Third person's pov-
As if sensing the impending danger, shadow turned in time to see Franklin pulling the trigger
His eyes widened and he reached out and pulled Ace just in time and instead of the bullet piercing her heart, it went into her stomach and she winced
"Motherfucker!" She cursed as she glared at the dying man on the ground
She kicked him in the nose and he fell back. She examined her wound with a frown etched on her eyebrows
"You good?" Shadow asked
"I'm okay let's get this shit done with already" she said and shadow shook his head
He walked to the table and took the scarf and helped her tie it on her bleeding stomach
"You will only die by my hands, until then nothing must happen to you" he said and she rolled her eyes at him
"The petrol has been spread around the entire house. We'll leave this idiot here, let's go" shadow said and Ace nodded but something caught her eyes
A file on the table with the De'Luca name on it in bold letters. She knew something important must be inside so she sneakily grabbed it from the table
While they were heading out of the mansion, someone caught Ace's eyes. Someone she thought she would never see at this party
Standing there was her brother, Domenico who stood observing the party with his calculating eyes
Panic flooded Ace as she knew the house would go up in flames any moment from now
"I'll meet you outside. Do not light the house up without me understand?" She said and shadow squinted but agreed nonetheless
She made her way to Domenico and grabbed his hand and dragged him out of the house without anybody noticing
As they left the house, Domenico removed himself from her hold with a harsh glare
"Who the fuck are you and how fuckin dare you touch me?!" He asked and he eyed her in disgust
"Leave the party right now or you will regret it" Ace said firmly, barely managing to stop her voice from shaking
"Who do you think you are to tell me what to do?" He sneered and she clenched her jaw
"Just fuckin leave!" She snapped and his eyes widened as if in realization
"Bambina?" He said in shock
"What the fuck are you doing here? Do you know how dangerous these parties are? Is this why you told Antonio that you won't be home early?" He asked and she closed her eyes in frustration
"I don't know who you are talking about just leave or I will have to force you to" she threatened and tried to walk away but he pulled her back and removed her mask. She froze and immediately put it back on, praying no one saw her face
"Go home right now bambina or I swear I'm going to tell Antonio what you're actually up to" Domenico said coldly
"I will, I was about to leave when I saw you. You need to leave right now" she pleaded
"Okay but you're coming with me. Let's go" he said and she shook her head
"I promise I'll go home but you go now. Trust me" she said and he narrowed his eyes at her
"You keep saying that. When will you actually tell me what's truly going on?" He asked in concern
"Soon brother" she said and he reluctantly got in his car. He stared at her for a minute before driving off
She turned around and sighed in relief. She walked to the back of the house and saw shadow leaning on the wall while smoking
"Oh my gawd he looks so hot"
"Shut the fuck up. This isn't the time"
She walked to him and he just stared at her in suspicion
"Ready yet?" He asked
"Hmm" she hummed and he walked towards her as he threw his lighter back and soon after, the whole house caught up in flames
Horrid screams could be heard inside the house. All the exits were locked so they had no where to go
They both got in the car and drove away from the still burning house
Ace closed her eyes finally feeling the pain catching up with her. She had lost alot of blood
Shadow turned his gaze from the road to the woman sitting next to him. He noticed the color drain from her face
"How you holding up?" He asked
"I'm fine" she said through gritted teeth as she looked at her bloodied stomach
He nodded and increased his speed. When they got to the safe house, Ace staggered out and crouched down and began to cough up blood
Shadow sighed and grabbed her arm to support her but she pulled away
"Behave yourself. You're bleeding out and still have the energy to be stubborn?" He snapped at her and he grabbed her again but this time she didn't resist
He guided her to the couch and sat her down. He walked into the kitchen and brought back some alcohol and placed it in front of her
"You might need this" he said and she immediately took it and began chucking it down
He left again to get some supplies to help her. He moved closer to her and removed the scarf, he cut the dress around the wound so he could have better access to the bullet
"Here" he said and gave her a white cloth to bite on.
She put it in her mouth and he started trying to take the bullet out. She groaned and bit harder on the cloth
He managed to get the bullet out with some difficulty and poured some alcohol on the wound and she moved back slightly but he held her in place
"Relax for me. It's almost done" he said as he looked into her eyes
He took out a lighter and burned the wound. Ace winced and felt her vision go blurry and before she knew it, she lost consciousness

When Ace woke up next, she found herself on a huge bed with comfy clothes on. It's already morning, she wasn't supposed to stay out so long
She touched her face in panic to find the mask still in place and she sighed in relive
She looked around and saw shadow sleeping on a couch with his back facing her
"Shadow!" She called out and he tensed and put something on his face
"What is it?" He asked in his morning voice
"I need to leave" she said
"Why do you need to wake me up for that?!" He asked in annoyance.
"I had a doctor check on you. Your wound has already been wrapped with waterproof bandage" he said as he headed out
He came back with a hoodie and a sweat pants. He threw them on the bed
"Take a shower and come downstairs" he instructed and gave me a black bandana
"Thanks" she said and he gave a curt nod before leaving the room
Gabriella's pov-
I showered with alot of difficulty and put on shadow's clothes. It was big but comfy, it smelt really nice. I put on the bandana and pulled up the hood so my face was entirely covered
I left the room and heard some noise coming from what I assume is the kitchen. I walked in and saw shadow cooking, his muscles flexed as he flipped the pan
"Done checking me out sweetheart?" He asked as he passed me a plate
"Oh shut up" I said with an eye roll
I took a bite and had to stop myself from moaning. The flavors just burst in my mouth. How can such an annoying and overbearing guy have such skills?
"I know you like it" he said as he kept his intense gaze on me. My face heated up and I thank God at the moment for the bandana covering my face
I shrugged and quickly finished up knowing the problems that are waiting for me at home. Why can't I stay out of trouble?
"I gotta go thanks again" I said and calmly walked out of the house even though my heart was raising
What excuse can I give now?
How long can I hide who I truly am from them?
I know it's only a matter of time till they find out
