~One month later~
Raaghav and Vaidehi had a long night. A night full of pleasures and togetherness.
The sun rose. Today was a Sunday and a day off for them. Like any other usual Sunday, the whole staff was on a leave. This would it be. The couple would spent the entire day whenever they could together, without any disturbances.
Vaidehi stirred in her sleep as she shifted close to Raaghav.
Just then, Raaghav's phone rang.
Their sleep was getting disturbed.
"Ra.. Aapka phone.. " Vaidehi said as she covered her ears.
(Ra.. Your phone..)
Raaghav too was irritated. Why wouldn't he. The person who got just an hour of sleep or so till now.
He turned to pick the phone on and quickly cut the call off.
It again rang after few minutes.
Raaghav again cut it off.
The third time that it rang,
"Raaghav uthayiye na.. Important hoga.. "Vaidehi said.
( Raaghav pick it up na.. It might be important..)
Raaghav groaned.
He picked the call up and before the other side could speak he said in his sleepy voice, " Iss route ki sari line y vyasth hai, kripya siddha kaal prayas karein! ", with that he cut the call off.
("The person you are trying to call is busy, please try again tomorrow! ")
It was Rana Amrendra who was ringing Raaghav up. He was shocked to hear what Raaghav just spoke. He chuckled slightly.
" Kya huwa! Kaha hai woh! Kabse bahar khade hai. ", Soumyawatti said being irritated.
(" What happened! Where is he! From when are standing outside now! ")
The whole Yaduvanshi family was standing outside the main door of the mahal. The door was locked from inside. They tried calling out to the staff, but nobody was in sight. They tried calling Raaghav and you know where he was;)
Rana Amrendra again rang Raaghav.
This time Raaghav picked up.
Before he could speak, Rana Amrendra spoke, "Raaghav! Hum hai! "
("Raaghav, it's me!)
Raaghav recognised the voice. He got up from the bed.
He checked the contact name to confirm.
"Dadusa.. Aap.. "
"Hum sab bahar khade hai Raaghav! Aap jara darwaza kholenge? "
"Ba.. Bahar.. Kaha? ", Raaghav asked, he was still in his sleep.
" Mahal ke main darwaze ke bahar! ".
( Dadusa.. You)
( "We all are standing outside Raaghav! Can you please open the door! ")
( "Outside.. Where? ")
( "Outside the main door of the palace! ")
" Huh.. Aap.. Aap.. Log yaha aaye hai? ", Raaghav asked looking at Vaidehi, who was also awaken a bit now.
" Ha! "
"Hum.. Hum.. Aate hai! "
With that Raaghav looked at Vaidehi putting the phone off.
"Vaidu, the family's here! ", he said.
Vaidehi panicked.
" Aise achanak?"
Raaghav shrugged his shoulders.
"Raaghav.. Mei..
" Calm down jaan! Mei jaata hu, I'll open the door, you take your time, phir niche aah jana! Nahi aana ho toh bhi its fine! ", he said as he pecked her forehead, and rushed to the washroom.
Vaidehi too got up.
She wasn't too sore, but there was a bit of tiredness.
("Huh.. When.. You guys are here? ")
(" Yes! ")
("I'll.. I'll come! ")
(" Vaidu, the family's here! ")
(" Suddenly? ")
(" Raaghav.. Me..")
("Calm down jaan! I'll go and open the door. You take your time, then afterwards come down stairs! In fact if you don't want to! Than also it's fine! ")
Raaghav went and opened the door. He also called Bela Kaki and the other staff.
The family came and settled in the hall.
" Itni der se baahar khade the. Aap kya hi kar rahe the Raaghav! ", Soumyawatti asked being irritated.
(" We were standing outside from when! What we're you even doing, Raaghav? ")
" Aur tumhari woh biwi kaha hai? ", Damyatti asked. (" And where is your wife? ")
Raaghav, royally ignored both the ladies.
Bela kaki served the family,tea and snacks.
After some time Vaidehi came downstairs.
Raaghav made her sit down on the sofa, as he settled on the other.
"Ek din bad Mahadev ki varshik pooja hai Raaghav! Aur har saal ki tarah iss saal bhi pooja hogi!, " Soumyawatti commented.
("There's Mahadev's pooja,the one that we do every year, coming just after a day, Raaghav!
And like every other year, we are going to celebrate it this time aswell! ")
"Yaad hai hume!", Raaghav retorted.
(" I do remember! ")
"Toh tayariya shuru karte hai! ", Rana Amrendra said.
( " So let's start with the preparations! ")
" Hum kaal hi shopping ke liye jayenge, Daadu! ", Rushala said excitedly.
(" We will go for shopping tomorrow only! ")
" Hum kaal hi shopping jayenge....Shopping ke alawa kuch aata bhi hai tujhe! ",Dhruv teased her, mimicking.
(" We'll go for shopping tomorrow only.... Do you even know anything other than shopping? ")
" Aur waise bhi bandar kitne bhi aache kapde pehne! Bandar hi lagta hai! ",he further commented.
" Tumne hume bandar kaha! Tum.. Tum suar ho! ", Rushala retorted back.
(" And anyway, a monkey would look the same, even if he's made to wear the expensive attires, you see! ")

