Clarisse had woken up before Claire, turning over to face the girl, just admiring her almost forgetting about what had happened last night with Percy. But she wasn't going to let that ruin this moment right now. Clarisse had been trying to learn different techniques to control her emotions, mostly for Claire.
She didn't want to make Claire put up with her emotions. It was one of her biggest insecurities, but talking with Claire when it got to her head helped. But it still made her nervous, nervous to let Claire in fully, nervous she was going to be judged. Pulling her out of her thoughts, Claire peeked her eyes open smiling, making all of Clarisse's bad thoughts disappear.
Clarisse smiled back at the girl, feeling butterflies erupt in her stomach, "Good morning, beautiful,".
Claire blushed hiding her face in the pillow, "Don't say that, I just woke up! I look like a mess,".
"No -- you're always gorgeous,"
Claire looked at Clarisse again, her face beat red. She leaned in quickly, kissing her on the cheek.
The girls stayed in bed for a while, just talking about anything and everything. But eventually they had to get up and get ready.

Walking out from Claire's cabin with their hands intertwined, they looked around at all the campers running around. The camp was always pretty hectic on the day of Capture the Flag. Clarisse eventually had to part ways with Claire to go back to Ares to run down the game plan again, to which Claire nodded.
Despite the girls being on the same team, due to Clarisse's request, Claire knew her position well, just guarding the flag, and with her powers that was easy. Looking around she spotted that blonde boy from yesterday, Percy, she picked up his name while Clarisse was rambling on about what happened last night. She jogged over to the boy, slightly startling him.
He looked up at her, slight fear in his eyes, "Look if you're here to give me trouble, can it at least wait till Capture the Flag," he said looking Claire up and down in fear.
"What, no. I just wanted to formally introduce myself. I'm Claire!" she said extending her hand out.
"I'm — Percy," He shakes her hand, smiling happy someone was finally being nice to him.
"So who is your godly parent?" he asked curiously.
"My mother is Celeste, goddess of the cosmos, I'm assuming you don't know who yours is," she said giving him a knowing look.
A nodded smiling bashfully at her, his face quickly changing as he saw Clarisse stomping over, a mean look on her face.
"Babe, what are you doing talking to him? Was he bothering you because if he was I swear--" she said looking Percy up and down.
"Clarisse, I was just introducing myself to the new camper, to make him feel welcomed!" she said looking up at her, putting her hands on her chest, trying to get her to calm down.
"Wait, Babe?" Percy said looking between the two, "Are you two, like," he was cut off by Clarisse before he could finish his sentence.
"Yes, she is my girlfriend you idiot," Clarisse snapped walking closer to Percy, and getting in his face, "And if I ever see you near her again Jackson, I swear,", Claire quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her back.
"Okay, you proved your point sweetheart, let's go now." she pulled her hot-headed girlfriend away, mouthing an 'I'm sorry,' to Percy, to which he smiled.
"Babe, you should try to be nicer, if you think about it, I was once a new camper, and look at us now!"Claire said in a teasing tone, wrapping her arms around Clarisse's neck.
"Okay, but in my defense, you're you, and he's him,"
Claire smiles at her, "That genuinely makes zero sense, but come on we have to go get ready,"Claire said shaking her head laughing.

The air was tense the opposing teams staring each other down, Claire didn't love Capture the Flag, it was okay, she just liked seeing Clarisse happy during it. Soon enough the conch blew and the teams dispersed, before Claire went with the other kids to her position she walked over giving Clarisse a kiss on the cheek .
" I'll see you after okay?"Claire said hugging the slightly taller girl.
The girls parted ways, Clarisse going towards the woods, while Claire followed her other teammates. Claire didn't know why Clarisse wanted to split up, usually wanting to be in the same place as Claire during Capture the Flag but, she did have a feeling it had something to do with Percy, she didn't question it, nothing wanting to upset Clarisse.
Guarding the flag was fairly easy, but it became harder to focus as her mind plagued with thoughts of Clarisse and even Percy. Claire knew Clarisse didn't like Percy because he seemed to be able to do everything so easily like killing the minotaur, making friends he fit right in and Clarisse always felt like she didn't, but it's still not a good reason to hate the boy or even harm him. Claire was pulled out of her thoughts when she had heard a twig snap in the woods.
She and her teammates bolt their heads around, looking for whoever could have made the noise, she saw some of the Hermes kids, she looked through them wondering where Luke was since he was usually leading the Hermes kids. She heard one of her teammates yell out behind her, turning around she saw Luke and most of the blue team, running away from the flag, just then a scream run through the forest that sounded an awful lot like Clarisse. Claire's head shot up, immediately getting an awful feeling in her stomach, her and her teammates made eye contact then immediately started going towards the beach.
Coming up to the beach nothing seemed unusual, until Claire took an another look she saw Percy and Annabeth standing on the beachside with a trident above his head.
"Son of Poseidon," she whispered in disbelief, Annabeth was right, he was the one she was supposed to take on her quest.
As she got closer she noticed something else on the ground, Clarisse's spear, broken in two. She connected in her head that this had to have been what caused the scream to break from
her lips, immediately feeling a wave of sadness wash over her. She picked up both pieces of the spear, walking to the one place she knew her girlfriend would be.

Walking up to the clearing she saw Clarisse sitting against a tree, a sense of nostalgia washed over Claire as she looked at her girlfriend, this reminds her of the time Clarisse stormed out at lunch, she smiled at the thought wondering what would have happened if she had never done that, she frowned at the idea she wasn't sure the girls would have been here now if she never followed after her.
Using her powers Claire sent a small gust of wind in Clarisse's way, making her turn her head at her girlfriend her frown turning into a small smile before falling again, returning to her frown.
Sitting down next to her girlfriend, Claire put her head on Clarisse'a shoulder, intertwining their hands.
Claire breathed out, " So son of Poseidon, crazy right?" she said trying to lighten the mood, Clarisse only nodded, still sitting there silent.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Claire said, looking up at her girlfriend who was trying so hardly not to cry.
Clarisse shook her head 'no', Claire nodded.
They sat there in silence until an idea popped into Claire's head.
"You know, now that I think about it, I think I saw a spell in my spell book about bonding magical items, how about we go test it out, sweetheart?" Claire's voice was soft, hoping this would make her girlfriend feel better.
She saw Clarisse's eyes light up,"Yeah — okay we can try,".
Claire smiled, standing up while reaching a hand out for her girlfriend, "Okay, let's go then,".
