Today we are supposed to have P.E class, while I'm not particularly interested in the class per say, everyone else is extremely hyped up for it. I think I'll do well, just to improve my reputation a bit. Yesterday after that girl bumped into me and left her papers I visited the staff room to drop them off so that they could handle it.
『"What am I meant to do with these papers Sajou-kun? ~sigh~"
"I don't know the girl who dropped it so It's not like I can return it."
"Can you atleast describe the girl?"
"While I didn't see her well, she was short with brown hair tied by a red ribbon."』
I've also been looking at jobs in my area and found a rather interesting one... apparently some girl is looking for someone to watch after her twins during afternoons from 2-7 pm. It's not a bad option but I'm not too sure if I want to look after children. I'll think more about it later.

"Whatcha think about Sajou-chi~? Are you having pervy thoughts about Ai-chi again?"
"~sigh~ How many times do I have to tell you I'm not interested in her Ashida."
"I was thinking about a girl I bumped into yesterday."
"You mean like a fateful encounter!?"
"Nah, if anything it would be the opposite since she just ran off before I could apologise."
"Ara~ I didn't know you were so pervy you scare away girls Sajou-chi~."
"Cut it out Ashida, she probably just has social anxiety or something."
"Blehh, you're no fun y'know that. Bein all logical and shit Sajou no baka"
"Hai hai, I apologise princess Ashida, I shall try to be more entertaining next time."
"Ew.. don't do that again it's creepy... especially with that monotone."
I clutch my heart in theatrics "Your words cut deeper than the sharpest swords Ashida."
"I'd be more inclined to believe you if you changed your expression..."
"... nah that's impossible."

Lunch break is always a highlighted part of my day, recently I've been trying out different dishes I never got to taste due to.. circumstances. I was currently walking to the cafeteria to try one such dish. I believe it was called "Gyudon", a traditional Japanese dish made by simmering thinly sliced beef with onions in a sweet and savory broth made with soy sauce, mirin, and sake.
The beef and onions are then served over a bowl of steamed rice, and garnished with green onions and pickled ginger.
"Seems I won't be able to get a seat." I mutter as by the time I place my order the seats in the cafeteria were filled.
"You may sit with me if you like."
"Hmm? Oh thank you Shinomiya-senpai."
Rin Shinomiya, medium length black hair tied into a ponytail and a serious expression. She is the chairman of the School's Disciplinary Committee and is popular with both men and women because of her cool behaviour and neat appearance.
"Ara, I'm surprised you know me."
"I don't think there's anyone on campus that doesn't to be honest."
"It seems my reputation precedes me... by the way, I take it you're the one to thank for scaring away my cute little junior?"
"Ah, the short one? I didn't mean to scare her off, I simply bumped into her by accident. I do apologise though."
"Quite the formal one aren't you? No need to apologise though, If anything your actions were admirable, thank you for delivering the papers to the staff room for us."
"Pardon, why do you say I shouldn't apologise? Didn't you say I scared her off?"
"Don't be so pessimistic. She took that attitude because she wasn't good with men."
"Senpai, logically speaking, even if it was another female student who was carrying that kind of thing at that place at that time, they would have had the same reaction. In a place that barely has people around, an encounter with a stranger boy will mostly end like that."
"I didn't take you for a realist..."
"I'm merely stating an observation. I'm sure anyone else could do the same... well anyway thank you for allowing me to sit here but I'll be going now."
Shinomiya-senpai, who always pushed toward her ideals, could easily gain the courage to shake off the men around her. As such senpai would not be able to sympathise with the scene between me and that girl. In the first place, I don't think senpai would even have trouble holding something that heavy.. considering her athletic build.
"No, no, wait a moment!"
"Do you perhaps need something senpai?" I say tilting my head slightly to the right.
The cool beauty of the school desperately detained me by grabbing my hand.
"I... I have something I want to ask"
"Hmmm..:"
"Lead the way I suppose."

The inside of the student guidance room is just enough to have a long desk for four people. In such a small room, alone with the beautiful Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee...... any other may jump for joy; however, I can only see this as troublesome.
"That child you bumped into.... her name was Yuyu Inatomi..."
I've heard about her before. I'm sure she is a senior member of the Disciplinary Committee. I've heard rumours that she's small and cute. It's no wonder she's paid special attention from Shinomiya-senpai.
"She's a very hard working girl. She's always done the job she's been asked to do, and she has pride as a disciplinary committee member. If I think about it, even the other members were also like that."
"I see."
"But sometimes they lose their confidence and say some pessimistic things. Anytime they're like that, I always try to encourage them.. but some say that they lose confidence when they see me."
"Even me, who's still a freshman, has seen you stand on the stage several times. You have many achievements and maintain order in the school... so, it's no wonder that there's people who will lose their confidence when shown such a dazzling figure, right?"
"Wa,wait a moment... Don't suddenly praise me straight in front of my face. It'll only make me feel embarrassed..."
"You're missing my point."
"'You can't understand my feelings.', have Inatomi-senpai and the others ever said that to you?"
"Mmm... that's right, they've said that before."
"..."
"Shinomiya-senpai, excuse my rudeness but have you ever not been praised?"
"What are you talking about?"
"For someone like you who has outstanding skills and always receives praise. Giving someone with lesser skills encouragement and suggestions applies pressure onto them."
"When you do something like that it makes them feel inclined to meet your expectations. I'm not saying you have large expectations of them or anything, but, to them they'd feel like they don't want to disappoint their super-senpai."
"....I...I see. So what do you suggest I do instead?"
"It's quite simple isn't it? 'Don't think about it, you'll be fine.' Saying those simple words while giving them a pat on the shoulder."
"Who wouldn't like a pat on the back from their superior while telling them to take it easy?"
I see her face light up in recognition of my words, a bright smile smeared across her face.
"I see! Thank you.. um... what was your name again?"
"Wataru Sajou."
"Noted. Thank you very much Sajou-kun!"
"I didn't do anything, but I suppose you're welcome."

As the blistering heat subsided the sky was dyed a bright merigold, practically clear of clouds. Leaving for a picturesque view one may see inside a famous painting. I was currently enjoying the view on my walk towards home whilst enjoying my vanilla ice cream to cool off from the heat.
".....Wataru?"
A female voice called my name as I stood up near my house.
"Kaede? What about the cram school?"
"I'm not in the mood for that today."
Whenever Kaede was in a bad mood she tended to treat me as she pleased, whilst it is annoying I still can't help but feel some warmth with our banter.
'Is this perhaps what familial love is like?'
Kaede was currently blowing a steamed meat bun as she sat sprawled on the couch almost like a dead victorian plague victim.
"Oi, You... Did you talk to that girl after that happened?"
"..."
She most likely means Natsukawa. Though I don't understand why any interaction between me and Natsukawa should matter to her.
"If you listened to the conversation at that time, you would understand without me saying, right?"
"......"
That day, I remember my sister and mother's reaction after Natsukawa left. Since all of them are women, and the way both of them react to the love affair was not odd. I can't forget their stunned faces when I explained that I wasn't interested in her and I used to have a crush on her before.
I waited for the usual swearing, but my sister didn't say anything and just went on silently.

Author note: Who do y'all think should be the main ship for this fic? Also I added babysitting as a job option for if you guys want to add oshi no ko to the world. Of course I didn't make him choose instantly so it's up to y'all whether you want it included or not since it was just a whim. Could be a reference. Anyways please help me fix any errors and drop suggestions in comments.
