Mayumi sat in the as the three idiots (Gojo, Geto and Shoko) were getting interrogated by her father. Because apparently, they had forgotten to put on a seal. Which resulted to a huge mess and made it to the news channels
They were there because they had to rescue Utahime and Mei Mei. They were missing for two days, so the 3 second years went to find them
Although Mayumi was acting normal, she was freaking on the inside. She knows everything will be changing from now.
But being the stubborn girl she is, she was determined to change this misery.
She already had everything planned in her head. She first thought to not let them leave or telling them to decline the mission but she left that.
This mission was important for both of their devolvement. It was needed. They needed to become what they are supposed, well Gojo atleast needed to. This is the mission that will eventually make him the strongest shaman of the era
That's all he had to do. And Mayumi will personally take care of Geto Suguru. She wouldn't let him take the path he took
She was thinking all this as her father harshly bonked Gojo on the head. Her daze broke as she looked at them

Yaga sighed, he couldn't deal with these idiots. And sometimes he thought what would happen if his daughter wasn't there to help him or heal the headaches he had frequently while dealing with these dear devils.

It was like he didn't understand anything without her. If he goes somewhere, he asks for Mayumi. If he eats something, he thinks of what Mayumi wanted. If he buys something, he thinks what does Mayumi need so he could buy something for her
And Yaga didn't like this at all. He didn't like how his pupils especially, Gojo and Geto were spoiling his daughter. And he didn't like how his daughter was allowing it
He by no means is a controling father. But he couldn't comprehend why Mayumi was letting them continue there bullshit. She was a no nonsense girl in every situation, every situation except any that resolved around Gojo and Geto
He didn't understand why she didn't tell them to f of. Of course, he knew she didn't like them as much as she liked Haibara and Nanami, I mean it was clear. But it still didn't make any sense to him why she tolerates them
Gojo let out a nother whine
"I am not gonna let Mayumi-chan go! She's mine!"
Mayumi sighed and gently pushed him away a little. He pouted as he looked down at her. She sighed again seeing the huge bulge on his head where her father hit him
She ushered him to lean down, and healed his wound. He took a sigh of relief when the pain started to disappear
"Mayumi-chan ~~~ my lovely Mayumi-chan ~~"
He said in a singing tone as she squishd his cheeks with hers
"Please refrain yourself from doing mistakes like this, Satoru-nii-chan. Don't ever forget to put on the necessary seal."
Geto rolled his eyes while playing basketball.
"But Mayumi-chan ~~~ why is it so important to put the seal. It's not like civilians can see cursed technique or curses."
Mayumi sighed
"If it wasn't needed, they wouldn't do it, would they? And you saw what happened today, didn't you?"

"I don't understand why you're babying Satoru, Mayumi-chan. He's understands and he's old enough "

Mayumi just calmly blinked, her always put together emotionless face
"As I said before, multiple times, both of you are equally loved. Now stop fighting a loosing battle. Do your jobs and missions. "
They sighed

They looked at, smiling and encouraging her to say what she wanted
"How is Hime-chan?"

Although her face was natural, he eyes lit up. It was clear she was excited
Their faces instently changed. Their smiles faded as they made a sour face
"Why do you want to know about her?"
Gojo demanded with an angry face

Mayumi thought as she internally smirked
"What are you asking, nii-chan? Of course, I was worried for her. She's my future wife after all"
Gojo scowled, while Geto creased his eyebrows in displeasure
"No she isn't "

Mayumi stared at them blankly for a moment before starting to walk away. Their eyes waiden as quickly stopped her
She looked up at them and asked
"Do you need anything?"
They looked at her in disbelief
"I was talking to you!"
Gojo said as he pointed accusingly at Mayumi
"Forgive me, but I have no intention of fighting a loosing battle with you. No matter what I say or think you will live with your conclusions, nii-chan. So what is the point "
Gojo pouted
"Mayumi-chan~~~~..... What about you marry me instead? I promise I will buy you a pretty dress"
" I refuse. I don't need any dresses nii-chan. My mother is getting me enough. Plus you'll probably buy a bunch of puffy, heavy ball gowns that are very uncomfortable to wear just because they are expensive. "
Gojo's pout got even bigger as he argued back
"But we are stronger and richer!"
Mayumi looked at them blankly before sighing
"Money or power doesn't matter to me. It never did. I don't love for that. I don't love either of you for money or power. Even if you weren't rich or strong I would still love you just as much. "
They both went quiet
They always thought how she could be so mature at such a young age. The way she talked and thinked, made her truly a wise person
Just then her father came and took the boys away while scolding them for disturbing her
Mayumi didn't say anything only waited for them. They came back after half an hour
"Mayumi-chan, we're going on a mission. It will probably take 2 or three days."
Mayumi nodded
"It's a mission directly given by tengen-sama! See we are so trusted "
Mayumi internally cried out
She hated this. She hated the fact what will happen. But even after knowing everything, she couldn't do anything. Her hands were tied. She wanted to stop them, but couldn't. Not when Megumi and Gojo's future ware in line
Mayumi nodded as she handed Geto and Gojo some candies. She looked at Geto
"Eat it after absorbing any curses. The awful aftertaste will go away "
Geto's heart warmed up at her concern and caringness

She stared at them till they were out of reach. She sighed to herself. Now this was the time to protect them... She will protect everyone
