Today is a big day, for both me and Minji. Minji is making her debut, and I'm going to watch her success unfold before my eyes.

As soon as the music video was released, I ran to meet her, marker and notebook in hand. I found her in one of the practice rooms, tears streaming down her face as she watched herself in the video. She had made it.

Minji was still unaware of my presence, lost in the emotions of her achievement. I decided to lift up the atmosphere, stepping forward with a grin plastered on my face.

"Oh my! Isn't it Newjeans' Minji?" I exclaimed, trying to catch her attention.

Minji's head snapped up, surprise evident on her tear-streaked face. She blinked, trying to process my sudden appearance.

"YN?" she gasped, her voice shaky with disbelief.

I nodded eagerly, closing the distance between us in a few quick strides. "I'm a fan of yours! Congratulations, Minji! You were absolutely amazing in the video. I knew you'd shine!"

A small smile tugged at the corners of Minji's lips, her eyes still shimmering with unshed tears. "Thank you. I couldn't have done it without you."

We hugged tightly, the weight of our shared journey finally lifting off our shoulders. Despite being transferred to different labels, our bond remained unbreakable.

"Can I have your autograph?" I smiled, holding out the marker and notebook.

Minji chuckled softly, wiping away her tears with the back of her hand. "Of course," she replied, taking the marker from me.

With a flourish, Minji signed her name on the pristine white page of the notebook, her signature elegant and flowing. She handed it back to me with a smile, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement at the thought of having her autograph.

"Thank you," I said, my voice filled with genuine gratitude.

Minji waved it off with a grin. "No problem. You're my friend, after all."

As I tucked the notebook safely away, I couldn't shake the feeling of pride and happiness that swelled within me.

"Am I the first to receive your autograph as Newjeans' Minji?" I asked, unable to hide my curiosity.

Minji chuckled, a hint of embarrassment coloring her cheeks. "Actually, yes," she admitted sheepishly. "You're the first one to ask for it."

A sense of pride swelled within me, knowing that I held a special place in Minji's journey as she embarked on her debut. "Wow, I feel honored," I grinned, feeling a surge of warmth at the thought.

Minji grinned back, her eyes sparkling with affection. "You should be," she teased, nudging me playfully.

"We're each other's first," I chuckled, the memory of Minji eagerly asking for my autograph as soon as I made my debut flooding back.

Minji's eyes widened in realization, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. "I guess we have a habit of making each other feel special," she remarked, a hint of mischief in her voice.

I nodded in agreement, feeling a swell of affection for my dear friend. "That's what friends are for, right?" I replied, a smile spreading across my face.

I had a mischievous grin on my face as Minji looked at me questioningly, clearly wondering what I was up to.

"What-" she started to say, but I interrupted her with a teasing sing-song tone, mimicking her part in her debut song. "Want attention, wanna want attention~"

Minji's eyes widened in surprise, then narrowed playfully as she realized what I was doing. "Yah!" she exclaimed, giving me a playful shove.

My eyebrows furrowed as I adopted a mock-serious expression. "Where is your respect towards your senior?" I asked, teasing Minji playfully yet seriously.

Minji's eyes widened in faux innocence, a mischievous glint dancing in her gaze. "Respect, huh? I think I left it in the studio," she replied, unable to suppress a giggle.

I shook my head in mock disappointment, trying to maintain my stern facade. "Well, it looks like I'll have to teach you a lesson in respecting your seniors," I declared, wagging a playful finger at her.

Minji laughed, her playful demeanor melting away any remaining tension from earlier. "Bring it on, YN," she challenged, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

We both dissolved into laughter, the tension from earlier melting away as we teased each other like old times. In that moment, as we shared a lighthearted exchange, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the friendship we shared and the joy we brought to each other's lives.

Two years ago...

October 2020
I was drenched in sweat, my breaths coming in ragged gasps as I leaned against the wall of the practice room. I had been here for three hours, practicing the same song over and over again, but I just couldn't seem to master the dance.

Frustration boiled within me as I replayed the choreography in my mind, each step feeling more elusive than the last. I had poured my heart and soul into every move, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't seem to get it right.

As exhaustion threatened to overwhelm me, a familiar voice broke through the haze of my frustration. "Hey, you okay?"

I looked up to see Minji standing in the doorway, concern etched across her face.

"I'm just... struggling with this dance," I admitted, feeling a pang of embarrassment at my inability to master the routine.

Minji stepped into the room, her expression softening with understanding. "Hey, don't worry about it. You'll get it eventually," she said, her voice filled with unwavering confidence.

Her words were like a lifeline, pulling me back from the edge of despair. Together, Minji and I spent the next few hours practicing tirelessly, pushing each other to do better with every step.

March 2021
I still remember how surprised I was to be a part of the upcoming group. The news had come out of nowhere, catching me off guard and leaving me speechless with disbelief.

Excitement surged through me as I processed the reality of the opportunity before me. Without a moment's hesitation, I ran to find Minji, eager to share the news with her.

Bounding down the hallway, I finally spotted her in one of the practice rooms, lost in her own world as she perfected her dance moves. Bursting through the door, I couldn't contain my excitement any longer.

"Minji!" I exclaimed, my voice breathless with anticipation.

Minji looked up, surprise flickering across her features at my sudden entrance. "Oh-hey, what's going on?" she asked, setting aside her dance routine to focus on me.

"I-I'm going to be part of the upcoming group!" I blurted out, barely able to contain my excitement.

A wide smile spread across Minji's face as she rushed forward to envelop me in a tight hug. "YN, that's incredible! I knew you had it in you!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with genuine happiness for me.

August 2021
My dream finally came true-I made my debut. The excitement and nerves leading up to that moment were overwhelming, but as soon as I stepped onto the stage, all of those feelings melted away, replaced by pure exhilaration.

After the performance, I was greeted backstage by a flurry of congratulations and well-wishes from my fellow trainees and staff members. But the person whose opinion mattered most to me was Minji.

As I emerged from the dressing room, still buzzing with adrenaline, I spotted Minji waiting for me, a radiant smile lighting up her face. Without a word, she enveloped me in a tight hug, her joy and pride palpable.

"Congratulations, YN! You were amazing out there," Minji exclaimed, her eyes shining with genuine happiness.

Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes as I returned her hug, feeling overwhelmed with gratitude for her unwavering support throughout my journey. "Thank you, Minji. I couldn't have done it without you," I replied, my voice choked with emotion.

"Can I have your autograph?" Minji asked, handing me a marker and a piece of paper.

I chuckled, feeling a surge of warmth at her request. "Of course," I replied, taking the marker from her hand.

With a steady hand, I signed my name on the paper, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment wash over me. Handing it back to Minji, I couldn't help but grin.

"Thanks, Minji," I said, feeling grateful for her unwavering support and friendship.

Minji grinned back, tucking the paper away carefully. "No problem. Just remember me when you're famous," she teased.

"I'm the first to receive your autograph since you made your debut, right?" Minji asked, a playful twinkle in her eyes.

I chuckled, nodding in agreement. "Yes, you are," I confirmed.

Minji grinned, a sense of satisfaction evident in her expression. "I feel honored," she teased, giving me a playful nudge.

I rolled my eyes playfully, unable to suppress my own grin. "Well, you should. After all, you've been there with me every step of the way."
