Nunew quickly stood up dropping his book on the floor. All his friends looked at him, all confused on what's happening.
Nunew's feet immediately moved on its own and proceeded towards the door.
"HIA!"
Nunew exclaimed as he jumps to hug Zee.
Zee caught him and giggled
"Hi Nunu" Zee said softly as he hugs the younger one.
"See? Air, we're just like air. Invisible"
Tommy said as he walks around the two to get in
"Hi im tommy, head of finance and accounts" he said as he shakes James' hand who is still confused on what's happening.
Max then came next
"Im Max, VP of Suprasoleil"
Net then came in and when james saw him, he blushed like crazy
"Hi james, Im net. Head of sales and Marketing" Net smirked at James.
Net then glanced at the two who are still hugging.
"P'Zee, you've seen each other yesterday. He even bought you lunch. Stop acting like you didnt see each other for a whole year" Net teasingly told them.
He then turned to Nunew's friends who are still in a state of shock.
"Im guessing you didnt know?" Net asked them and they all shook their heads silently.
"You'll get used to them soon enough" Max chuckles
"They're always like this. Its as if everything else is invisible. Yet they still insist they're just best friends" Tommy told them.
Nu's gang then all stood up and grabbed Nunew after they finally separated.
"Excuse us for a bit" James told them.
"Take all the time you need, the boss cleared our schedule for Nunew" Net grinned at James
Them 5 friends then went out of the door and dragged Nunew to the next room
"WHAT THE HELL NUNEW!" Nat exclaimed
"Why didnt you tell us that your Mr. dream-come-true is THE Zee pruk panich?!" Yim told Nunew
"Have I not told you?! I thought I did!" Nunew told them
"No you didnt. Damn Nu!" James slap his arm.
"Are we still going ahead with this?" Tutor said
"Ofcourse we are! They are a very good reputable company, we're lucky to be collaborating with them" James said
"The only thing we have to consider is how this person right here would focus on work" Yim said
"Oh im not worried about that, i bet he would even be too eager to go to work, thats for sure" Nat said
"Im right here. I can hear all of you" Nunew said to them. His four friends looked at him pointedly.
"Wait Phi, you hired them without knowing who he is to me?" Nunew said to James
"Yeah. It was Net I talked to" James nodded
"Did you tell them that Im the author?" Nu asked again
"Yeah. Oh. That's why" James said
"That's why what?" Yim said
"That's why he immediately said yes and also said that his boss will be thrilled to hear about this. I thought he must just be a fan of Nunew" James said.
"More like a faen of Nunew" Tutor snickered earning him a slap from Nu.
"So that's why he keeps on telling me that he'll see me later" Nunew chuckled.
"We need to get back, Nunew control yourself. You're as giddy as a school boy"
Yim shakes his head at Nunew
They all went back and Nunew immediately took the seat next to Zee.
His friends just shake their heads at him.
"Did you tell him to act cool like what we told Zee?" Max said
"Yep, you too? Nat replied
"Yeah that's not going to work with them" Max said again
Zee then handed Nunew a cup.
Nunew looked at Zee questioningly
"Your Vanilla Latte" Zee said as he grinned.
Nunew beamed at him
"Thanks hia" he smiled widely
Nunew then looked at the others. He noticed that Jimmy is missing.
"You brought the gang with you but P'Jimmy is missing" Nunew said.
"He's on a personnel meeting at the moment with the US team. That's the only time we could i fit it in so he opted to stay. He asked me to say Hi to you though" Zee smiled sweetly at Nunew. He felt touched that he cares about his friends too.
Nunew nodded, he pulled Zee's chair closer to him and leaned his shoulder into Zee's as he sips his drink.
The rest of their friends just sighed and shake their heads.
"Anyway for everybody else's sanity, we bought pastries. We are not as good as Nunew in guessing your choice of coffee so we bought these instead" Net told them
"How do you get used to them?" James asked as he looks at the two chatting happily as if they are the only ones in the room.
