matilda sighed at comments under her post. why people were already hating on her because of chris when she didn't even met him yet?
those kind of statements were not something new to her due to the fact that her parents were famous even before she was born.
matilda tried not to overthink it because she shouldn't do it and she knows it. somehow those comments always hurt even after almost nineteen years of her life.
"hi tills!" ivy almost screamed with excitement "your mom let us in" added conrad "god i love her so much"
"why are you upset?" they both got serious and stopped joking around when they noticed that their best friend wasn't feeling well.
"just hate comments that are getting to my head" matilda answered honestly. she may be called pick me for that but she absolutely hates lying to people important to her.

matilda and ivy sat on countertop in the kitchen, surrounded by the warm aroma of freshly baked cookies.
frank ocean's songs played softly in the background, adding to the atmosphere. three best friends spent last few hours baking so now they were relaxing and enjoying the fruits of their labour. well, conrad was the only one who was doing any actual work now taking out cookies from the oven.
they chatted and laughed loudly as they snacked on leftover cookie dough, talking about everything to take matilda's mind off mean comments under her and some gossip account instagram post.
girls didn't even realize when the conversation turned to talking about chris.
"he's so cute," matilda gushed. "and i think he's really nice too. my dad told me that he found the way he talked about me really respectful"
"daddy's approval" conrad laughed while trying to eat freshly baked hot cookie.
"you just can't get him out of your head, can you?" ivy asked tilly.
"yeah, kinda" matilda agreed "like, every time i think about him, my heart races like crazy"
"maybe it wouldn't be that bad if you just text him" added connie.
"i don't want to get hurt again" tilly sighed "but let's not talk about it right now"
they continued to talk about everything they could possibly think of, sharing stories and offering each other advice. as they chatted, one of their favorite songs came on, and they started singing along, feeling the rhythm in their bones.
it was a perfect moment, filled with laughter, joy, and a sense of being home. they were just three best friends, baking cookies and enjoying the simple pleasures of life, and they couldn't have been happier.
