" [y/n]?" You hear the worry in Gojo's tone.
" I'm sorry" you fix your crumbling appearance. You tried to move pass the tall figure until he caught your hand
He refused to let go when you tried to move away, " what's wrong?" Gojo pulled you closer to him.
" is Suguru...dead?" Your voice so easily shattered like glass
Gojo inhales a sharp breath. He didn't know how to approach the situation. His glasses failed to hide his vulnerability.
Admitting the harsh truth. It was less harder than lying to comfort yourself.
" answer me" your voice was hoarse, firm but not enough to attract the attention of the restaurant
" he is.." Gojo's final words make your heart break. With this revelation, Gojo unlocks your hand from his. A step back was taken to make you realise how naive you are
" I'm going back to my house" you back away even more, building momentum
Gojo feels hopeless, useless even. What if Suguru's death made you turn into him? What if instead of hating humans you end up hating jujutsu sorcerers?
Gojo thinks quickly, his hand returning to your wrist again. " wait please..I'll take you home" Gojo's voice did not sound like a request
" I need some time to process this" you didn't need any explanations. You didn't need the reason behind his death, you just wanted to bottle up your emotions all over again
You were unaware of Suguru's motives which led to his ultimate demise and Gojo was willing to explain it to you, even if he himself couldn't understand it.
" I don't want you to suffer in silence. Let me take you home, let me—- Let me stay with you please" Gojo begged, begged like you were going to disappear again.
He didn't want to go through that again.
Tears were in the corner of your eyes. You didn't think you had that humanity left in you. It weakened you. " okay" you didn't want to run away
Gojo nods silently, not caring about anything but you. Leading you out the restaurant, Shoko stands at the entrance, watching you two leave
Maybe Gojo was the right solution. Not her, not anymore.
| FLASHBACK
" really? And you have to consume it everytime!?!" You were up right in your seat. You were shocked at the man's endurance
" not really...yet it's still repetitive and tiring" Geto sounded serious, his eyes narrowing while he rubbed his neck.
" I'm sorry" you murmur. Geto's eyes glanced to you, " why? You have nothing to be sorry for" Geto's hand grazed yours
" it's just...eating something disgusting over and over again can be tiring. It can make you go crazy" your voice sounded unserious to Geto's soft chuckling
" well if there's ever something that can filter the taste, I'll let you know" you gently reach out to pat Geto's shoulder. Geto knew that such things were rare, maybe even impossible to find.
" thank you..really" Geto was grateful for your thoughtfulness .
" no worries." you reply. Geto thought for a moment before staring at you again, " do you think I'm going crazy?" Geto's question caught you off guard. Your head turns to him confusingly
" crazy!? If anyone is going crazy it's Gojo" you share your opinion. Geto's lips make a soft smile, " I'm no different from him you know"
" what do you mean?" Your eyebrows knitted together
" the more you know me, the more you'll understand" Geto smiled. You didn't get him now and you don't think you'll ever get what he meant

" so...I killed him" you understood Gojo's long tale on your friends death. It made sense, his downfall.
It also made you feel guilt. Was it your doing? Did you leaving really affect him? How childish. You wanted to be like your younger self, blaming people for everything. Not this time, you had no one to blame but yourself.
" I'm sorry. It's my fault" Gojo's hands enveloped together after resting his glasses on the coffee table
" your fault? It's my fault. Everything is" you correct. Gojo looks up, his face differing from all the facial expressions he had expressed before you came back. He was genuinely frowning.
" don't say that." Gojo's tone was serious
" back then I blamed you for everything. Everything that went wrong in my life I took it out on you. I yelled at you." You were equally guilty
" I...never considered your emotions" you stand up, kneeling down upon reaching Gojo. " you've must of been suffering so much." Your hands graze his cheek
Gojo was shocked, no one ever asked him how he was going, only Shoko briefly noticed. " he was your friend too and I'm sorry you had to go through that" you made Gojo vulnerable
All this time he didn't allow himself to cry, yet in your hands again, his eyes watered. Sharing a sympathetic smile you slowly hug Gojo
Gojo hugs you tightly. There was only ever two times you've seen him cry, genuinely cry.
One was your departure and the second time was now. Warm water soaked into your shoulder, giving you the strength to squeeze him tightly
" let me stay with you. I've already neglected someone once" Gojo's voice was soft yet demanding
You loosen the hug. Your mind thought of the girl he was with before. Why did it have to make you think of it right now?
" okay. You can stay" you hide your facade
| NEXT DAY
Your hands rub the strands of your damp hair. You just finished showering and realise Gojo was still asleep. Your mind drifts to the night before
Placing the towel down, you walk over to Gojo's sleeping figure. He is expressionless yet his face seems somewhat distressed
You couldn't help but place a hand over Gojo's face, that was your plan before a hand instinctively grabbed yours
" [y/n]?" Gojo's voice was deep and groggy when his eyes stirred awake
" sorry just wanted to check if your forehead was hot" you explain yourself. Gojo seems unfazed, slowly collecting his thoughts
' I had my infinity on' Gojo was sure of it.
There was only ever two times you bypassed his infinity including now. One time when you experienced heartbreak and now.
" something wrong?" Your words interrupt his train of thoughts. Gojo hoisted himself upwards, " it's nothing" he tries to put on a plain smile
He stares into your beautiful eyes. Like he was drowning in them, it dawns on him that your eyebags seemed sore and puffed
Had you cried just this morning? Gojo's hands moved by itself, his fingers stroked your eye bags
" you okay?" He begs to differ. You realise he knows and a light laugh escapes your lips. " I couldn't help but have a nightmare. Then I cried more in the morning" you sounded so cool about it
" I'm fine now" you slowly cup Gojo's hands. You bring his hand down to your sides. " I have something to confess"
You tilt your head, ready to listen to what Gojo had to say. There's a visible hesitation in Gojo's voice. " I.. I still-"
'I still love you.'
—- " I'm.. actually late" Gojo fixed his sentence, nervousness getting the better of him. Those four words never escaped his lips. You realise his words and check the time
" oh crap I'm so sorry!" You move out the way so Gojo had the capacity to sit up
" it's okay. My students will be fine" Gojo brushed off. " I'm not so sure about that" you express, cleaning the area beside Gojo
" how's your job finding" Gojo stood up while stretching. " I never told you about that" you pause, looking up to Gojo
Crap. Gojo was caught red handed. " Shoko told me" Gojo was awkward, rubbing his neck.
" oh" you copy Gojo's actions. " I asked her" Gojo took the blame. " it's alright Gojo, I don't mind" you dismiss as quickly as possible
" let's just go"

" his a good kid" Gojo talks about his students to you. " I figured. I run into Yuta while he was on a mission" you announce
Gojo gulped nervously, " what did he say?" Gojo tried not to seem fazed
" he was talking about the promise ring" you figure. Gojo's steps slowed down when he registered he was close to the school
" the ring" Gojo repeats, the word scrolling off his tongue. His hands lingered only a few centimetres away from yours
So close. yet so far.
Your mouth wanted to say something before a chilling sensation ran down your spine. You couldn't see or hear it but something felt strange in the air.
" maybe it's just my paranoia but I feel like somethings off" you felt uneasy before looking back to Gojo
Gojo's brows were covered under his blindfold yet you could decipher it was furrowing. " no because I sense it too" Gojo felt a faint presence of a curse
" it's not human" Gojo murmured, placing a hand over you out of instinct