"You dont, you just learn to appreciate the beauty if it" Tommy smirks.
"Wow, what a romantic you are phi" Net teases Tommy who just shrugged his shoulders
"When will they realize though?" Nat asked
"That is something we have to wait and see" Max said.
"I hope not too long though, i might be diabetic at the end of this" Yim said as he shakes his head
After a while, they managed to get Zee and Nunew's attention and started the meeting.
Zee proposed the idea doing QR sticker that they could stick at the back of the book. The reader could scan it and see a short animated movie of the synopsis as well as reading it.
He also suggested an interactive glass panels that could show the setting of the book during the book signing so the readers could see the environment Nunew envisioned the novel to take place.
Nunew is liking the idea of it. He likes the idea of incorporating other mediums to facilitate the book's story telling. He is just concerned that the focus of the readers will be on the media side of it and not on the book.
"That's why we would not be giving them the whole story of the book. You can choose a part where you think it would catch the eye of the reader and then leave them hanging" Zee said.
"Oh that's cruel" Tutor chuckled
"Cruel but effective. Because they would want to know more. To know what's gonna happen next. And before they know it, they are already hooked in the story." Max told them as they all nodded.
"Who would do it though? Are we hiring animators? Wouldnt that just cost too much?" Nunew asked, he's worried that the budget of his friend's company would be blown out of proportion.
"Oh dont worry about that. We already have an animator. And im sure he wouldnt charge you anything" Tommy said as he grins
"He may ask a bit of your time here and there though. Maybe some hugs or sniff kisses every now and then" Net blurted out as he sees Zee it biting his knuckle
"Huh?!" Nunew looked confused.
"It's Me. Im in charge of your animations if you agree to this plan" Zee said
"You? But.... you do animations too?!" Nunew surprisingly asked
"Zee has a minor degree in animation and design. Oh and a minor degree in photography too. " Max said to Nunew
"Wow, were you that bored at school?" Nunew chuckled at Zee.
He then see close his eyes and furrowed his eyebrows. His grip on the arm of the chair tightened and he bit his lip.
Nunew stood up and lifted Zee's chin so he's looking up.
"Dont bite your lip, it will bleed" Nunew tells Zee as he starts putting pressure on Zee's head. He was massaging it softly until Zee's forehead relaxed.
"What's happening now?" James asked
"P'Zee has this headaches whenever he would get a flashback of a memory. His head would feel like its splitting open before he sees a vision and then relax almost straight after. Nunew is the only one who could touch him without him snapping at them when it happens" Net explained
"And this has been going on since they were separated?!" Nat asked.
"Pretty much. Its better now. Zee no longer takes shit tons of pain killers for it. He used to eat paracetamol like crazy." Max said to them as they watch the two.
A small smile then appeared in Zee's face. He opened his eyes and they meet Nunew's big brown ones.
"Hi"
He said to Nu.
"Hi"
Nunew replied with a small smile.
Nunew then sat back down and Zee cutely put his head on Nunew's shoulder to rest.
"Was it good or bad?" Nunew asked
"Good" Zee smiled.
"Share it now? Or later?" Nunew asked again.
Zee looked around and saw that their friends are looking at him.
Might as well tell them, they are bound to ask anyway
Zee said to himself.
"I now know the reason why i had the urge to take up animation and design when I was at Uni even though i wasnt really as interested as I should be." Zee said as Nunew looked at him
"When you were little, you loved watching cartoons. But then you would cry when the story did go they way you wanted it to go. You loved stories with pictures but would complain that they are not moving or talking. So I said to myself that I would make you your own cartoons based on the story you want to watch or tell"
Zee then raised his head and looked at Nunew. He smiled softly as he gives him a gentle look.
"And now I am unconsciouly fulfilling that promise." Zee said to Nu. He saw Nu's face brighten up like the sky in the morning.
"Thank you Hia" Nunew tells Zee as he reaches for Zee's hand and held it.
