Next day,
Nandini and anushka were out for roop's birthday, she was turning Twenty one today, The whole day was spent with them at roop's house where they wrote letter to ashwik to inform him about the good-news and they wandered in the whole village as an "spending good time together"
Nandini was overwhelmed from the happiness yet a sad feeling was there in her heart, thinking about how all these years flew away and now, the roop who was a grumpy and childish person once was going to become mother in few months
Roop , where on the other hand, was teasing anushka the whole day after learning about how saraswati asked for grandchildren from them which she got to know from nandini
Anushka's teasing and playing was coming back to her and she couldn't stop blushing every time
While on the other hand, Abhiraj and abhinav spent their whole day preparing for their departure, They had the four hour journey by train to Delhi the next early morning,
Abhinav was busy in recollecting all his photographs specifically, while abhiraj helped saraswati in house chores a little as he was bored
In evening, when everything was packed and they were done with their works, Abhiraj sat and took his journal in his hands
His mind was filled with new stories ideas nowadays and he wanted to write small summaries about them, so that he could work on those projects after he reaches back home, A little feeling of loneliness was filling him up, thinking he has leave from here and maybe, he would never meet nandini again but to his bad luck,he didn't saw nandini from the morning
At night,
8pm
Everyone was sitting on floor in the aangan and having their dinner, when abhinav spoke in-between "Baba?"
Sarpanch hmmed and spared a look at him while still chewing on his meal
"Me aur bhai, kal subah char baje hi nikal rahe hai, kyuki kal ke baad agli train seedah teen din baad hogi" Abhinav informed to which virat nodded but sarpanch interfered "beta itni jaldi, kuch din aur ruk kar jao"
"Dhanywaad baba, per maa ko hamne vada Kiya tha ki ek hafte ke baad aajayenge, abh agar bilkul ek hafte baad nahi Gaye toh maa daat marengi" Abhinav said while scratching back of his head
Sarpanch laughed at his cute excuse and nodded his head
ABHIRAJ POV
I chuckled at the lame excuse of abhinav and roamed my eyes in house again, Nandini was still not back and I felt heavy in heart
My thoughts were interuppted when I looked at virat bhai, sarpanch and abhinav, they were having a good time and were laughing
A smile formed on my lips, I remember how, I refused to come here with abhinav but he forcibly took me with him to prevent my parents to talk about my marriage with my neighbour vishakha
Who abhinav didn't liked at all, Can't deny, I don't have any love feelings towards her anyways too,
But, I genuinely thank abhinav for bringing me here, I felt nice to be out from the chit-chattering of office, The noises of town and Had time for myself
Special thanks to him, that I met Nandini too
Soon, we were done from our dinner and it was night time, Abhinav went to sleep early as we had to wake up early the next morning but I wanted to clear my head
Informing him, I went to the roof top and sat on the staircase, I gazed at the sky , Stars were twinkling making the night sky looking beyond beautiful
My thoughts were interuppted when I heard someone's anklets ringing, I turned my head to the person, who was climbing up the stairs, my eyes fell on her
She was mumbling something to herself and her eyes were darted towards stairs, while her hands were holding her black floral kurti with white designs crafted on them
She gazed up at me, when she saw my feets and gasped "Haye ram, aapne toh hame dara hi diya" She kept her hand on her chest and exhaled deeply
I chuckled and gave access to her to go to roof, but she didn't walked rather sat opposite to me
I collected my legs closer to myself and looked at her, whose fair skin was shining under the moon light, The delightful blue light fell on her face, and her eyes sparkled like diamonds in night sky
Her hairs were kept open, I admired her slightly not Caring even if she caught me, "I'm not going to meet her again anyway" I thought in myself and looked at her
A comfortable silence surrounded us, when she turned her gaze from the stars in the sky and looked at me "Aap yaha kya kar rahe the?"
