EPILOGUE

I heard a lot of people talking about how the ages 16 to 23 aren't easy. You lose friends, make mistakes, fall, fail, realize things, hit reality, lose yourself, but in the end, you find yourself and become stronger - still the best years of your life.

And that's true. A fact. Because I've been there. I've experienced all of that. I also lost a friend when Keirstine and I had a falling out over a guy named Blue. I don't know why we ended up in such a situation where a friend became an enemy because of a guy - it's not something I dreamed of. But that's how it is; when it comes to 'love,' you're willing to risk everything, even if it means hurting someone.

In the end, we became friends again because all you need to do is accept. Acceptance is the key. If you can accept everything, you prove to yourself that you're brave. Keirstine did that; she accepted everything and found out who was meant for her - Ian. Diba ang liit ng mundo? You never know that the one meant for you might be just around, but you're too busy chasing someone who isn't meant for you.

We make mistakes, and we're still making mistakes because through those mistakes, we learn. I made a big mistake by keeping a secret from Blue that I was Ezekiel's real girlfriend. I think that's the biggest mistake I ever made. I kept a secret from him, a secret he would never forgive me for once he found out. And he did find out, and that's where I regretted because I kept that thing from him even though I knew from the beginning that he would eventually know everything, and I was sure he would be angry with me. The mistake I don't want to repeat. I'm his partner, and partners should be honest with each other, shouldn't keep secrets. And I failed that. But from those mistakes, I learned. I learned a lot. One of those is how important a person's 'trust' is. Once it's broken, it's unlikely to be restored. I felt how disappointed Blue was with me, and I can't blame him because the saddest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies, it comes from those you love the most. He trusted me, but I wasted that.

Due to the problems I encountered, I learned a lot. Even if I stumbled, I stood up again. I realized many wrong decisions I made, wrong things I pursued. Reality hit me to the point where I had a breakdown because I couldn't handle what was happening in my life. I lost myself because of my actions. But you know, God is very good to me. He never left me. When I was on my dark path, He was still there, walking with me. He served as the light when all I could see was just plain black.

The biggest thing the Lord gave me, which I'll be forever grateful for, is when He saved my man from death. Yes, I'm very thankful to the Lord because He brought back to me the man I love. The man I thought would leave me. I lost hope when Blue was 50/50. I was devastated, hopeless. If not for my family and friends, I might have ended my life. Luckily, they became instruments kay Lord para panatagin ang loob ko.

Especially Ezekiel. He became my pillar when I was lost. When I had nowhere to run. He was always there to guide me. I know the Lord gave him to me so I wouldn't lose my way. And I'm thankful for that. Despite what I did to him and the challenges we faced, he's still by my side. He didn't leave even though I knew he was hurting. Sometimes, we wonder why the world is so unfair. The person who loves truly is the one who often gets hurt. Isn't that so unfair? Well, I guess that's life. Life is a gamble. You have to take risks to know if you'll win or lose. Hindi naman sa lahat ng oras ay talo ka. There are times na mananalo ka rin. In the right time.

"Hey, you're lost in thought. Is everything okay?"

I looked back as someone hugged me from behind and kissed my hair. I smiled when I saw who it was - my husband.

I shook my head, "Nah, I'm just reminiscing about the past. You know, everything that happened in our lives and the challenges we overcame. It's just heartwarming that we're together now."

I felt Blue take a deep breath, "Yeah," he said while still hugging me from behind.

I untangled myself from his hug and faced him, "You know, I'm happy that I'm with you now. I don't know how to thank the Lord for what He did for me - for us. Blue, I love you so much. And I can't bear to lose you again."

Blue sighed, "Hey, why are you crying? Shhh! Stop crying. It's already in the past. Stop thinking about the bad things; just reminisce about the time when we were madly in love. Okay? You're being emotional again. Come here."

He hugged me tightly, and I winced as I teased him, "Love, I'm just kidding." But Blue didn't seem to mind, continuing to comfort me.

Later that night, as we shared a moment on our terrace, Blue surprised me with his humor. I couldn't help but notice how handsome he was, and his laughter echoed. "What's so funny about what I said?" I asked.

To my surprise, he leaned in and whispered, "While you're saying those words, you're so cute, and I can't help..." he leaned even closer, his lips almost touching mine, "not to kiss you."

He kissed me, and I responded playfully, not realizing that the playful moment would escalate into a more intimate setting. I stopped him, "Blue, wait," I said.

"Love, naman e. What's wrong?" he asked, looking a bit disappointed.

I patted his arm, "You might have forgotten, but you have a meeting at 7 pm," I reminded him.

He raised an eyebrow, still looking at me, "So what?"

I lightly slapped his arm, "Anong 'so what'? Those are your clients; you might be late."

Without hesitation, he kissed me again, saying, "Then, we'll do this quickly, love."

***

Several hours later, I found myself waking up and feeling nauseous. I checked the clock - it was 10 pm, and Blue wasn't home yet. I rushed to the bathroom, and that's when it hit me. I hadn't had my period for three weeks, and my recent mood swings and cravings suddenly made sense.

It's been a year na din kasi kaming magkasama ni Blue pero hin ndi pa rin nakakabuo, baka ito na 'yon. Sanaaaaaaa!

I grabbed a pregnancy test, and my suspicions were confirmed - two red lines. I am pregnant. Overwhelmed with emotions, I couldn't wait to share the news with Blue.

"Love? You still awake? Love, I'm home," I heard Blue's voice from downstairs.

Excitement surged through me as I ran downstairs and hugged him, tears streaming down my face. "Blueeeee!" I couldn't contain my joy.

He turned to me in surprise, "Oh? Why are you crying again, huh? Did something happen to you? Sorry, I just got home, and there's-"

I cut him off, "Blue, I'm pregnant."

He suddenly tightened his embrace on me, staring at me intensely, trying to read my eyes to confirm if he heard correctly.

"Wait, what did you say? Y-you-you're w-what?" he stammered.

I smiled at him and showed him the pregnancy test result. Blue's hands trembled as he held the PT in my hands, examining it closely. His gaze kept shifting between the PT and me.

"Oh, God! Is this really true?" he asked again.

I chuckled while nodding. He sat down, propping his elbows on his knees, and I was surprised to see his shoulders shaking.

I sat beside him, "You're going to be a dad, Blue."

His shoulders shook even more. I took his hands, which were covering his face, and that's when I saw tears filling his eyes.

"Fvck! I've been praying for this, Scarlet. And, shit! It's coming true. I'm going to be a dad soon. I love you!" he said, immediately embracing me tightly.

I couldn't help but shed tears as he hugged me, and I gently stroked his back.

"We're going to be a family, complete, kasama ang magiging anak natin," I whispered.

He loosened the hug, "I'm so lucky that I met a bitter like you," and he smiled. Damn! Ang gwapo talaga ng asawa ko! I can't get tired of looking at him. <3

"Sira!" tumawa siya pero bigla din naman sumeryoso.

"I love you, Mrs. Macwill," he said.

I cupped his face, "I love you, too, Mr. Macwill."

He smiled and looked at my stomach. I didn't expect what he did next. He kissed my tummy and whispered, "Can't wait to see you, baby. I love you."

I smiled at his words as he kissed my tummy again, then gave me a smack on my lips, and, of course, his favorite move - a kiss on my forehead.

He looked at me with those black eyes that made me fall in love with him even more.

And I can't forget this line coming from him while looking directly into my eyes,

"Every love story is beautiful, but OURS is my favorite."

THE END.