"That's it then. That's agreement done. How can you say no to that?!" Yim exclaimed making the rest of them chuckle.
"It's actually quite lovely to see them like this." Tutor said
"Right?! They look so cute together." Tommy said to him.
"The big question is will they just stay like this?" James asked
"Shall we make sure they are not?" Net smirked at James with a glint in his eyes.
Nunew is sprawled on Zee's bedroom as he waits for Zee. Zee wanted the to have dinner together but his meeting is running very late. So Nunew told him that he will just go to his flat so he can wait for him there and Zee can just order a take away from the restaurant. Nunew has his own key anyway so he can go in and out as he pleases
Nunew was busy reading his book as he comfortably lie down on the bed. He was enjoying his book and didnt notice that Zee is already home. He was playing music on his phone as he reads so he didnt really hear Zee come in.
Zee arrived at home and he didnt see Nunew in the living room but he can hear music from the bedroom. He placed the food at the kitchen counter and proceeded to go to the bedroom. The door was open so he silently peeked and see Nunew on his bed happily reading.
He leaned against the door as he watches his dear friend read a book. He smiles as Nunew hums to the music.
He shakes his head. Nunew can really get lost in a book and dont care about the world. He finds it cute that Nu is very easily pleased, that he finds happiness in the smallest things.
Zee looked at him a bit more before deciding to get his attention.
"If i would have known that you would make my bedroom a library I would have built more shelves"
Zee said making Nunew look at him
Nunew then smiled.
"Hia! I didnt realize you're home already! How long have you been standing there?" Nunew asked
"Long enough to know that you're good at humming" Zee said as he smiles at him
Nunew blushed. He wasnt expecting Zee to see that.
Zee chuckled.
"Its nice to see that you like my place enough to make it your reading den" Zee teased
"Hia!" Nunew whined.
Zee just laughed at him
"Im just teasing you Nu. But jokes aside, Im happy that you are comfortable in my place. It gives me a bit of relief." Zee said to Nu as he gives him a small smile.
"Huh? Relief? Were you worried thay I wouldnt be comfortable here?" Nunew asked
"A bit. I want you to feel like my place is a safe space for you too. And seeing you relaxed like this just reassures me" Zee said making Nunew smile.
"You know, wherever you are is my comfort place. Your house is just the extension" Nunew told him.
Their moment was then interrupted by Nunew's growling stomach making Zee chuckle. Nunew felt embarrassed that he had to hide his face using his book
"No need to feel shy. I already know how big your appetite is. Come on and lets eat. The grilled King prawn is waiting for you." Zee smirked as he walks back to the kitchen
"Oh and I bought macarons too!" Zee shouted
"Did you say macarons?!" Nunew exclaimed as he jumps out of the bed.
The two had some nice dinner as they chat. Nunew was telling him stories about his friends which Zee is happy to listen to.
After dinner Nunew cleaned up the dishes while Zee go and have a shower. Zee dried all the dishes and went back to the bedroom after
Zee went out shower fully dressed and found Nunew in his bed again.
"You're a book worm. You are the proper definition of a bookworm. I bet if i search the word bookworm it would show your face." Zee said as he sits down next to Nunew
Nunew just laughs at him.
"If im a bookworm then you are a workaholic"
Nunew said as he see Zee takes his laptop out. He shakes his head as he layed on his belly and turned it on.
"Would you mind if I do a bit of work while you finish reading?" Zee asked
"See, workaholic" Nunew said
Zee looked at him and sat up a bit.
"Its okay if you dont want me to. I can just sit down in bed with you" Zee said
"Hia im just joking. Go do your thing" Nunew giggled.
Zee shakes his head and chuckled. He opened his emails and started reading them. Since US is on a different timezone, he usually get loads of emails at this time so he tries to catch up if he has time.
Nunew got bore after a bit. He glanced at Zee who is still on his laptop. Nu then felt clingy. He closed his book and sat up. He then flopped his body on top of Zee
"Nu? Everything okay?" Zeensaid without taking his eyes off of the laptop.
