Danny groaned as he biked down the trail. It had gotten way easier to do this now, even though he's only been training for a few days.
On his way to the next gym, he's fought a whooping total of 9 trainers, and dozens of Pokémon. He didn't think the way would be so populated with Pokémon and strong trainers, but none the less he and his Totodile defeated them all the same.
Sadly, the hair dye wasn't any of the temporary stuff, meaning who ever did it had put some sort of chemical in his hair to make it consistently spikey and even died it with actual hair dye. He didn't even know what they did to his nail to make them black.
Soon they were in the next city, a step even closer to finally achieving his and his friend's life long dream of becoming the best trainers.. but the longer he does this, the more he feels like something is wrong... it hurts at night.

Suddenly he felt a tug at his leg, his Totodile looking up at him with an almost worried expression.
Danny: "I-I'm okay Todo." he said, forcing smile, "Let's just start training."

Danny, let out a small sigh as he saw the state of his Totodile. It was hurt, badly. Most of the Pokémon in the area were electric types, meaning that most of their moves were super effective against Totodile.
Danny then let out another sigh before he crouched down in front of his Totodile.
Danny: "Todo," he said, "I don't.. I don't think well be able to do this with just the two of us."
Totodile then gave what Danny guessed was a shocked look.
Danny: " I know that you wanted to conquer the gyms with just the two of us, but I don't think it's possible. The Gym is primarily electric type Pokémon, much stronger than the ones were fighting out here.. why don't we get some other-" he started before he felt Totodile bite down on his hand, a searing white pain goin threw his body before he stumbled backward looking at Totodile as it glared at him, tears flooding its eyes.
Totodile: "Sh-u- U-p" he heard, " I-er, Li-L er!" it screamed before it ran off into the forest.
Danny looked at Totodile as they ran away, shock covering his face as Totodile words, or what it could muster, played over and over again in his head. However, the shock from hearing his Pokémon's voice quickly died down when he realized that Totodile had ran away.
Danny: "T-Totodile!" he yelled, almost jumping off the ground, not even noticing the pain from his almost shredded hand, "I-I'm sorry, please come back!" he begged, running after the Pokémon.

Totodile panted as it ran through the forest, tears flowing out of it's eyes as it continued to attack electric type Pokémon, anger building in it's heart as it ruthlessly defeated them one after another. Ice Fang, Crunch, Water-Gun, Mud-Slap, Ice Fang, Crunch, Water-Gun, Mud-Slap, Crunch, Crunch, Crunch, Crunch, Crunch.
It could feel its self growing stronger and stronger, but it knew deep down that it wasn't enough.. nowhere near enough to prove to Danny that it could take on any gym it wanted without the help of any other Pokémon. So if fought more and more, Biting, tearing, attacking doing what ever it could before it was finally hit with an electric attack. A powerful electric attack.
It sent them flying into a tree, causing extreme damage before it gritted its teeth and turned to the Pokémon that had attacked it. It was a giant Pokémon, an Electivire, with angry look as it glared at Totodile.
Totodile was angry, even angrier than it was before. This was the wall that Danny was talking about, the electric Pokémon that it would need to defeat before it was able to take on the world with Danny. It was more than ready to go against this Pokémon, to win and show Danny that they were strong.. before it sent out Thunder Bolt faster than Totodile could react. It came quick and fast, almost faster than Danny who had thrown himself in front of it to protect them.
Totodile then looked down at Danny, their jaw wide open as their eyes looked over Danny's charred body. Unmoving and lifeless as it gave off a disgusting stench that resembled burnt hair and flesh. It had killed Danny. The Pokémon had killed Danny, shocking his body without a second thought and killing him in cold blood.
Totodile had done this to Danny.. and it knew it. He could see the bite mark that he had inflicted on Danny, the first mortal wound that was on his body that it had created.. they hated it.. it hurt to see it made it hate its self so much.. but it was the Pokémon in front of it that had delt the killing blow. Just then, everything went dark.

Danny let out a groan as he felt water dripping onto his face. His eyes then fluttered open as he was met with the canopy of the forest. He didn't know where he was, and everything hurt along with a tingling feeling that he felt all through out his body.
He then sat up, groaning again before he looked around. Everything was covered in water, completely soaked down to the roots despite it being broad daylight. He then looked to his side and saw Totodile, extremely hurt and lying down beside him.
Danny: "Let's get to a Pokécenter." he said, picking up his Totodile, "You look terrible."