And their bickering began.
Raaghav stared at them admiringly. He was never a part of this. He sighed.
Just then his phone pinged. It was a text message from Vaidehi who was sitting just beside him.

Just then Rana Amrendra asked, "Vaidehi beta? ", seeing that Vaidehi was engrossed in her phone.
" Ha..ha..Aap kuch keh rahe the dadusa? ", Vaidehi questioned.
" Ha woh hum keh rahe the ki, pooja karani hai, phir logo ko bhet vastu bhi deni hai, toh list banani padegi! ", Rana Amrendra said.
(" Haa.. Were you saying something, Dadusa? ")
(Ya.. I was saying, that we have to do the pooja, and then, distribute gifts among the public as well, so why not prepare a list! ")
" Ha toh kaal shopping ke baad yeh ladki jakar le aayegi na, jo bhi samagri lagegi woh! ", Damyatti commented looking at Vaidehi. She thought that this was a diminishing work.
(" Ya, so after shopping this girl will ho and get the things needed na! ")
" Hum.. Hum bhi jayenge sari samagri lane! ", Raaghav was quick to say.
( "I.. I'll also go with her. " )
The family was shocked. They had never seen Raaghav show interest in the family events.
Rana Amrendra chuckled.
" Ha chale jayiye ga Raaghav! ", he said.
" Par ek baat puche? ", he further asked.
"Ji! ", Raaghav said.
" Aapko shopping wagera pasad hai? ", Rana Amrendra said being obvious to the fact that Raaghav was not a big fan of shopping.

" It's fun to see her bargaining at the stalls, Dadusa! ", Raaghav said teasingly looking at Vaidehi.
" I.. I bargain! ", Vaidehi huffed.
" Dadusa, hum bus woh jo dukandar bada chada kar bhav bolte hai, uska sahi sahi lagate hai! Inke jaise nahi jo 10 ki chiz bhi 100 mei lekar aaye! ", Vaidehi continued telling Rana Amrendra.
("Dadusa, I just get the things at their appropriate rates, not like him. He has the ability to get a 10 Rs thing for 100Rs.")
" Aapko pata hai dadusa, yeh toh dhaniya bhi paise dekar lekar aate hai!, "Vaidehi complained looking at Raaghav.
Rana Amrendra chuckled.
(" You know what Dadusa, he even pays for coriander! ")
" Ha toh, bechare paise ke liye hi toh woh bechte hai na Vaidu! ", Raaghav argued.
" Nahiii... Raaghav... ", Vaidehi chided.
(" Ha.. The poor fellow, sells it for money only na Vaidu! ")