"Hiiiaaaaaaaaa" Nunew whined.
"Hmmm?" Zee said as he glances at Nu
"Im bored now" Nunew complained.
"Oh are you now? That's new" Zee chuckled
"Hiiiaaaaaaaaa" Nu whined like a kid
"Just give me a few minutes and we can watch TV. Or you can watch something now. I dont mind. The remote is in my bedside drawer." Zee said as he puts his attention back on what he was doing.
Nunew sighed. He thought of something that could either go good or bad.
Fuck it. Im gonna do it
Nunew said in his head as he smirks.
He raised his body a bit and started tickling Zee's side.
"Nunu!" Zee exclaimed
Nunew tickled Zee even more making him laugh
"Nunu! Stop!" Zee said in between laughs.
Nunew sat his whole weight on Zee and tickled more.
"Nunu stop! Stop!" Zee laughs hard. Nunew wont stop though.
So Zee closed his laptop and with all his strength, he turned himself and flipped Nunew on his back. They were both laughing as Zee lays on top of Nunew.
But as soon as they realize the position they are in, their giggles died down quickly.
Zee looked at Nunew's beautiful face as Nu stares in his brown eyes. He feels like his breath got caught. Zee gulped. He hopes Nunew cant feel his heartbeat at the moment because its beating like crazy.
Zee saw Nu's eyes go to his lips which made his automatically go to Nu's lips as well. Zee slightly licked his lips making Nunew breathe deeply.
They both can feel tension between them but nobody is ready to take the step. Zee caressed Nu's cheek and Nunew leaned to his hand. Zee's thumb touched Nu' lip as Nunew stares at Zee's face
ZEE PRUK PANICH! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!
Zee's brain suddenly shouted at him making him wake up from his daze.
He looked at Nunew's face and shut his eyes andnm sighed.
Fuck Zee! Control yourself for goodness sake!
Zee said to himself.
He opened his eyes again and saw a confused look in Nu's face. Zee doesnt want any awkward feeling around them so tickled Nunew's side.
"Oh my god hia!" Nunew exclaimed as Zee chuckled.
"Now you know how it feels!" Zee said as he laughs
"Hia!" Nunew tried to stand with all his might but Zee caught his waist
"Nope! You're not escaping!" Zee said as he pulls Nunew back to wards him and tickle him more.
"Hia! Im sorry! Im not gonna tickle you again! Promise!" Nunew said as he laughs
"Promise?" Zee asked as he stops tickling.
"Promise" Nunew said as his giggles slow down
Zee kept their position for a bit. He continued to back hug Nunew for a bit more. He doesnt really want to let go. He wants to hold him like this forever.
Nunew sighed. He likes what he is feeling right now. He has butterflies in his stomach which is definitely not from the tickling. He's hoping that Zee wouldnt notice the blush on his cheeks because he's so sure that he looks like a cherry tomato right now.
Nunew glanced at the clock. He sighed again. It's already too late in the evening.
"We should probably sleep now Hia. You have work tomorrow." Nunew said
"5 more minutes" Zee said as he puts his chin on Nu's shoulder.
Nunew shakes his head.
"Come on, we can cuddle. But you really have to sleep now or you wont get enough sleep again" Nunew said
Zee sighed as he releases Nunew.
"Alright." Zee grumbled.
Nunew chuckled at him. He gathered his books and Zee's laptop and put them neatly stacked on the table. He then went under the covers and snuggled closer to Zee.
Zee turned the night light off and put his arm around Nunew.
"Good night Hia."
Nunew said.
"Good night Nunu!" Zee said as he kisses the top of Nunew's Head.
Zee closed his eyes but Nunew's plump lips keep on popping in his head.
Get a grip Zee.
Zee told himself as he sighed
Nu has something in his head too. He sighed as he thinks about it.
Does he feel the same butterflies too?
Nu thinks as he lets himself be drifted to sleep.
