⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ ࣪
VIOLET GILMORE, 25-year-old adopted daughter of hartford's elite richard and emily gilmore, spent her whole childhood trying to be perfect.
perfect grades. perfect attitude. perfect life.
the list went on and on.
and that was the way life in the gilmore household worked. when your mother was a member of the daughters of the american revolution (d.a.r for short) and your father was in the insurance business, violet couldn't settle for anything less than perfect.
the gilmore family wouldn't allow it.
it was just the way the world worked.
or, how it did ever since she was seven years old when her sixteen year old sister, lorelai, got pregnant and ran away after she had her baby, leaving her sister alone in a house full of guilt and resentment and astronomically high standards.
after being adopted by the gilmore family when she was only six years old, she didn't remember much about her childhood before.
and by much, the only thing that she really remembered was that she was raised in a small town in cuba, and when she arrived at the gilmore household in connecticut — it was ultimately a shock to the system, seeing as she had to learn a whole new language, alongside going to a very plaid and old private school full of kids who didn't take very kindly to the new gilmore girl.
so, ever since the fourth grade, violet decided that the only way she could control her life in the present, was to control her future.
because, in the future, violet was going to be a perfect surgeon and prove all of those kids wrong.
therefore, after graduating yale med school (where her last two years of college consisted of her living next door to her niece and control-freak friend), violet gilmore moved to seattle to begin her internship.
though, everything was far from perfect.
it was all going to shit.