The family was watching this sweet banter. Moreover they were more shocked with the kind of comfortable conversation Vaidehi was having with Rana Amrendra. Everyone of them usually thinks twice before even uttering a word to him.
But that was the bond she had developed with Rana Amrendra over time. Moreover Rana Amrendra always had a soft corner for Vaidehi and Raaghav.
Rana Amrendra and Randhir had smiles on their face.
" Yeh dono bilkul humari tarah hai Shanti. Par humara beta humari tarah kabhi nahi banega! Yaakin hai hume! ", Randhir spoke to the portrait of Raaghav's mother that hang on the wall.
(" They are just like us Shanti. But our son, he'll never become like me. ")
Rutvendra was watching the couple with awe. He never thought that they would turn out to be this close. He turned towards Aanisha. They never had this kind of banters. They were never this free with each other. They could never be a couple like the one that they were witnessing right in front of them. It was as if he and Aanisha were the forced couple, when in reality it was vice versa.
Somewhere, Rutvendra felt a pang in his heart. A pang of having lost Vaidehi. A pang on seeing Raaghav so very happy.
Why wouldn't he? Ever since childhood he was always told, that he was the chosen one. Only he has the right to get the best among him and Raaghav.
He always got everything better then Raaghav. He got the throne. The family's love.
But still not the peace, the satisfaction that human beings strive for in their lives. The satisfaction, the peace that he was witnessing on Raaghav's face currently.
"Aacha baba! Sabzi lete wakt, dhaniya free lene ka! Agar dukandar jyada jyada bhaav laga rahe ho, toh nimbu bhi free magne ke!, aapka sikhaya huwa sab yaad hai jaan! ", Raaghav said acting all dramatic.
(" Okay baba! While buying vegetables, coriander is to be bought complementarily. If the shopkeeper tries to act oversmart, then ask for free lemons aswell! I remember everything that you taught!")
To which Vaidehi rolled her eyes.
" Don't roll your eyes Vaidu! ", Raaghav said,his voice getting a bit darker. Vaidehi being, his Vaidehi rolled her eyes again.
" You know I can give you better reasons to roll these pretty eyes of yours? ", Raaghav asked smirking.
Rana Amrendra coughed.
Just then Raaghav realized what he said and where he said it.
" Woh.... List.. List.. Banate hai. Kyu Vaidu? Pooja ki list banate hai! ", Raaghav tried diverting the situation.
" Ha. . Ha.. Mei pen paper lekar aayi! ", Vaidehi said doing the same thing as Raaghav.
" Arey.. Nahi tum nahi. You sit.! ", Raaghav said remembering that she was a bit sore.
(" That.. List.. List.. Let's prepare the list. Right Vaidu? Let's prepare the pooja's list! ")
("Ya.. Ya.. I'll get the pen paper. ")
("No..Not you..You sit.. ")
Seeing the couple struggle together to hid their embarrassment, Rana Amrendra busted out laughing.
It was one of those rarest times when the family actually saw the head of the clan laugh.
After few moments, he stopped and said, " List baad mei bana denge, ab hum abhi abhi aaye hai na! Toh thodi der aaram karna chahte hai Raaghav! ".
(" We'll prepare the list later. I want to rest for a while, Raaghav! ")
" Ha.. Ha ji ji! Aaram.. Aaram ki jarurat hai... Apko. Chalo chalo Vaidu! Tumhe bhi aaram ki jarurat hai! ", Raaghav said as he got up.
" Huh! Isse aaram ki jarurat kyu hai bhala! ", Soumyawatti asked being irritated.
" Woh.. Dadisa. ", Vaidehi was thinking about what to say when Raaghav said.
"Chalo Vaidu..", totally dismissing Soumyawatti.
They left.
(" Yes.. Yes.. Rest.. You need rest. Let's go.. Vaidu. You also need rest. ")

After they reached almost the place from where they were not visible to the family, Raaghav scooped Vaidehi in his arms.
"Sorry jaan! Jyada dard ho raha hai kya? ", he softly asked as he carried her to their room. (" Sorry jaan! Is it paining too much? ")
" Uff Raaghav", Vaidehi said dramatically as she circled her arms around his neck.
"Mei bas aapki tang kich rahi thi! Aur waise bhi, this pain is full of pleasure you know!, " She huskily spoke as she bite his ear in a seductive way.
("I was just pulling your leg. And anyways, this pain is full of pleasure you know! ")
"Kinky much na! ", Raaghav said as he softly threw her on the bed and hovered over.

" Arey.. Hume aapko kuch dikhana tha!", he said dismissing her talks.

She raised her eyebrows asking what.
"Yeh! ", he said as he pulled the saree that he was hiding, that he had selected for her.
Vaidehi looked at the saree with wide eyes .
" Kya huwa? Pasand nahi aayi! Koi nahi..
He was saying, when this time she put her palm on his mouth to stop him from blabbering.
"Pasand toh bohot aayi! Par..
He raised his eyebrows on that par!
(" What happened? Didn't you like it? It's fine.. )

Just then she showed him the kurta piece that she was carrying, that she had selected for him.
It was the same colour. Like they both selected, outfits of same colour for each other. Though Vaidehi had her reasons for selecting the Royal Blue kurta for him. But damn! That was so much of telepathy traits between them.
He looked at the kurta and chuckled.
" Yeh aap pe jachega! ", she said.
He took hold of the kurta. It was apt for his size.
(" It'll look good on you")
" Hum yeh pehn ke dekhe? ", Vaidehi asked.
(" I'll wear this and see! ")
" Ha! ", Raaghav agreed.
He moved towards her.
" Raaghav! ", she said, as if asking him what he was doing.
" Ab humne select kiya hai, toh pehnana bhi humara kaam hai, aur phir utarna bhi! ", he said, as he started undoing her saree.

