"It's okay. I need that book now, Caleb. There are some things I need to figure out before it's too late," Diya looked straight into his eyes as she spoke.
"I'm sorry, Diya. I didn't bring the book. It's still at my house," Caleb replied apologetically.
"I'll come with you to your house to get the book myself," Diya insisted.
"Is there something you're not telling me, Diya?" Caleb questioned her, trying to understand the urgency behind her request.
"What do you mean, Caleb? I don't know what you're talking about," Diya replied, attempting to hide her true intentions.
"I just want you to know that you can trust me, Diya," Caleb said, hoping to reassure her.
"Right. Let's get going then. We need to hurry," Diya smiled weakly, trying to conceal her unease.
Caleb chose to remain quiet and acquiesce to Diya's wishes to prevent any more disagreements about her unrevealed motives. Although he accompanied her back to his home that night, he couldn't shake off the feeling that she was plotting something behind his back.
