—— WALKING THROUGH THE casino Azaleas eyes scanned all of the people chatting and hanging out around her. There were people laughing up a storm, gambling, drinking and having a good time every were the young girl looked. "This place is a lot bigger than it looked from the outside." Grover spoke out loud the sound of gambling machines chiming in the background.
"He could be anywhere." Grover continued.
"Let's split up." Azalea turned on her heals to look at Annabeth like she was crazy. "I thought we didn't do that anymore." Percy noted.
"It would make no sense to split up in a place like this." Azalea made her point, not understand why Annabeth would want them to split up.
"Also, you guys have seen him before, but I haven't" Percy continued. All of the them standing in a little circle to be able to hear each other over the loud chattering. "So I'm not going to be much help alone."
"Go check that side of the floor, I'll take Percy and Azalea this way." Annabeth pointed to the side Grover would be looking on. "One way or the other we meet back in the lobby in 20 minutes."
"What do I say to him if I find him first?" Grover questioned.
Azalea shook her head "nothing, because I'm going with you. Two and two." The blonde girl put her hands on the saytr's shoulder, looking to Annabeth and Percy to see if they'd agree. Her eyes scanned the brown haired girl and then roamed over Percy whose jaw was slightly clenched.
"Yeah, of course." Annabeth gave her a small smile.
"Great, come on." Azalea pushed Grover away from there other friends and through the opposite side of the casino, weaving through people and what Azalea thought were extremely outdated outfits the two made it to a more bar area of the hotel.
"Yikes that lady looks like she's from 2001." Azaleas eyes widened at the extreme low rise jean. "Don't you think so, Grover." Her eyes were still looking back at the young lady who had walked by her. Hearing no response she brought her eyes back in front of her "Grover." Azalea asked out loud calling for her missing friend it seemed as if he had disappeared in thin air.
"Grover." Azalea called out a little bit more worried shoving through a few more people. Where the hell did this kid go, "Dammit, this kid."
Azalea walked through some more people looking for the saytr, he was no where to be seen. Now she was standing in the middle of a bar and game table many adults cheering and laughing around her. They held drinks of all kinds and the air had a slight stench of cigars.
She was very confused finally she had had a time to stop and think, where were all of the Lotus flower? She hadn't seen any? And yet something was off she could feel it, the blonde girl fidgeted with her necklace.
Azalea's spotted what looked to be a full champagne glass, she looked around to see if anyone was staring at her but all of the adults were in their own worlds. "Don't mind if I do." Azalea quickly grabbed the champagne glass and drowned the contents inside. She put the glass back on the side table and made a face of disgust.
"Okay, Grover decided to ditch me, so I need to find..." she mumbled to her self looking around the dimly lit casino. "Ummm, I need to find." It was on the tip of her tongue there was someone missing. "Uhhhhh? I don't remember." She continued talking to herself.
In the moment Azalea didn't know what to do, she was now lost in this big casino with no clue of what was going on. Except for the fact that her friend had ran way from the blonde and left her in his tracks. Azalea's friend what was his name again?
The daughter of Persephone wondered around for a bit weaving through tons of people playing cards and countless tables that were left unattended, which Azalea my might or might of not found a few forgotten drinks on the table to steal. But by the time she made it out of the casino part it had been at least 10 minutes and now her head was buzzing and she had a bright goofy smile from the alcohol going through her about it.
From far away she the shallow melody of upbeat music flowed through her ears, attracting the girls attention. Nodding her head she followed the sound humming the tune, she began to recognize as she walked closer the music.
The black came across a dance floor that the tiles it was made of was glowing different colors and was full of people dancing and mingling with each other. Even though most of her memory was gone the minute her feet hit the dance floor all of her memories of her friends and how she got here was truly lost.
"Now this is my shit." She dances by her self and had no shame in it, one of her favorite activities was dancing, Azalea loved dancing and had no problem dancing to herself between groups of people. Her blond hair swayed back and forth as she embraced the music and moved to the rhythm.
—— "GROVER?" Percy marched up to the saytr that had a VR headset on completely lost in his own world. Annabeth and Percy had been searching around the casino four their friend in a panic they had already wasted so much time that shouldn't have been wasted in this hotel.
Grabbing the harness Grover was attached to Percy spun it a round "Grover?" The blonde boy repeated in a concerned tone. When Grover didn't respond Percy got up on the platform and took the headset of off Grover's face. "I was so close" He complained.
"I know, I hate it when someone does that to me. And I can't believe in the one saying this but it's really time to go." Percy looked between the two. "Of course, where are we going." Grover nodded his head.
"You don't know who we are, do you." Percy scrunched his brows together staring down the very confused satyr.
"Yeah, no I don't. Have we met?" Grover extended his hand out for one to the thirteen year olds to shake. The blonde boy grabbed on to his friend's hand "Percy, Annabeth, we're your best friends." He nodded his head towards Annabeth.
"Really?"
"Oh boy" Percy mumbled. "Grover, we're on a quest. We can't do this without you, we're short on time and we gotta go. Right now."
"A quest? That sounds amazing!" Grover unzipped himself from the harness he was wearing "But is it dangerous? It's not a deal-breaker, I'm just curious. Also I'm sorry what's your name again?" Grover got down from the VR platform.
Percy sighed "Percy, Annabeth and Az... Azalea!" Percy completely panicked, she was no where to be seen. But this didn't make sense Azalea said the flowers wouldn't affected her. "Grover where is Azalea." Annabeth's and Percy's eyes widened looking at each other, they had completely forgotten about the blonde girl.
"Azalea, Azalea who?" Grover questioned not even remembering the girl he had ran away from in the first place. "Oh my god, where could she be?"
"She couldn't have gotten far let's look around." Annabeth suggested calmly.
The three had stuck together speed walking around the casino calling out her name and dragging the confused Grove without them, they were having no luck. Until they were all walking past the darkened area playing music with different colored lights flickering on and off. Percy was all a sudden stopped being hypnotized by a blonde girl dancing around, almost as if she was the golden sun shining through dark storm clouds.
Percy put out his arm stopping his friend in their tracks "found her." He told them Percy's eyes being glued on her. Azalea was being twirled around by a boy that seemed older than her dancing with the short girl. Percy clenched his fists watching Azalea dance around with this strange she had clearly just met.
He marched over to Azalea who had no clue in the world what was going on, "Azalea!" Percy called out to her. She stopped jumping around with the boy who had asked her to dance a few minutes ago and turned to the voice beside her. "You wanna dance too?" She gave him a toothy smile, her words a little slurred.
"No we have to go, you know this." Percy wore a confused look on his face.Before splitting up Azalea had told him she wouldn't be able to forget and yet here she was. "You said you wouldn't forget." he spoke a little louder because of the music being played by the band.
"I'm sorry do I know you." Azalea giggled motioning to him.
"I'm your best friend, Percy and you other two best friends are standing over there Annabeth and Grover." He pointed to the two kids watching their interaction intensely.
"Come on we need to go." Percy urged, grabbing onto her wrist and pulling her along. Not before being stopped by the older boy Azelia had been dancing with moments before "Hey, she said she doesn't even know you." The boy grabbed onto Azalea's shoulder stopping her from getting pulled along.
"Oh please." Percy rolled his eyes shoving the older boy back by his chest. "You don't even know her name." Percy continued pulling the extremely confused, blonde girls to their friends, standing not too far away.