"Ha hum meri jaan! ", he said as he let the pleats of her saree free.
" Aapko saree pehnana aata hai? ", she asked raising her eyebrows.
" Pehle kabhi try nahi kiya! Par i am good at everything I do, so pehna dunga! ", he said dramatically as he boasted about himself.
" Self obsessed much? ", Vaidehi squinted her eyes.
" No... Obsessed with you", he said as he started kissing her shoulders with his fingers played with her belly button. His one hand was playing with her boobs.
She was moaning.
("Now that I selected it, toh it's me who'll make you wear it! And me! Who'll remove it aswell! ")

(" Do you know how to tie a saree?")
("I have never tried it before, but I am good at everything that I do, so I'll make you wear it!")
" Raa... Koi.. Sun legaa! ", she said with difficulty.

After nearly 30 minutes, he was done making her wear the new saree.
She looked ethereal.
He stared at her, as she looked at herself in the mirror.
" Hum aapko dekhkar hi janmo-janam bita sakte hai jaan! ", he said as he stared her without blinking, his hands folded.
She blushed.
" Kitni sundar saree hai Raaghav! Hum isse hi le rahe hai! ", she exclaimed.
" Let's click a pic! ", she said.
" Uhhhh! ", he as usual being not a good fan of pictures tried getting away with it, by Vaidu kaha mane.

After almost 45 minutes and with nearly 5-7 people having banged the trial room door and calling out, they finally decided to leave from there.
" Raaghav! Aise kaha ja rahe hai aap? ", she asked, looking at him who was all ready to go out of the ladies trial room.

" Aise kaha matlab!? "He asked being confused.
(" Like this? ")
" Arey! Ladies trial room hai yeh!
Ek minute, mhuje dekhne dijiye bahar rasta saaf hai ki nahi woh! ", she said as she looked out of the door slightly.

On getting confirmed that there was no one outside, she signalled him to move.
Few seconds after him, she too moved out.
They then walked towards where the family was.
Unware of the fact, that Rutvendra had watched them come out of the trial room together.

The entire family was sitting in the living room, after the dinner.
All the preparations for the pooja were done.
The pooja was to happen in the hands of Rutvendra and Aanisha.
The family sat, relaxing from the hectic day.

Raaghav and Vaidehi were in their room. Vaidehi was doing her night care, when she heard Raaghav say, "Vaidu, mausam bada accha hai, let's have a walk outside! ".

Vaidehi too agreed.
They moved out in the garden. Their hands entwined as they talked and talked.
The moonlight was making them glow, their smiles were evident in the light of the moon.
This all was seen by Rutvendra again, who couldn't help but feel jealous.
Why could he and Aanisha not have what Raaghav and Vaidehi did, he thought to himself.
Rutvendra's mind was clouded with thoughts. A part of his mind was cursing him for having lost Vaidehi. He was somewhere feeling that Vaidehi would have made a better pair with him, rather than Aanisha.
But then, he was reminded of what he did. He was reminded that he had chosen Aanisha himself. And the fact that he loves Aanisha.
He entered his room, with the same thoughts going on in his mind, when he saw Aanisha talking to someone on the phone.
She was in the balcony. He couldn't hear what she was speaking, but it looked like she was blushing.
After few minutes, Aanisha did come inside the room.
"Kisse baat kar rahi thi baby? ", Rutvendra asked casually.
" Tumse matlab? ", Aanisha retorted.
" Aanisha, I just asked. Agar nahi batana toh maat batao. It's fine! ", he said calmly.
" Ha toh! Tumhe fark padega bhi kyu! ", Aanisha huffed.
(" Whom were you talking to baby? ")
(" Anything to do with you? ")
("Aanisha, I just asked. If you don't want to tell. It's fine! ")
("Yeah! Why would you even care! ")
Rutvendra just gave her the confused look.
" Tume nahi lagta tum uss Vaidehi ko kuch jyada hi taad rahe the aaj! ", Aanisha commented as she moved to the dressing table.
(" Don't you think, you were looking way to much towards Vaidehi, today! ")
" What nonsense! Aisa kuch nahi hai! ", Rutvendra lifted his hands off.
" As if! Pata hai mhuje, you must be regretting having left her on the wedding day right! Ab kahi tume woh toh nahi chahiye? ", Aanisha pointed out.
Rutvendra was taken back for a moment.
" Shut up Aanisha! ", he raised a bit of his tone.
" Why ha! Sach hai, issliye chup rehne ko keh rahe ho? ", she asked coming close to him.
" For the f*ck sake, Shut up Aanisha! Don't you understand, I love you!
Ha, at a point that thought did cross my mind, I won't lie. Par more than that what's troubling me is, why cant we be what they are! Like a real, normal couple! I want "us" ," You" And "Me" to be a good normal couple, like they are. ", he said harshly.
" There's nothing normal between us, Rutvendra. There's. Nothing. Normal. Here.
Tumse shaadi karke na, my life has become a hell! A top model se ek maid banke reh gayi hu. You and your Orthodox, authoritative,misogynistic family has made my life a living hell! ", Aanisha yelled.
" I know I have done a lot of mistakes, but I am willing to change, can't you see that. I fought with dadi for you, I allowed you to go to work. I know in the initial days it felt like I caged you, but I returned you your freedom. I love you. I am willing to change the way that you want me too.What more do you want me to do Aanisha? ", Rutvendra shouted. It was his frustration speaking.
" Huh.. Freedom, the permission to work. That's not something great that you did Rutvendra. "
"I know it's not something great, but I am changing, changing for good, why can't you see that. "
"Raaghav- Vaidehi sa couple banna hai na tujhe, Tu pehle Raaghav jaisa ban phir baat karenge! Woh dekh kaise uss Vaidehi ke liye duniya se lad leta hai, kaise uski har ek chotti si chotti chiz ka dyaan rakta hai.