Nurse Joy let out a small sigh. The day had been really slow, that alone being a good thing, but she still wanted something to do other then prep medical supplies, which she had already done. She then let out another sigh, playing with her hair before she heard the doors open once again.
Nurse Joy: "Hello and welco-" she started before she looked up and saw the gruesome sight before her.
The boy was smoking, literately. Chucks of his skin seemed charred along with his eyes being blood shot and bleeding from them, this was only a part of it considering his arm had a giant gash in it that gave off a cooked flesh smell.
Danny: "H-Hello." he said, giving a smile that showed a bloody smile, "Could you p-please heal my Totodile?" he asked, holding out his battered Pokémon, "A-and m-me t-to.." he said before he collapsed on the ground.
Not even a moment passed before Nurse Joy slammed her hand on a button behind the desk, sirens blaring before her Pokémon, a Chansey, came barreling through the backroom doors with a stretcher. Nurse Joy then hopped over the counter and dashed to the tow injured patients. picking them both off of the ground and onto the stretcher before pushing them into the emergency room.
Nurse Joy: "Of course this happens when I want something interesting to happen." she muttered, a look of immense worry on her face as she continued to observe the state of the boy and his Pokémon, "How the hell am I gonna fix this."

Danny let out a pained groan as he looked around the room he was in. It was unfamiliar, the smell of sterile bandages and bedding filled the white room. As he laid in the bed, only one thought crossed his mind.
Danny: 'Where is Totodile.' he thought as he sat up.
Suddenly he heard the door to the room open, the sound of a gasp filling his ears before the person moved to his side.
Nurse Joy: "P-Please lay back down sir." she said, easing him back down on the bed.
Danny: "W-Where is Todo." he muttered, his voice coming out almost gravely.
Nurse Joy: "Your Pokémon is fine." she said, "They healed much quicker than you did, but you healed pretty quickly as well."
Danny: "H-How long has it been," he said, his voice slowly returning to normal the more he spoke.
Nurse Joy: "It's been about a week." she said, "I thought I was going to have to call a professional but after the first few days I saw that you were healing pretty quickly. Though the scars on you doesn't seem to be fading sadly."
Danny: "S-Scars?" he said, sitting back up before he looked at his arms, they were still bandaged so he couldn't see much but from what he could he noticed the his skin was a few shades darker and random jagged lines ran through out his skin.
Nurse Joy: "It's okay," she said, putting a hand on his shoulder, " Your healing much better than what we thought you were, you'll be able to go in the next few weeks, maybe even days if you continue to heal at the rate you are." she smiled, "But for now your going to need more rest, you'll need your energy." she said before she walked toward the door, "If you need anything, just ask. The buzzer on the wall will call me."
Danny: "A-Actually," he said, causing nurse joy to look back at him, "Could you bring me Totodile, and my Pokédex please?"
Nurse Joy then let out a small chuckle.
Nurse Joy: "A trainer to the very end," she muttered, "Sure, just give me a moment." she said leaving the room.

Danny: "Chaotic?" he muttered, looking at the Pokédex, "And what move is Deep Sea.. or at least that's what it looks like." he said, quirking his head to the side before letting out a sigh and tossing the Pokédex to the side, "Well, your a lot stronger now," he said in a happy tone, "You even learned some new moves but you haven't evolved yet." he said as he patted Totodile, "Well, you are a new species of Totodile, maybe you evolve a little differently then other Totodiles."
Totodile then snapped its jaws, causing Danny to let out a chuckle.
Danny: "Well, I guess your right." he said, "You are very special, in your own way.." he said before he felt something welling up in his throat, his voice feeling blocked before he sighed, "I'm sorry Todo." he said, " I shouldn't have said that.. Your strong, very strong and I shouldn't doubt you because you got hurt by a few Pokémon."
Totodile the looked up at Danny before snapping its maw.
Danny: "N-no it's not you fau-" he tried before Totodile snapped its maw again, "That was a reasonable response to-" he retorted before Totodile snapped again, "You didn't almost kill me it was the Pokémon that-" Totodile then snapped its jaw one final time before Danny let out a sigh, "Fine," he sighed, "But I forgive you, I understand why you were mad and you even proved me wrong. Your definitely strong enough to take on the gym leader."
Totodile the paused for a moment before it stuck its nose up in the air with a valiant stance, causing Danny to let out another laugh.
Danny: "I love you buddy," he said, giving his Totodile a hug, the Pokémon then reciprocating by wrapping itself around his body.
. . .-Few Days Later-. . .
Nurse Joy: "Are you sure your fine?" she asked, looking over Danny. Virtually he looked fine, aside from the few spots still covered and bandages and the scars that cover him, he felt like he was finally ready to take on the gym.
Danny: "Yep!" he said enthusiastically, "I'm ready to take on the gym, and continue my Pokémon journey."
Nurse Joy then let out another sigh.
Nurse Joy: "Fine," she said, "Just.. be careful okay? Pokémon are dangerous if you don't know how to handle them. Keep your distance in battle and don't jump in, even if your Pokémon is getting hurt. One of you have to make it back at the very least so both of you can be safe."
Danny: "Okay," he sighed, "I'll be safe, I promise." he said as he walked out of the Pokécenter, "Thanks for everything!" he said as the doors closer behind them."
Nurse Joy watched as they left, a worried look still on her face.
Nurse Joy: "Is it me, or are you getting a bad feeling." she asked, before the Chansey answered, "Yeah, I thought so too.. I just hope it isn't as bad as it was this time.. or worse."
