jules had been more or less distracted the past week, and she had her friends to thank for that. pansy and daphne had stayed with her the last couple of nights, allowing her to wallow as they drank, ate ice creams and watched romcoms. hannah and susan had allowed her to overrun their dorm with her paintings. while ginny and the others had taken a different approach, distracting her through work and food— her and hermione had several study sessions, ginny had baked with her, and the group all went to hogsmeade one day. it was nice wall it lasted, but when jules was lying there alone at night, all her emotions came flooding back to her.
juliet's coping mechanisms were never healthy; it began with crying and painting, before she discovered alcohol and then it was drinking and crying, before she finally discovered sex. jules didn't really enjoy it that much, simply because she'd only had it with one person and he was a complete and utter cunt, yet there was something about it that made her feel just a tiny bit special. it made her feel wanted, even if it is just for a fleeting moment. and if she wasn't wanted by theo, then jules knew she could count on one person.