Just then Aanisha's phone ranged.
"We are talking, Aanisha! ", Rutvendra said as he was really interested to have the conversation, to mend their relationship.
" We are not talking, we are fighting. "Aanisha said as she picked up the phone. And again went outside in the balcony, slamming the balcony's door.
Rutvendra too rushed out of the room closing the door with a equal bang.

Raaghav and Vaidehi were asleep. It was late night, when Vaidehi's phone rang.
She woke up sleepily.
Looking at the phone she realised it was from hospital.
She had to rush to the hospital, but that was not the concern.
Her concern was, tomorrow was the pooja, what if she doesn't make it in time. She knew how important the pooja was for the family, for her Raaghav.
She sat contemplating, when Raaghav also woke up.
"Kya huwa, Vaidu? ", he asked in his husky sleepy voice.
" Hospital se call tha! "
"I'll drop you! ", he said getting out of the
bed.
They were both sitted in the car when Vaidehi said, " Raaghav hum pooja tak ghar wapas pohoch jayenge na? "
("Raaghav, I'll be back on time for the pooha, na? ")
"Ha jaan! ", he replied while kissing her knuckles.
" Aur na pohoche toh? "
("If I don't reach then?")
"Mahadev se humari baat roz hoti rehti hai, keh denge, aap unke bhakt ki jaan hai, aapse naraz toh nahi hi honge woh! ", Raaghav said casually.
(" I have a talk with Mahadev daily, I'll tell him, he won't be angry on his devotee's jaan! ")
" But i want to be present in the pooja. I want to attend it. ", Vaidehi was a bit adamant.
" Ha, toh Mahadev ne chaha toh you'll make it in time.
("If Mahadev wishes, you'll make it in time! ")
I'll come to pick you up! That'll be good na! ", he said.
" Nahi, aap wahi rukna.. I'll come myself. Dono nahi honge, toh bewajah phir..
"Hmm...
They reached the hospital and Raaghav haulted the car.
" Don't worry jaan. Chotti si baat hai, itni chinta karni ki jarurat nahi hai! ", he said as he pecked her forehead.

" Aap sambhal ke jaayiye! Text me once you reach. Aur so jayega! ", she instructed.
" Noted ma'am! ", he playfully saluted.
Vaidehi entered the hospital, after she saw the car go out of her vision.

The whole family was in front of the devgarh. All were helping in the preparation.
Panditji was preparing the havan kund.
Raaghav was helping with the commodities, although his eyes were looking at the main door, every now and then, he somehow wanted Vaidehi to return.
There was nearly an hour left for the pooja.
Rutvendra and Aanisha came down stairs all dolled up.
Rutvendra went and sat next to the panditji.
It took only few minutes, till when the family heard the panditji say, "Shiv !Shiv! ".
Panditji got up in a jolt and walked towards Rana Amrendra angrily.
" Kya huwa panditji? ", Rana Amrendra asked.
(" What happened panditji? ")
" Hum.. Hum yeh pooja nahi kar sakte! Ranasa! ", the panditji said, still being angry.
(" I won't be able to do this pooja! Ranasa! ")
" Kya! Kya huwa panditji! Humse koi bhul hui hai kya! Shama kar dijiye agar aisa hai toh panditji! ", Rana Amrendra said with folded hands.
(" What! What happened Panditji! Did we do anything wrong? Please forgive us if any.. ")