I hmmed and replied "Kuch waqt akele bitane aaye the"
She nodded her head and looked at me, "Aapko pta hai aaj kafi maza aaya, Aaj roop ka janamdin hai" She said excitedly and squealed in happiness
I looked at her while narrowing my eyes, and smiled
She seemed really excited that she didn't even cared about the fact that we never really had conversations
"Achha" I replied
She started telling me about her whole day and how she spent it
Smile didn't left my lips and My eyes softly gazed at her the whole time, Her hands movements when she explained the scenes, Her facial expressions changing according to the talks, the strands Falling on her face, Her small laugh between her talks, Her long lashes shining under the shed of sparkling light of stars and her eyes filled with amusements, She looked mesmerizingly beautiful
My hands that were folded on my chest, went to take the small journal from the other stair, I looked at her again
My hands drew rough sketches of her figure, while I nodded my head in between to let her know I was listening
I closed the book, when she was done and she exhaled deeply and clapped her hands "Achha laga itne dino baad apni bachpan ki saheli ke sath waqt beeta kar, nah jane kese itni jaldi bade ho Gaye, kal toh ham dono ek sath mil kar khelte the
Nah jane kese, shaddi aur bachhe, sab badal Gaya" she said and looked at the night sky again
I hmmed and nodded my head, she also shaked her head positively and asked "Kafi bolte hai nah ham ?"
I laughed a little and replied "aapki batein toh ham raat-bhar sun le"
She looked at me shocked and asked "huh?"
I smiled and shaking my head in nothing, I continued "kuch nahi"
She blinked nervously and said "vaise raat kaafi ho gyi hai, aapko sone jaana chahiye"
I nodded my head obediently and asked "Vaise aap itni raat ko yaha kyu?"
She face palmed herself and said "are ham toh bhul hi Gaye, aaj maa kapde utarna bhul gyi thi, toh ham kapde utarne aaye the" She shaked her head in disappointment for herself and went away
I stood up after her and made my ways behind her, she looked at me from the side and said "kya hua?"
I confusingly looked at her and replied "aapki maddat Kara rahe hai"
"Are koi baat nahi, ham kar lenge" she said while snatching the clothes out of my hands softly
I assured her with an nod and started unclipping the clothes and collected them
After we were done, we both went to her room and I kept the clothes on her bed, She looked at me shyly and said "shukriya"
I saw her, she was fidging her fingers, I chuckled a little at her cute nervous gestures and asked " Aapki koi or maddat karayein?"
She quickly shaked her head in no, "nahi nahi, Shukriya itni maddat ka, abh Sara kaam aapse thodi karwayenge"
I laughed at her response and replied "ji koi baat nahi, ham maddat Kara denge"
She again nervously shooked her head in no, I smiled and nodding my head, I made my way to the exit of her room
My footsteps stopped at the door and I turned to looked at her figure "Subh ratri nandini ji" I softly said to which she turned and smiling she wished me back "subh ratri abhiraj ji"
I smiled and taking glance of her figure for the last time, I smiled to myself and made my way upstairs
"why does destiny bring two souls close when, it doesn't have any plans to make those two souls into one??"
I completed journalising with the last statement and keeping it aside, I drifted to sleep with an calm heart
Author POV
Next morning, 3 am
Abhinav and abhiraj kept their bags on the bullock cart, and went to touch sarpanch's and saraswati's feet, who were still half-asleep
Sarpanch patted their head and hugged them
"Aap sab se mil kar kafi achha laga" Abhinav said, while smiling with a heavy heart thinking about their leave
Saraswati chuckled and cleaned his face with her pallu and said "Hame bhi aap dono se milkar achha laga"
Abhinav dramatically cried and hugged saraswati to which bheem, sarpanch and abhiraj laughed
Saraswati embraced him in her warmth and ruffling his hairs, she also laughed on him
Abhinav cleaned his non existing tears and made his way to the bullock cart, Abhiraj came forward and adjoined his hands to bid her good-bye
Saraswati also hugged him and ruffling his hairs too she said "Bhagwan, ka hath rahe aap dono ke sir par sada"
Abhiraj emotionally touched her feet again
He stood up and for the last time, roamed his eyes at the house, Nandini was no where to be seen
He felt his heart heavy, he wanted to capture her figure for the last time when he leaves, but she wasn't here
With heart wrenching feeling, He bid everyone good bye and started his journey with bheem Kaka and Sanju
Abhiraj was silent and his eyes were looking around to see that the environment was still covered with darkness around, Abhinav yawned and kept his head on abhiraj's lap
Abhiraj smiled and brushed abhinav's hairs, He inhaled deeply and looked around while still tapping abhinav's forhead softly and mumbled to himself
"Nice journey"
