for your own good just delete it!" he raises his voice at the girl by accident
the girl was taken aback by the sudden anger directed towards her
she felt betrayed and hurt, her eyes were watery as she took out her phone and deleted it
"fine here it is, are you happy now?" she shoves the phone into sungchan's face
his gaze went from a stiff and angry look to now soft and worried, he slowly realised what he did to her
kazuha and shotaro who were around heard the commotion and came to check
"guys? whats going on? is everything alright?" shotaro asked but it obviously wasnt
"gosh why do all people do is scream" yoona breaks down and runs off as kazuha follows whilst texting karina to come help
"dude what happened" shotaro asked the boy standing in shock
"i think i just, yelled at her" sungchan says something he wouldn't believe
"lets calm down okay?" shotaro says
"no we have to solve this! that guy, that jackass leader was an absolute disaster back at my old area, he would get shit leaked of him and he would track them down and beat them up, i cant have that happen to her!!" sungchan explains as shotaro finally understood the situation
as he was explaining angrily, an unknown tear fell from his eyes and was wiped away aggressively
"its okay, we'll solve this lets go talk to the boys and karina and kazuha" shotaro leads the boy back to the bleachers as everyone looks worried
"sungchan! wheres yoona the game is about to
start" seunghan panics as sungchan scoffs
"how would i know" he says in a defeated tone as he sits on the bleachers
"im here, im here, sorry coach im coming!" the girl yelled from the door attracting attention as she ran towards her team without even glancing at sungchan
karina & kazuha with yoona at the toilet ;
kazuha followed yoona to the toilet as she broke down
"are you okay?? whats wrong tell me" kazuha hugs the female as karina shows up right after
"yoon! gosh i was so worried" karina hugs the girl together with kazuha

yoona was constantly yelled at when she was younger by teachers, relatives and mostly her own father so now that she's older, she wouldnt be able to take any yelling from anyone without breaking down
but she wasnt upset at the fact that he YELLED, instead she was upset that HE was the one who did that, the one who she loved and trusted the most did that to her feels like a stab in the back
"i just wanted to stand up for myself? i fucking hate being belittled because im a girl and you all know that" she rants as tears stop trolling down her face
"its fine yoon, you're okay" karina hugs her tightly

"you got a game to win right? win it and show them that you're nothing like that jackass said" kazuha said snapping yoona back to reality
she cant just sit here and be sad, she has a game to win
she rushed back to the stadium just in time as everyone was looking for her
the game started shortly as the vibes within the friend group were really down, yoona channeled all the emotions into her game and went as hard as she could, scoring whenever she had the chance to
she was on fire and they won by a landslide, as yoona lands her last score, people jumped and cheered for them, they huddled around and celebrated happily
the award ceremony started and the men's received theirs first, the friendgroup + yoona clapped for seunghan and shotaro whereas it was pure silence when first plays got theirs
next it was the womans and yoona's team happily and cheerfully received their trophy
her friends watching her reach this milestone as she cracks a smile as the team shouts
"three....two.... one!! we're number one!" they scream as they lift the trophy up high gaining cheers and applause
after small celebration amongst the team, they all agreed they were too tired to celebrate today, so they agreed on another day to celebrate
yoona grabs her bag after changing as fast as possible to leave as soon as she can
seeing that only karina and kazuha waited for her, she was hurt and didnt know how to feel not seeing sungchan at the end of the court either smiling at her or running at her to help with her bag
she shook off those thoughts as karina offered to drive the girl home cuz clearly she was too tired to even walk
reading the room, karina and kazuha decide to not say anything for now and just let yoona sleep
"remember to call us in the morning!" the girls drove off as she enters the house
the minute she got home, she took a warm shower and immediately jumped onto her bed to recharge
except she couldn't instead she sobbed her broken heart to sleep
