make me lose control
"MEREDITH, ARE YOU OKAY?" George calls through the door, because Bailey was blocking the door to the locker room where Meredith was.
"Just zip." Bailey tells George, handing a chart to Alex. "Dr. Karev stick with ETS case and Alex her blushing impulse not a toy for you to play with or button for you to push. Understood?"
"Hey Meredith." Cristina says, carefully. "You know um my great grandmother, she died with Alzheimer's."
"My god, why would you say that?" Izzie asks the girl, appalled.
"Well, it does strike a connection. Alzheimer's. Death." Maddison shrugs, and Izzie looks at her, wide eyed.
"Look, we're just trying to help." Cristina tells Izzie, pulling Maddison behind her, before the girl said any more morbid things.
"Izzie, the Dr. Shepherd's need an intern up in the NICU." Bailey says.
"Wait, both of them?" Izzie trails off. "To.. gether... and me by myself with the two married people who hate each other?"
"Go." Bailey tells her, and Izzie walks off.
"Christina you're on the thoracotomy." Bailey continues. "And Maddison, go to the clinic, Dr. William is overseeing it today."
"With Burke?" Cristina repeats. "Oh can I have the hateful married couple instead?"
"And can I get the thoracotomy?" Maddison asks, and Baily glares at her. "Orrrrr, I could even do the desperate for marriage counselling couple?"
The girl gives her resident a charming smile, but Bailey's not impressed.
"Okay, I'm sorry I thought that I was your resident not your hostess. I assign, you take." Bailey tells them. "Is that a problem?"
"N-nno." The two girls shutter.
"Is there some reason why it's inconvenient for you to spend the day in the OR or the clinic, learning from Dr. Burke and Dr. William?" Bailey asks.
"No. I'm very happy to be working with Dr. Burke. Thank you very much." Cristina rants, rushing off, and Bailey turns to Maddison, giving her a questioning look.
"Well, I wouldn't say inconvenient..." Maddison tilts her head. "A little untimely, I would say-"
"Three..." Bailey starts counting down. "Two..."
"Okay, I'm gone." Maddison races off.
"DR. WILLIAM?" Maddison calls out, entering the clinic' store room.
"Maddi- Dr. Sloan?" Liam's voice comes, as he looks up from the box of medical instruments.
"I'm your intern for today." Maddison tells him, letting go of the store room door, which swings close. "The nurse up front told me to call you."
"Oh, yeah." Liam nods, walking past Maddison, and tries to open the door.
It doesn't open. They both look at each other.
"Are we locked in here?" Maddison asks, going to the knob. When that doesn't work, she bangs on the door. "Hello? Anyone there?!"
"We're pretty far from the main emergency room of the clinic, so I don't think anyone can hear us." Liam sighs.
Maddison groans, and Liam goes and sits down on a chair. She sighs, leaning against the door.
It's quite for several beats.
"So, how are things going with Anderson?" Liam tries to make small talk.
"I thought you weren't interested in talking about stuff like that." Maddison taunts.
"I am not." Liam defends, trying to seem nonchalant. "Interested."
"Good. Neither am I." Maddison replies, with a sharp tone, and Liam narrows his eyes at her.
"Can you ever not have the last word?" Liam asks the intern.
"I don't know, can you ever not let me know what you actually think?" Maddison replies in the same tone.
"Tch." Liam clicks his tongue. "I forgot how much of a brat you are."
"Oh, you are so infuriating!" Maddison groans.
"What do you think you are?!" Liam also stands up.
"Whatever I am, it is none of your concern!" Maddison tells him.
"I don't even know what we're fighting about!" Liam groans.
"Well, neither do I!" Maddison yells.
The door swings open.
"Dr. Willan?" The nurse asks, as the two turn to her. "Uh..." She trails off, noticing the weird tension in the room. "Um, you're needed in the clinic."
"HEY DID YOU GET your mom's biopsy results back yet?" Izzie asks, approaching Meredith and Maddison who were sitting on top of the nurse's station, leaning on each other and George who was standing near them.
"Not yet." George answers.
"How's Cristina?" Maddison asks.
"She's ah..." Izzie sighs. "She's gonna have a lotta pain for a few days but she'll be okay."
"I'm glad you were there." Meredith tell the girl.
"Are you guys?" Izzie questions the two.
"Yes, We are." Meredith replies.
"Of course." Maddison adds.
"It's just..." Izzie scoffs out a laugh. "It's just that a lot of the time it feels like you, Cristina and Maddison are kinda over there and ... I'm here."
It's silent for a moment.
"So bout Alex." Meredith tells her.
"Yeah I know, I know. You guys hate him. Fine." Izzie replies, and George groans.
"Yeah we do but I just wanna say that I believe you. That he's different once you get to know him." Meredith tells her, making Izzie smile
"Here you go." A lab tech walks up and hands the Meredith the results. "Ellis Grey."
She opens the folder and reads the results. Handing Maddison the result, she gets up.
"Let her know." She tells George, as Maddison closes the folder and hands it to George, getting up too, while Meredith walks away.
"Meredith, are you okay?" Izzie asks.
"No. I'm not okay." Meredith simply replies.
Maddison sighs. She turns around and starts walking in the other direction, just when Liam comes around the corner.
