Orange, and silence. That is, the only thing I am experiencing right now. The only noise being the ticking clock on the wall. Tick, Tock, Tick. The sound it makes every hour.
I mumble to myself, "It's three o-clock..."
"There is Nothing, TO DO!" I raise my voice in annoyance, and from boredom. I look over at my roommate Box, just there on his side of the Hotel room.
"Oh please, it's not like you can hear me."
I get up from my bed and face palm myself. "Ugh, I just gotta do something to end how I am right now. I'm bored, irritated from doing nothing for the past forty minutes."
I exit my room, even though I have no clue what to do I just walk around the hotel halls aimlessly.
I look at all of the doors I pass by, reading the signs to myself. "Let's see. Cherries and YinYang, Tissues and Trophy, Pickle and Microphone, Fan and Paintbrush-" I come to an abrupt halt just past the last room I said out loud.
Fan and Paintbrush. Yeah, Paintbrush must know how to steady theme selves from being irritated like this...and from burning up Hotel OJ.
I knock on the door a couple of times just to make sure I'm allowed inside. "What is it NOW Fan?"
I tilt my head in confusion, "Um, it's actually-"
Suddenly, Paintbrush slams the door open revealing themselves. Their back is up straight and some of their bristles are out of place.
"FAN, I TOLD YOU TO STOP! Oh...sorry about that Y/N." I could've sworn I saw a red flicker, thank goodness it didn't make a fire.
"Hey Paintbrush. Do you mind if I come in? Or, would this not be the best time to-"
"No, it's okay Y/N." Paintbrush facepalmed themselves as they opened their room door to let me in.
I sit on Fan's bed, that was pretty well made, and stared at the ceiling. Even with barely anything to do, tons of thoughts go through my head. Because of that, I can't even decide on what to do. And because of that, I came to Paintbrush.
Paintbrush closes their room door and falls facedown into their bed, their face sinking into the pillow.
"Hopefully your mattress is made out of memory foam. You alright Paintbrush?"
Paintbrush gets up and just sits on the side of their bed to face me, "Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Just irritated. Also don't worry, the mattress isn't that hard...maybe a little burnt on one corner but-you clearly know why."
I know exactly why the corner is burnt...Paintbrush clearly stubbed their foot on the edge of the bed frame. It's no big deal, happens to everyone. (I stubbed my toe, so that's why I put this in lol)
"I mean, I get irritated too. But you have an actual reason I bet, mind telling me?"
"Ugh, we both have nothing better to do so why not. And you understand me the most." (And Lightbulb btw)
I lean in slightly and listen to Paintbrush, "*Sigh. Ever since yesterday, Fan has been very excited to visit Test Tubes laboratory, that he couldn't stop talking about it. He kept on making theories and going to fanfiction to see if anyone has made stories about it. Apparently he found something called Experiment 21? We were going to both start reading it tomorrow. When Fan left not that long ago, he kept on forgetting things that made him keep coming back to our room. First it was a portable phone charger, then a advanced camera lense for his phone, and then it was like a large blue rubber band!" (Tell Paintbrush not to eat KitKat bars anymore)
I look to my side, trying to think about what happened next. "So, you told him to not come back unless it was actually important?"
I twittle my thumbs in my hands, picturing the moment in my head. And yeah, it would get pretty annoying over time.
"Yeah, that's basically what happened Y/N. It's just, ugh! It gets annoying putting up with all that cra-"
"I know, I know." I interrupt before things get out of hand.
I fall backwards onto Fan's bed, facing the ceiling again. I laugh slightly, "Guess we have some things in common then!"
Paintbrush looks at me, clearly confused. "What do you mean?"
"Think about it! We both want life to go perfectly, but that can't happen. But, at least we both try to stand everything that happens here, together right?"
I sit up to face Paintbrush again, not wearing a small smile. "Yeah,
