𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐓𝐇𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 overrated for Sofia, she had never liked the big parties her parents threw her when she was younger, she didn't have her own friends there but the kids from her parents friends. When Sofia grew up she didn't celebrate the day, she would go out and get drunk to forget about being a year closer to the dead. Last year she was on set of the hunger games, so she didn't celebrate at all, she got surprised by the team with a cake and a card. But now she was living in New York with her boyfriend.
"Happy birthday love." He handed the first gift to his girlfriend. A big smile was plastered all over his face, Tom loved giving presents to Sofia.
Sofia opened the small box that was wrapped in paper seconds before. A golden ring revealed itself a beautiful pearl on top of it. She was amazed at how Tom could buy these beautiful gift for her, she had already loved the necklaces he gave at Christmas and it perfectly matched her ring.
He gave her some side presents that she had been wanting. An oversized black hoodie with a print on it, makeup that had to be restocked and a card which said that Tom had a surprise for her.
"You're the sweetest boyfriend someone could have asked for." She embraced the man standing next to her. "Thank you, sweetheart."
"It's a formal surprise, so the dresscode is formal." He placed a kiss on the top of her hair.
𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 in front of Sofia's eyes so she couldn't peak around to see her surprise. Tom was guiding her through the room until they arrived in place. Sofia had no idea what was going on but she had go with it.
"Are you ready?" The all too familiar voice asked her, Sofia gave him a nod and Tom removed his hand away from her eyes.
"SURPRISE!!"
Sofia scanned the room for a couple seconds, surprised by all the people that were in the room. Josh and Rachel stood together, Evelyn Gray a old childhood friend stood next to Trent, some others from the cast of tbosas like, Hunter, Ashley Liao, Kjell Brutscheidt. She immediately made her way to the group giving everyone a hug and thanking them. Sofia then walked over to her boyfriend and planted a kiss on his soft lips.
"Thank you, for the surprise my love." She planted another kiss on his lips. Sofia didn't want anything big for her birthday but she loved having dinner with her friends.
Everyone sat down in a chair and started chatting with each other. Tom sat on Sofia's left and Evelyn her old friend Evelyn Gray sat on her right. Sofia hadn't seen her friend in years because her family moved to America, their contact died down a year after Evelyn moved. The two had different things going on and talking every day with each other was too much. There isn't a grudge between them at all because they didn't have a fight.
"It's so good to see you again." Sofia exclaimed giving her friend a side hug. "It's been 7 years since you moved away and now we both have a job and much more."
"When Tom invited me to your birthday dinner I was surprised, because I haven't been in touch with you for so long. I genuinely missed your presence so much when I moved."
"How come?" Sofia asked her.
"You were always so fun to hang out with. I remembered having many sleepovers together, going out together even though we weren't allowed to drink back then. When I got to America, no one compared to our friendship to be honest." Evelyn explained to her friend.
After the first two courses, Sofia slipped out of the room and went out for some air. It wasn't very pleasant weather outside but it was better than staying in a hot room for too long. Some footsteps were heard behind Sofia and she immediately turned around. She didn't want to risk having to relive that nightmare. Sofia calmed down when the familiar face of her boyfriend stood there.
"Sorry, I wanted to see if you were okay and safe." He took some steps closer to the girl and placed his arm around the back of her neck.
"This has been one of the best birthdays probably, I've never liked my birthday but this feels like just having dinner with good friends." She looked up to the sky it was dark but some of the stars lighted it up.
"I could watch these stars every hour of the day if it was possible." The corners of Tom's lips curled upwards. He noticed that Sofia adored the little things, like stars and people walking around the city. She always made up stories when she saw something interesting about someone, especially an elderly couple, of how they fell in love etc. He definitely has the most extraordinary girl and he loved her to bits.
"So you're a stargirl then?" He asked moving behind her and relaxes his arms around her neck. She held the hands that were dangling in front of her, his hands were still warm from the inside of the building behind them.
"Only if you are my starboy?" She chuckled.
"Then I'll be your starboy."
